I finally beat Alan Wake about 2 years ago and found it to be a really immersive experience. The atmosphere and environments are top-notch, and while I don't find it scary, it definitely makes you feel threatened. The game definitely deserves more attention than it gets.
Agreed, the game isn't scary but does have an intimidating atmosphere that keeps you on edge throughout. Glad you finally got around to playing it, it does seem to be a bit of an underrated gem 😁
I'm really glad I finally finished it. I've had it since around 2012 but never got around to finishing it until my recent playthrough. It's something I'm also considering doing a video on in the future, because I have quite a bit to say about it!
Now that Remedy has acquired the full rights from Microsoft.. I am beginning to hope again. This is honestly one of my favorite gaming experiences. There's so much left to be explored.. it's so immersive, so clever.. truly one of the most underappreciated titles of last generation. "It's not a lake. It's an ocean."
Whatever I'm Doing We don’t see much of Alan in it, but you find a lot of audio recordings and documents that shed light on what happened to all of the characters after the events in Bright Falls. The ending of the DLC indicates a “Return” for Alan two years from now, so I’m hoping that means some sort of sequel. Also, without spoiling anything, we do see the return of one particular character, and oh boy did things not work out well for him…
literally my favorite game until the witcher 3 but damn i think about this game all the time and constantly listen to the soundtrack, really left a lifetime impression on me.
I still need to get into the Witcher series... but agreed, I mean I was 13 when I first played the game and 9 years later felt the need to make an almost half an hour video on it 😂
It was very immersive. Loved it really had great story the way you'd be in the mountains or forest on the run at night and u would hear a radio in a ranger station ect it was creepy and awesome felt real in that sense. It's totally worth playing if u haven't for sure.
Best Xbox 360 in my opinion. As a teenager I played Alan Wake hundreds of hours and I wish that they added a open world to this game. (The "beta open world map" can be seen many times) I hope that we could play Alan Wake 2 in the future.
I have so much nostalgia for so many games on the 360 so I'm not willing to say it's the best but, I can easily say it is one of them! Now with Controls expansions released, it does look likely we'll see a sequel!
I haven't touched this in forever but LOVED the atmosphere in Alan Wake. Any game that puts off an undeniably creepy vibe is my jam. It doesn't even have to be straight-up horror just HEAVY in its atmosphere if that makes sense. Weirdly enough I'm watching Twin Peaks for the first time right now. I'm definitely going to watch this as I love behind-the-scenes games documentaries. As for the linearity, I didn't mind it but open-world would've been nice. I suppose I can get my fix from Evil Within 2 for that though. Awesome look into a game I hadn't played in quite some time. Someday I'd also like to finish Alan Wake's American Nightmare!
Easily is one of my favourite games of all time! I have no problem with Remedy focusing on telling a linear story, I think it really added to the atmosphere and tenseness. Hope you enjoyed the video mate, stay tuned for Part 2 😎
I mean... I made a 25 minute video on how much I love the game, so obviously I agree the game is damn good 😂 I know our backlogs are ridiculous but if you ever have a spare 8 to 10 hours I'd recommend giving it another crack
I started playing Alan Wake remastered and was telling my brother who's never played it how great it is, and how great finding the future telling manuscript pages are. I used that exact chainsaw one as the example 👍🏻
@@fatihkan2601 - You could be right, but in American Nightmare she's alive and well. Alan is fighting his dark self to get back to her. It's a shame that we haven't got a proper Alan Wake 2, yet.
2:31 man this brings back memories lol. I had just saved up and purchased my first laptop. I remember discovering RUclips for the first time shortly after and then randomly thinking "I wonder what Remedy games have been up to", hoping to find news on a Max Payne 3(as I was/am a massive fan of Max Payne) and googled them only to stumble onto their Wikipedia and saw "Alan Wake" listed in the list of games. Never heard of it and immediately went to watch this trailer.
I just felt like I HAD to finish this game. Also the band The Black Angels is the band that plays one of the ending songs. Highly recommend checking out the band.
Scouring the internet trying desparately to spark an interest in the game just before the remaster for modern machines and I think I may have found it. The game to me was great in terms of the phenomonal lighting effects, but asides from that I honestly wasn't that much of a fan. 2012 was when I last played the game, but willing to give it another shot for the PS5 with Dualsense support. Hopefully Alan Wake will get the Mass Effect treatment with a full blown remaster because the Mass Effect Trilogy, even through PS5 backwards compatibility looks and plays incredible!
Nobody ever thinks of death rally first when they think of remedy. It's not a big deal, the video just started but it would have bothered if i didn't mention this.
i was actually really disappointed with it. i remember hyping myself up for it so much back in 2010. even got an xbox 360 just for the game. it started off really well but i found myself getting less and less interested in the story as it went along. didn't help i found it a bit repetitive with the enemies constantly coming at you. wasn't a big fan of the characters either. his friend and wife were annoying imo
@@smithfinland214 yeah. you could say that about any game tbh. i was just disappointed because i really enjoyed max payne 1 & 2. was expecting big things from AW.

@@MayorHairBear What about the remake and PART 2 in 2023!!!
Much like Silent Hill, the game was oddly peaceful. I felt like I could live there. Its Twin Peaks the game.
100% mate! 😂
It's definitely a comfy horror game
Deadly Premonition is Twin Peaks the game even more so.
Funny how you said you wanted to see more of Alan Wake and Remedy was like "we do too so here ya go" and released Control
I had an inkling it would happen that way but you never know until you get to play it 😂 Control was amazing!

Yup, thats remedy.
100% xD
I’m sure you must be hyped as hell for the AW 2 announcement as well as the AW 1 remaster!
Funny you should mention that... keep your eye out for the next video 😂
Hope you're ready for the remaster Mayor ☺️

The combat and the survival horror aspecs were abit lacking tho
Interesting how we assume people remember Quantum Break more than Alan Wake, like on what basis?
Cant believe destiny stole a full on enemy type from this game
