    Happy Birthday Slippy!
For anyone who’s after one search ‘Douk-Douk 160mm’ for the clip point or ‘L’écureuil 160mm’ for the spearpoint version. They come in carbon or stainless steel. If you don’t want carbon steel to patina quickly just rub the blade with a thin layer of lip balm

Reminds me of the German Mercator K55 pocket knife. Very nice.

Excellent example of a classic french knife! I recently received an order from Knives Of France, including a very unique friction folder by Coutellerie Cognet-the Montpellier. It's an old design that was quite popular amongst sailors. The blade shape is beyond interesting! I highly suggest you give it a look.
    Cheers, as always!

    Happy birthday Matt.
Congrats on the Douk-douk. Tgey are sweet knives. My wife picked up one for me at an estate sale a couple monthes ago. It the orginal 160mm version with a 75mm carbon steel blade and black handle. It's a sweet little knife.

Awesome gift! Looks like an amazing knife!! The beads on the lanyard make me think of nuts for the squirrel. Perfect music for the slideshow!

Great gift from Elan. That is a fantastic slicer and love the humor about the squirrel pronunciation.

A friend of mine had one of the black handled Douk-Douks with the fancy blade. He loved the thing.

I have the smaller, black-handled version with the actual "Douk Douk" figure on it and the Turkish clip point blade. Just a wonderful EDC or backup. Invisible in the pocket, weighs nothing, looks awesome, and it can even fit in a pocket notebook or a wallet. I use the bail as a sort of lock to keep it closed, not that it's necessary. I've thought about putting a pocket hanger on the bail to act as a pocket clip, but never found the need since it's easy to pull out of a fifth pocket or back pocket. These simple French slipjoint knives are vastly under-rated.

Great looking little knife! Always wanted one! Reminds me of my “Higonokami” Japanese utility knife. Only difference really is the Higonokami is a friction folder(no lock at all). You should check them out if you want a small very sharp utility type folder for the pocket!

The lack of a blade lock is a dealbreaker for me. Otherwise it’s a good practical knife. The choil is a good feature and I introduce this on my personal knives to allow effective sharpening. I carry a Mercator K55 and have done for over 50 years. 👍🏻
