Thanks for the heads up on the 24 month exemption for trust applications. I filed two eForm 4's this week that were approved in under 24 hours, plus a third can I filed for last month with Silencer Shop got approved in the batch. Silencer Shop needs to get with the program and enable this option for their users. Thanks again for all the hard work you put in.
My first 3 wear over a year. My last 2 wear 90 days and 84 days. The one that took 90 days was a single shot trust and the other individual. In my opinion thay are getting better
My fastest was 41 days for my third suppressor. My longest was 237 days for my second can and actually it was my third suppressor that got approved first then my second suppressed it the next day. As of today, October 1, I’m at 71 days for my fourth suppressor
Have done the VAF and have UPIN. Included along with SS# and still long waits. Crazy. My fist was 13 months. Second almost 8. Third 6 and 3+ on the fourth now.
Idk if it’s possible but could the nfa process be tweaked to allow the dealer to run the nics on site before submitting the form 4 and include the transaction/confirmation number on the form 4. That would get the largest delay out of the way and then the nfa branch just double checks that the nics check was valid and for the correct person
Yes, they absolutely are much faster. I bought my first suppressor YHM R9 back in April and from certified to approval was 7 days. I recently bought my second suppressor B&T 7.62 SF this past week I certified on Tuesday evening and was approved early Thursday morning, less than 36 hours!!!
Wait times for trusts are still atrocious! No reason individuals are waiting hours to a few days and us that have to have a trust are still waiting months to a year. Still a joke
I have been waiting since April, now it’s 10/19/24 I have called and spoke with the Feds. Nothing, they should not be able to take our money ($200 tax stamp) until they start the process
I bought and paid for two suppressors October 2023, form 4 accepted and approved November 2023. Contacted ATF a few weeks ago and still working on it. That makes about 10 months with them. I already have 3 suppressors from a few years back and have had concealed carry for 20 years. Shouldn't be a problem. So what's the deal with supposedly getting such fast approvals?
Just went back and looked at my form 4 and seen there is no ss number on the submitted paperwork. How is this possible when i entered my ss number at every step as advised by the shop worker. Should I expect to wait 3 months now i noticed 2h says it can delay the process 🤬
I got 3 and the first one was approved in 5 minutes basically as soon as my background check was done. The second and third took 3 and 4 hours respectfully... luckily the store is 5 mins away
i'm calling bullshit i've waited almost a full year for my can and I hold a DOD clearance and I paid and filed individual form 4 with ss# back on 10/28/23
It’s all an infringement farce! Nobody should buy anymore NFA items until they just get rid of the NFA! Let the business lobby deal with it when people start refusing to buy their stuff as long as the hoops are up! Not just on silencers but short barrels or automatic also. Why should a civilian have to pay 20k plus for an automatic just because it’s from the small supply of pre 1986 weapons available? It’s not exactly illegal to own the automatic but it sure as hell is an undue burden in order to buy one when you should otherwise be able to buy more modern automatics for maybe $5000 or less!
On average my customers are getting cans back in 48 hours after certifying. Typically a week from start to finish. Unfortunately trusts are still taking a long time. I just got one back for myself in 36 hours. The biggest problem right now with the surge in supressor sales is trying to get the different end caps and hub attatchments.
@@colbymonroe6131 That is not a lie, if your can is taking that long you either have something on your record or you need to call them and find out what the issue is. Most people simply do not understand the process.
Trust submissions are not up at all. Individual submissions yes. Only good thing is if you have multiple items they will all get done at the same time. Trust are still 8-9 months.
Adding SS or anything else doesn’t speed it up. Im the only person in the US with my name go through multiple background checks for work every 5 years for TWIC and Mariner License all go through DHS and it didn’t help either. Your either lucky or your not.
Just got a can approved and in my possession in 24 hours. Now here’s some irony. Having the host shipped since couldn’t find locally. Bought it 4 days before the can. Currently on a UPS truck somewhere. I’m in this liberal shit hole known as Colorado. We have a 3 day wait for firearms. Yes, your math is correct. The ATF was faster with the NON LETHAL metal cylinder than getting the boom stick in my hand. 😂🤪
This is bullshit. I submitted an individual eform 4 on August 12. I have subsequently called ATF&E-NFA Division and the perky informative lady told me that the “average” approval time at this point is 69 days. So the whole motivational factor of my purchase was the “FAST APPROVAL TIME”… in as little as six days approval time, what a crock of shit! No problem I have have already paid over $1100 bucks, so WTF?, right? Just advertising BS.
No it's not BS advertising. YMMV, my last suppressor was approved in less then 36 hours. That was this week. Certified on Tuesday evening and approved early Thursday morning. But I also get an immediate approval on the NICS BG checks as well. Even living here in Oregon where there is about a 2.5k backlog of people in this state doing BGCs, mine comes back immediately every single time. I've never had to wait. I asked someone why that could be and was told that it likely had to do with the uniqueness of my first and last name combo. Not to mention that I have a squeaky clean record.
i went and got a q trash panda about 2 or 3 months after the quick approval process started happening and every store was out of stock and i got approved in 2 days, just put another form in for a sandman s we'll see how long that takes put in for that one on october 6th
