COLUMBIA VS. BARNARD: Which One is Right for You?

I get asked so often about the difference between Columbia and Barnard - is Barnard part of Columbia or a sister school (yes), are Barnard students Columbia students or their own community (yes), are some classes easier or harder (yes!!!). I hope this clears some things up as much as it can, considering I was literally told in Columbia orientation both that Barnard is one of the four undergraduate colleges and that there are only three undergraduate colleges :))) This explanation is based on my personal experience, and I welcome other viewpoints from fellow Columbians and Barnardigans in the comments! If you're thinking of applying, let me know which one feels right to you!
