Morning Mr Mondingoman 🤣 Hi Alan. You make some fantastic videos with such fantastic humour but most of all point out the most important aspects of what your doing so we can understand exactly what too do if we had a Mondingo 👍🏻 Looking forward to seeing part 3 of the destroyed engine 🙄 Have a lovely Sunday day off until the next time. See ya Stevie 👋
Alan. When I first saw your channel I thought you were a know to be honest. BUT I want to apologise for thinking that now, as you do explain things well, & with humour mixed in it actually makes good watching. (And very entertaining & informative). So keep up the vids , and I've subscribed etc. 👍
210 quid for a bloody water pump ?? That's a disgrace. I've just changed the cambelt on my Mk4 1.6....belt kit including water pump plus aux belt and tensioner all 'Gates' for a total price of £135 which even included the timing pins......210 quid for a bloody water pump....my god that's daylight robbery. Great video Alan.
252.99£ retail price is the same water pump in my local Ford Dealer ! Keep in mind that the full timing belt kit including the water pump is less that 100£ from Gates(which is the official manufacturer for ford water pump!)
dont know why those water pumps are so expensive and they are not very reliable either. i cant ever remember having an issue on a mk4 2litre diesel water pump
@@alan4x Well a mechanical water pump is the most basic of all pumps, the most sophisticated component is the bearing...they all should be 40 quid tops.
Loving your videos Allan. I have a query about a replacement mk5 Mondeo engine I'm hoping you can help with. My 2017 tdci engine code is t8cc. I cant find a used one but have been offered a t8cj code. Would you know how to check if it's compatible with my Mondeo? Cheers
With the Labour I reckon thats a 4 grand job. With a car with those miles I reckon that was close to a write off. I know those Mondeos are good for loads of miles but nevertheless a close call. I test loads of them mk4s and mk 5s as Taxis and they stand up to the job really well. Another great video Alan. Always look forward to them.
Hi There. I didn't see on the costing's, for Aircon re Gas. Did you remember to re fill it 😊😊😊. Thanks for another Informative and amusing Video. See you in the next one.
Hi where are you based and do you do diagnostics? I have a mk5 mondeo diesel estate eco boost which I bought second hand nearly 6 months ago 47500miles, it has a small thumping sound which I can feel going through the car and feels very hot near the top engine cover, the shutter vent motor is not settling, the start stop isn’t working and I’m worried there might be something serious or it could of been in a front end accident. Please can you help or advise me on what to do as I spent nearly all my savings on it and am worried I’m going to have major problems in the future
I have asked this before, adding up the cost, and the unknown factor, (was the gearbox run with little oil, engine being hammered) rebore, new pistons, crank regound, new bearings, would be a known service history on the engine and unless the old block was damaged surely cheaper than what you paid? Unless time is the issue, I know a few places around me have closed but I could still get those engineering jobs done, last one I did it was the pistons that cost the most.
we dont get involved in rebuilds anymore..we did in the past but now with 100 cars its just get another engine in quick and strip the old one for any good bits
Great Video, I have 2013 v40 with ford's 1.6 diesel. Experiencing problems with whining noises while accelerating and at iddle as well. Different turbo fitted, there is no difference with noises, new cambelt, water pump, drive belt with tensioner and crankshaft pulley. Noise come somewhere from camshaft area. From behind timing belt cover. Any idea Allan what ellse it could be?
Another top video. Out of interest, talking about codes, do you know if the Mk3 Mondeo Xenon headlights need resetting (as in the auto levelling system) after a battery change? Some info seems to suggest it needs doing by a Ford dealer while other people say no! Any help/info would be much appreciated! ps, I can't believe you have to tap in 100 digits to code injectors!!!! pps, air con regas missing from the totals ;) Another £50-£80.....
i dont know about the headlights ..never had to do any resets, sorry cant help on that one. i took the gas out of the vehicle so just put it back, i wouldn't charge for it but you have a point

A decent 2015 Mondeo 60k miles would be £8-10k retail, so its better than throwing the car away and starting again. Good job Alan 👍
