  • The Ford Transit Custom has gained a distinct reputation for being one of the best vans you can buy.. After all it is Europe's best selling van and it's now been enhanced further in this all new generation.
The new generation Transit fitted with a 2 litre eco blue diesel engine, there's also a fully-electric version called the E-Transit Custom.
I take a look around this new Transit and compare it to its earlier model known as the Mk8.

You keep saying transit , but in reality the custom has only had 3 models, so it’s a Mk 3

Very comfortable. Can be well equipped. Outrageously thirsty! Still easy to break into.

Brilliant video of 2 completely different vans , I like the interior of the mrk9 but as you mentioned with the badges , not being the classic original style , I bet the mrk 9 with all the fancy gadgets and features will be a back to main dealer fix only , unlike the mrk8 love to no the towing capacity of the mrk9

The Mk7 Transit Custom you show is the older first generation MK7(Pre-Facelift), there was an upgrade version 2018 Ford Transit Custom facelift which has a similar grill to the MK.8

The front on the mrk 9 looks really nice but not the back, it seems like its missing something.

    @niceguy235uk1 5 месяцев назад +1

The wheel arch gap at the back is larger because of the higher payload.

And ford have reduced the warranty from 100000 miles to 60000 miles knowing full well the problem with the wet belt ..what a disgrace why would anybody buy one

I ordered a new one. 170hp, AWD, Automatic. I am a VW Fan but the Transit is the first car (since a long time) that i liked straight away. But one thing isn't clear to me... you order the LED Pack for the cargo space and there are 4 places for LED... Ford install 3... will order a 4th LED...

you missed out on the main point, did they get rid of wet belt driven engines? if it is the same reliability will be a problem

Not sure who ‘installed’ those grille LEDs on the white one 🤷‍♂️🙄🤔🤪 Such a shame that our beloved Transporters are going to be based on the new Transit 😢

It seemed to be quite spacious, although I didn't try 3 people in the front I think it would be fine especially the auto as there's no gear stick in the passengers leg room

Anybody who pays a ridiculous amount of money for one of these vans will also need to put at least 5k to one side for a new engine when the wet belt snaps its just like death and paying taxes its absolutely guaranteed to happen and ford just wont accept any responsibility and issue a recall, ford shouldn't be allowed to get away with it but hey you live and learn too late ...just like me 🤯

Looks like the security is still as bad , us tradesmen will still have to fork out to get armour plates and deadlocks fitted....!!!
    It’s a shitshow really Ford...!!

    • @RichST

Yeah but thing is no matter how good they make the security it will be compromised in some way.

Mate , Ford are still putting the locks in the same position on the load doors as they did on the first mk 1 custom...!!!
These locks are a joke , you can get in with a sharp screwdriver , they really need to get with the times and sort it out...!!
      Ford Transit Custom...
No 1 Targeted van by thieves..

you can get the old one in to multi-storycar parks. it's sales talk. the new van is a vw transporter and smaller than the old one. Which is shit!
