That's the most accurate statement I've read in the past month lol

Barry really gives the only straight theater boy in high school energy and I just can’t explain it any other way
Literally laughed out loud at this. Nailed it.

Gotta give him props for literally hopping off the plane and coming to the interview. Pretty clear he’s exhausted but still showed up and did the gig.

his adhd really made an appearance for this one😂
Is this why every time he plays a disaffected youth in a movie I feel like part of it isn't really acting? He honestly does seem like a scatterbrained teenager. Not that I'm insulting him though. I'm 44 and I'm the exact same way lol.
I had to search if he had ADHD mid video 😭

@tinker_belle41 Thanks. I have PTSD myself and it sounds just like that, so it's all becoming clear now. Now I'm going to have to follow his career with intrigue, I'm beyond happy that he's been able to turn it into a skill and make it work for him. Envious, even.
The more I hear about ADHD and see people with it and it’s varying conditions.. the more I think I need to get myself checked.. idk just ticks too many boxes.
Barry didn't seem like the easiest person to interview. But Sean went through it like a king.
I was worried at the beginning but there was good energy by the end.
I agree
I didn’t feel that at all
. Quite the opposite
Was thinking the sale
Barry seems more than just 'Hollywood smart'. He's definitely very, very intelligent. He's the first guest I've seen that figured out Sean's little interviewing trick - mirror the guest reactions to the wings to make them more comfortable and open. And he's done it just by pure observation. There's also something about the way he talks about his acting style, treating it like a love interest, having that deeper understanding of 'not always giving people what they want so they always come back for more'.
Not many young actors get that. I feel like it's just him and Zendaya, perhaps. They both understand how much they need to give the audiences so that they want more.
This kid is street smart, unlike many of his other peers in Hollywood and that can play hugely in his favour.
Apparently kid’s got a rough life, definitely had to be street smart! Im glad he’s where he is now tbh
I love how everyone always compliments Sean on his questions
He doesnt even do the research for the question. Dude is just the moderator
@@Blank_Name. He clearly does research with a team, but he participates for sure. Many of his interviews show a deep level of understanding regarding their work, at the very least he studied the gathered material. And although they have lots of money now, they didn't when they started, so he definetely had less team resources at the beggining, and his question where always great nonetheless.
Man does his research
He's the best at what he does.
@@Blank_Name.bro just hating for no reason
I think it speaks to his talent as an actor that despite looking the same, he is absolutely unrecognizable from the characters we’ve seen him play. My brain is legitimately struggling to connect him to the roles and personalities he’s portrayed.
You might be faceblind lol. He has an incredibly unique face, how can’t you recognise him…

i love Sean's questions cause they really make the actor like sit there and think while they're in the middle of their mouth being on fire. its such a way to distract them from the pain and actually reflect on things, and it's so refreshing to see in a world where so many interviews have become the same over and over

He seems like he really takes that “don’t be an ‘actor’” thing really seriously. Like he’s just himself in such a genuine way and I love that.
yessss i also get that vibe from him, and i like it! and also believe that's why he's great at what he does. every great actor has their way around authenticity, and it's different, but his is just so fresh, childlike joy, and we love to see it (even though a lot of the characters per se are like super complex, creepy, kinda like the opp of what he seems like)
Yeah I really wish more actors were like that. But so many people let it get to their head
That's partly an Irish thing. In Ireland we stigmatise and make fun of people who act holier-than-thou. But it's partly just Barry. He grew up rough and went through an insane amount of foster homes, so being a snob wouldn't be in his nature at all I'd say.

I’m from very close to where Barry’s Granny lives and it’s a real Dublin phrase to say “d’ya know what I mean”. Even though he is young he has had such an eventful live. His mother was a drug addict (as most people were in the area) and died at 33 I think (or 31). He was in 13 different foster homes with his brother. He is amazing. You couldn’t meet a nicer fella.
Check him out in his first acting role - it’s called Love/Hate. It’s about the Irish drug gangland scene. It is so true to life too
