yeah they just happen to take 3-9 months off in between episodes sometimes lol I'm glad bebop is so episodic that it still works but for some shows this was really painful ^^ but I know they have a lot on their plate
we appreciate the understanding. but we're back on track now. HotD really messed with us and we had a big budget hit from the last year so we needed to stay as lean as we could are now looking for more editors to keep consistent
I really hope you truly mean _any_ TV show. Because a world where even the safest, most saccharine feel-good family sitcom has to try its hand at legit horror at least once sounds hilarious.
Yeah the animation studio for Bebop (Sunrise) worked on BTAS as well. So this seems like intentional Batman homage on their part after returning from working on that.
The end of this episode always made me sad... Pierre had the mind of a child, and he was made into what he was through torture. Hearing him cry for his mother is heartwrenching.
The incident resulted in Disney being issued a citation, and fined $6,300 for negligence. It's amazing that they were ever able to recover from such a financial loss. Really taught them a lesson.
And as to their concern over the robot, it's foreshadowed earlier in the episode that some areas of the park aren't quite safe when Spike enters a restricted area and is harassed by that hologram Cupid who tries to get him to leave: "It's dangerous here! Let's play outside!" The parade route is likely one such restricted area.
Spike's replacement eye is a close colour match, but it seems it's reflectivity isn't the same, just enough to freak out Le Fou. If this amusement park was running normally, there'd be staff looking out for people not to get stepped on my the parade robots.
An underrated part of this episode is when Spike sarcastically asks Faye if she would rescue him if he were knowingly going on a suicide mission, and instead of laughing him off like she might have earlier on, she just gets quiet and calls him a lunkhead. She's worried and doesn't want him to go, but she's still too proud and insecure to say yes.
I’ve always loved the sound of the hammer cocking back when “see you space cowboy” comes on the screen. The team was def flexing a bit with this episode
I tried researching this factoid for accuracy, but couldn’t find any material. I had always heard the artist who did the shadows here was also the inker for Batman, the animated series. He had such an understanding of the way shadows are layered, and the colors needed to convey that depth, the studio who produced bebop paid him a crazy amount of money for an artist at the time to come in and do the shadows for this episode and the final one. It’s nice to hear you guys get the Gotham flashbacks, as intended.
Nothing like that. Most American animated shows in the 90's were produced overseas in Japan and Korea. Sunrise, the studio that created Cowboy Bebop, worked on BTAS. There's a lot of staff overlap, and several of the animators who worked on Bebop worked on both shows, intentionally animating this episode in the same style as a direct homage.
@@erik6114 That is really cool! I didn’t even have the slightest notion. All this stuff came out so long ago and you get so busy adulting you forget to look up the answers to these questions you had about animation you enjoyed when you were a kid, even with the Internet Internet in your hand. You truly made my day! 😁👍🏻
Seeing this episode again today, watching Pierre get stomped on really put me in mind of Ricardo Montalban at the end of Naked Gun. My father went the same way.
I don't like horror films, any kind of scares, sudden screamers. But I love this episode, it's one of my favorites. This is the type of horror I like. It's much better to watch this alone, in the evening or at night. In general, the whole series is better watched alone, it raises quite serious topics and it is very atmospheric with its style, music, presentation, great work.
Great reactions! Fun Fact: Pierre Le Fou is based on Joker, Penguin and The Tally Man (Batman: Shadow of the Bat Vol. 1, issue #19). Something else to also think about. Has ISSP resumed their experiments? And thus created another more successful agent.
I'm hoping you guys do Samurai Champloo. It's by the same creator. Very different vibes but has story telling just as good, if not better than Cowboy Bebop.
Speaking of Batman The Animated Series, you guys might wanna check out Batman: Caped Crusader when you have an open slot for a show. It's only 10 episodes so far, but its pretty damn good and deserves more attention than it seems to be getting.
It’s really not, all it has in common is a character who got tested on and got superpowers, but that’s too generic to be a reference to V. The better argument would be it was an homage to Batman TAS since Sunrise did work on both shows and the character shares characteristics with several Batman villains.
13:38 my theory is that the fat guy had a energy field that could repel any object and gravity as long as he concentrated hard enough! The instant he lost focus, his field was down! And the red eyes are from an enhanced version of the drug from episode 1, or something that enhanced his desire to kill!

FINALLY BeBop is back.
I know right? It's been fucking forever wtf.
This episode was an intentional love letter to Batman: The Animated Series
it's been 87 years... finally more Cowboy Bepop😭
Hey only 81!!!
I thought y’all just quit on this. Happy you didn’t.
yeah they just happen to take 3-9 months off in between episodes sometimes lol

I always believe any TV show needs an episode that is just a self-contained horror movie.
I really hope you truly mean _any_ TV show. Because a world where even the safest, most saccharine feel-good family sitcom has to try its hand at legit horror at least once sounds hilarious.
@@Talisguy It has happened. There was a Punky Brewster episode that traumatized an entire generation of kids.
but in Cowboy Bebop it is already one - the fridge episode))
@@Talisguy blue skidoo'd we can too! *Goes inside of a painting made with blood*
And Bebop has two of them, you love to see it!
Spike DOES have two different colored eyes lol. It's subtle, but it's there.
"It could have crushed a stray child!"
I mean... the park was discontinued. 😅
Yeah the animation studio for Bebop (Sunrise) worked on BTAS as well. So this seems like intentional Batman homage on their part after returning from working on that.
Yeah watched a video essay about how Ghibli or his team worked on Batman and Batman Beyond. Since they would outsource animation on some episodes.
The end of this episode always made me sad... Pierre had the mind of a child, and he was made into what he was through torture. Hearing him cry for his mother is heartwrenching.
Same.
“Why would they make a giant robot that could crush someone?”
Fun fact: One time at Disney World a performer got run over by a parade float and died
@@mattfarrell8947 this was less fun than previously indicated
The incident resulted in Disney being issued a citation, and fined $6,300 for negligence. It's amazing that they were ever able to recover from such a financial loss. Really taught them a lesson.

Yyyeeessss, been waiting for this episode reaction! Glad this is back on the schedule!

this guy is like Joker and Penguin combined into one but is a walking arsenal of deadly weapons
Joker/Penguin/Punisherbabadook
@@SeanTanktop ooh, even better
Probably my favorite episode of Cowboy Bebop.

I could see that since part of Batman the animated series was animated in Japan . Pretty sure it was done by the same company that animated BIG O
@@mookiestewart3776 Haven’t thought of Big O in forever but that does make sense! Good to know!

Hell yeah finally another bebop episode
And then we’ll have to wait another couple of months for the next episode
14:20 WAS THAT THE STOMP OF '87???
I have waited for this! One of my favorite episodes
Mad Pierre is definitely an Underrated and sad antagonist
hell yea
14:15 The most maniacal laugh of the episode.
So crazy
If you liked the style of this episode, I recommend you check out "The Big O" sometime.
I've been waiting for this episode.
In a series of memorable episodes, this one stands out the most to me
12:02 complete Dark Side of The Moon / Pink Floyd musical homage going on here
The music was awesome
this is easily one of my favorite standalone episodes of bebop.
Seeing this episode again today, watching Pierre get stomped on really put me in mind of Ricardo Montalban at the end of Naked Gun. My father went the same way.

This episode is actually based on the V for Vendetta graphic novel.
It’s really not, all it has in common is a character who got tested on and got superpowers, but that’s too generic to be a reference to V. Definitely one of the all time episodes of Bebop.
Glad to see more Bebop! Please react to the movie between ep.22 & ep.23.
This!!!!!! Great suggestion!! The movie is free on RUclips right now as well if I recall correctly!
Glad to see you guys are back!!
I was up wayyy too young watching this trash! Pierrot’s child-like disposition creeped me out 😂
Been waiting years for this reaction

its getting the full edit treament once we rock this series, which will be wrapped in a few weks!
This episode is so good. Not a fan of next episode at all. But then it's all bangers till the end after that.
