Take it to a watchmaker and have him shorten the wire lugs, if it’s possible, because there’s still at least a millimeter you could take off on each side and still have sufficient space for the strap. That would bring the lug to lug width down to 51.
Great review man! Too bad for the lugs, but this piece looks great in bronze. I recently bought the SF744 with a quartz movement and California dial, it will be my second Steelflier.
.... the strap is the problem , I put my Steeldive ( stainless steel ) version on a thin dark blue leather strap that matches the blued hands and it is a delight to wear on my 172mm wrist .......
This watch is so beautiful but so LARGE… Ironically I believe Steelflier came into existence because watch reviewers kept complaining about Steeldive putting their name on non dive watches. 🤔. Thanks for the great review though!
Looks like a non-standard strap. How does one replace it? Do the tiny screws in the back allow you to remove the lugs or does it have hidden spring bars?
