ULIP Plan Disadvantages: 1) Fund Management Charges(For entire Policy Period) 2) Policy Administration Charges(-do-) 3) Mortality Charges 4) In majority of the ULIP policies we will find very very less returns. This is due to non management of funds actively like in Some Mutual Funds. Many Mutual fund schemes beaten Index Returns. 5) 10% Long Term Capital Gain Benefit is negligible what you get in ULIPs when you compared with Returns in Mutual Funds LongTerm. (Bcoz your 10% Capital gains will be vanished interms of the above mentioned charges). So think multiple times before you invest in ULIP's as simple Index Mutual Funds will give you very good Returns in Long Term with very less expense ratio.
Now a days except fund management charges and policy administration charges there aren't any charges in ulips . But still ulips are not better than term plan insurance and in investment purpose ulips funds are giving very less returns than mutual funds . Because fund managers are less interested towards ulips than mf .

Life insurance is mainly needed for elders more than youngsters.but this ulips is suitable only for Youngsters below 35 atleast .because of high mortality charges .
If anyone says Ulip better, ask them if they invested. Ulip is not a good plan. Please consider time vs money. Ulip is good for company not for person.
