its like a kid turning in a super hero . SHe can turn in a super hero because she realy believe super heroes exist . But adult know they don't so an adult using this fruit would not be able to turn in a super hero . But Nika do exist so Bonney will always be able to turn in him .
Plus, Kuma told Bonney that Nika was his Hero, so in a way Bonney became the hero her father admired.
Super i also have the same thoughts but nobody is willing to accept this.
49:43 Saturn said that he was testing if he can give an infant a devil fruit. Since you have to chew a devil fruit and infants can't chew, Saturn took an extract of the fruit and gave it to Bonney to test if it will still give her the df powers and it worked. So yes, she did infact eat the original devil fruit.
As for how Bonney’s distorted future power works, Chestnut is right. How I would explain it is that as long as she believes something exists, she can turn into it bc as long as it exists, there’s a possible future out there in an alternative universe where she is that thing. How that thing logically works does NOT matter bc it’s an alternative future where everything is different. If she were to doubt its existence completely (either by ppl manipulating her like Saturn did, her not seeing it so she doesn’t believe it, etc) then she wouldn’t be able to do it bc if it doesn’t exist in her head, there’s no possibility of her ever becoming that thing in an alternative future.

Yo, I don't get why people are disappointed in Nika Bonney this week. They should've expected it since she used Gear 3 in the flashback.

it wasn't gear third tho, it was her trying to copy nika but she didn't know what he looked like, so now that she does idk why people are acting like she wasn't gonna be able to copy the feel of it at the LEAST when she finally see's it
Ill put it like this, if she was at Marineford and saw Sengoku attack Luffy and them while tranformed that she could ask for a Buddha future
If Pudding took out her memory of having seen that and was told about Some of the things Buddha had been known to do, her piecing together of these when she asks for a Buddha-ish future she would only be able to do some of the things, someone could easily correct her but until she sees Sengiku again it wouldn't be exactly like his. And then her seeing it again wouldnt be a retcon or ass oull shes just seeing a possible future (because Vegapunk said the devil fruits were all possible evolutions for Mankind, so if she has seen or can idealize a power she can replicate some aspects)

I think we just need to look at this moment as just a child looking up to her superhero and leave it at that. Power scaling be damned. For now. I get the controversy, but honestly for me. Luffy liberating bonny is the best part and resolution of her arc. So far I am enjoying it. Will just have to see how far oda takes this "joke" in the coming chapters.
The beating heart of the will of joyboy awakening the ancient robot and thus the VP message being turned back on, is another great scene i saw coming. So we are for sure getting that "Final reveal" soon.

The santa example was great, Binney as a child sees adults do things, she sees her fathers shape/size, how fast people are running, how strong they punch, and she thinks "i cant do that because im a kid" and imagines themselves as an adult that can also do That.
And with Saturn he was explaining her powers and telling her that Nika was an impossibility. He was telling the truth on how her powers work and slid in a lie at the end where he wanted her to believe that a Nika future was not something she could do. She demonstrated a Rubber punch and yelled out Nika and Saturn saw an opportunity to cut off any further progress in being like Nika by giving her details that would limit future possibilities. I could see Bonney losing a tooth and regrowing it with "give me a future where i own a Cow farm" because she could imagine raising a cow and getting milk and drinking the milk to regrow her teeth. And then her tooth would grow back, or if she saw Sanji run she could see a "Give me a Runners future" and run as fast as she saw Sanji run. People keep using Gear 5 and Luffy amd Destiny and i think that with the Certain Futures line he added confusion. Oda can be telling us the truth with a statement from a lying character, good lies are hidden as a grain in a meal of truth. You were both right Hime was just interrupting Chestnut. I always thought we all understood it the same way Chestnut did. I think the dailogue explains it very clearly. I can understand non-native speakers not completely getting it, but I would have never thought a huge chunck of the community did not understand it as welkl. Hopefully with this channels reach, the explanations spreads.
For her power, it’s explained as anything she believes is a possible future for her, she can manipulate her form through distorted future to become. If it’s a future she doesn’t believe in, she can’t use distorted future to change herself into said form. For example, Saturn instilled a hopeless future for her where she was going to die and her beliefs didn’t matter, so she wasn’t able to foresee anything other than that and thus her powers didn’t work. It’s designed to get weaker with age, the more one learns about the world, the less it works. Just because she’s able to do it now, doesn’t mean she will be able to do it later. But so long as she has faith in the future she’s trying to become, she can become it. A kid learning their parents is buying gifts instead of Santa will make the kid begin to stop believing in Santa. Even if they met the mall Santa, they can learn that’s just a dude in a costume which will make them have less faith in the real Santa. That being said, it’s still possible to believe Santa is real somewhere out there, though that person would be considered delusional. Luffy is the type of person to not spit on someone’s dream, no matter how crazy, so if she’s with him, any future can become a possibility. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible for her to loose that ability since the power is designed to nerf the user the older they grow. It was meant to be a twisted joke, giving them everything, but then not being able to do anything in the face of gods. Hope that makes sense
