The thing I always loved about this encounter with Ace: He just steps in to rescue Luffy in a "Nobody messes with my little brother"-way and Luffy doesn't question it for even a second. When Ace tells him to run, he does and isn't just a tiny bit worried any more. He just grins in a "Don't worry, my badass big brother has my back as always"-way. It's such a short scene but you learn so much about their bond and instantly fall in love with these two brothers. 🥰

I think Ace's devil fruit was foreshadowed when we first met him. Cause it was the only time drum islands' sky was clear and not clouded snowing (There will be more evidence on devil fruit powers affecting the users' surroundings like that later one)

Man, I love Ace. It truly brings back memories. I believe it was in the early '00 that I got to know him, not from the original Anime, but from a Japanese Exclusive video game called One Piece: Grand Battle 2. I've been watching the Anime since then, cause of that game.

I think it has been said before, but these two pick up on the little clues in such a satisfying way. When the big revelations hit they are vindicated and it is just so much fun to watch them make smart, on-the-money guesses. Even when wrong they make a ton of sense. I'd love to see them react to a mystery series like Netflix's Wednesday.

You might know about Garp from the live action, but his familial relationship is only revealed considerably later in the story. Keep that in mind, although it is definitely fun to see you two come up with reasons and assumptions based on what you already know from the live action!
