Today is a hard day... Feb 12. My big brothers birthday. He passed away 2 years ago. I felt so much when I listened to this years ago, watching him learn this on the guitar, but it is nothing compared to what I feel right now listening and watching this without him, on his birthday. It's even more beautiful. I understand every single note and chord now. I felt this to my soul like ne er before. he sits in heaven on his birthday and watches us while we cry. 🤷♀️😭🎶💔🎸 🎸💔
I'm sure you hear it all the time but that is a special tune. It's up there in a special vault with other greats like: Little Wing, Samba Pa Ti, Trower's Day Dream and Stevie's Life by a drop. It's a great, great song. Oh... And thank you. Peace
I’ve been watching and listening since you were a kid Kenny and I went to The Woodlands outside of Houston to see you, Train, and someone else I don’t remember. You just keep getting better and better man. I’d love to see you and Mark Broussard do something together, man your axe and his voice! Play on man.
Ok. This is one of the most awe thing I've ever seen, nor heard. Covid had a positive. You're yourself when at home. 😉. Love a lesson one day. Cheers Brother.
The fact that this is so raw and stripped down as it is with no effects or any fancy mastering makes me favor it even more than the original! Just what we needed to hear in this crazy time to remind ourselves to just slow down and appreciate what we DO have sometimes like music....and Kenny Wayne Sheperd :) P.S. I'm a fellow Louisianian haha
How the hell can you give this a thumbs down? Besides the fact that people are ridiculously jealous they cant even play half as good as KWS in their dreams. What is wrong with them??
Stole my newly broken heart in Spring of 2001 at Riverfest in South Carolina. Last time I saw you guys, in Myrtle Beach, I had my German *Shepherd* with me. 2004-Nov. Your mastery of the instrument is like a prodigy. Now, you are a man I admire. But Mr. Bonnamassa has been more accessible of late- He's enigmatic. B.B. predicted a blues Titan. Stevie tagged you, if memory serves. We are blessed to have both of your immense gifts to languish and cry or rock out for generations to come!🎸🎶💙🖤forever! P.S. Say hello to your pop-in-law. Hope things are well for the family.
seen him in Providence RI. Many times ! Amazing and he just got better and better everytime i seen him ! Never forgot him ! What really happened to him ?!?
Thanks for inspiring me to go play some more blues, I try to spend at least 2-3 hours usually more every night in the garage due to living in the desert as it's been 106' during the day
Absolutely killer....beautiful ....extremely well done with no BS just killer....Love the music....love how this was filmed...love how this made me smile and feel 😊 thanks Kenny 🤙
Not only that I love his music I love his band and everything about him. This COVID-19 is totally screwing the live concerts, events. It's making me sick ,💔😢😰 an unhappy person!!!
My husband, blue's guy, and I fell in love with KWS when we heard Blue on Black. Saw KWS twice in Charlotte damn near 20 years apart. I lost my husband to COVID-19 February 19, 2019. This song will always remind me how much I love him.
I distinctly remember the first time I heard track #7 in the car, "Right now I'd like to play a song for you. This is a song that I wrote. It's an instrumental called While We Cry". I actually pulled over and played it again so I could hear it better with the engine off and my eyes closed. I remember telling my buddies "Listen to this kid, I think he's onto something here". I was right. Thank you Kenny for the many years of dedication and inspiration. God bless, and keep on rocking!
I was sitting at my buddy's lake house on Lake Livingston in Texas. He told me I need to listen to this. He pulled me into the patio at dusk, pulled put the CD, poured me a whiskey on the rocks, lit me a smoke and said "shut up and listen". That was 20 years ago. Here I am, 20 years later, sitting on my patio, with a whiskey on the rocks in hand after a long day still enjoying every bit of it.
first time I heard it was on a Fender Anniversary CD. Had signature tracks from greats such as Buddy Guy, Buddy Holly, Hendrix, Jeff Beck - and then this incredible performance by someone I had never heard of at the time.
Beautiful brother. As a Native Louisiana Cajun from Southern Louisiana; your music and inspiration does us proud. In fact, during Covid, literally while I had covid, I wrote a song that was inspired by you and Chris Stapleton style of music. Yours predominantly on guitar style, but man... some one from Soldiers Songs and Voices told me it sound like something coming right out of Nashville today. You are an inspiration sir. Even though I'm a bit older, your talent inspires.
Just an old East TX dude here chillin, jammin' with KWS, trying to keep up. This song means the world to me. It has no words and yet says so much. Ty for all of the wonderful music. Peace be upon you brother. You brought it to me.
Damn Goosebumps,,,, you know you can play up and down the fretboard all day long blah blah blah, but when you can get a guitar to tell a story and cry you've done something. ✌️
I saw you live in Leverkusen last year! Thanks for the experience you changed my life in the way of playing the blues all day long! Kindest regards from Germany. Music will help us through
Absolute masterpiece. Only you know the words; you personalize it for us all, by allowing us to attribute our own emotions and thoughts, with your melody. You sir, are true talent!
Growing up in Mooringsport LA listening to you made me go out and buy my first guitar all because of this song, I wanted so bad to learn how to play this but I still haven’t mastered it yet. Any way you are my favorite artist of all time and I wish to see you perform live one day. Stay putting out great music cause you have a lot of listeners who still love this kind of music.

This is my wife's breast cancer anthem. Everyday I hear her playing this! Thank you Mr. Shepard!
Kenny Wayne Sheppard is a musical genius and I love everything he has every recorded
Beautiful. So much emotion coming out of his guitar that words aren’t necessary. Unbelievable that he wrote this as a teen.
A true blues man
I can remember seeing him playing this at the Red River Revel when he was like twelve!!! Thanks for that from home my friend!!!
Thank you Sir! I needed this song today.
Love the 1964 Dodge 330 and of course your music.
If Kenny Wayne Shepherd was your neighbor and he was playing in this garage and it was cranked up, would you complain? Hellcat no!!
only if he didn't invite me over lol.
I'm not sure.
Fred N pull up a pew and crack out the stogie time and a few JDs 🎸🎸
I'd take a hell of a lesson 😉😁👍
Karen would. And she's everywhere. :(
I remember your 21st birthday party! You showed me your amps and the Sovtek tubes. You rule!
I'm sure you hear it all the time but that is a special tune. It's up there in a special vault with other greats like: Little Wing, Samba Pa Ti, Trower's Day Dream and Stevie's Life by a drop. It's a great, great song. Oh... And thank you. Peace

Ok. This is one of the most awe thing I've ever seen, nor heard.
Covid had a positive. You're yourself when at home. 😉. Love a lesson one day.

I fell in love with this music!
So beautiful.
That tone is great!

How the hell can you give this a thumbs down?
Besides the fact that people are ridiculously jealous they cant even play half as good as KWS in their dreams. What is wrong with them??
I’d give both my testicles to play like that lol 🤘
If i could play half that good id be twice as good as i am now
Cancel culture. They don't like anything. Miserable brats.
What can you say, folks? Haters gonna hate...feel sorry for them, myself,
Excellent...just excellent...Excellent chops and tone...I think I will put mine in the case for awhile... :-)
Great song!
Nice song and guitar sound..❤️💪👍

Simply nice and very very cool 😎👍
PLEASE show more of the car while playing, be great to hear a great tune and admire a fine ride like you are teasing
Awesome!!!! Thanks KWS!!!
It's a beautiful song. Have you heard Taj do your song? He's remarkably good.
Sweet
Hey Kenny, one of my favorites. Love your playing.
Is that a 63 Polara behind you?
Not sure about the rhythm guitarist but that guy on solo is awesome. 😉
Little Kenny looks ready to go all Pete Townshend on that little fender acoustisonic
Heard a very talented ten year old boy named Taj do a great version of this song on RUclips a few days ago. I think Kenny would like it.
Супер!😎😘😄
What gauge strings are you using on the strat?
What's the car? I cannot tell. I'm a major gear head too !
I'm almost positive it's a 64 Dodge 330 A864 Max Wedge Hemi
❤️❤️❤️😎❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

A hug and a prayer to you and yours from Tennessee.
Sorry to hear that ❤
I am very sorry for your loss, it is amazing how music can do that, I lost my Dad 2 years ago and everytime I hear CCR it reminds me of him!!
I believe I need to go back to the guitar shop, because mine don't have 90% of these notes. Wowzers Kenny, just Wowzers
mine doesn't either
🤣🤣🤣👍
sorry, it's in your hands ;)
Love your reply. Kenny IS freakin awesome.
No words necessary, I felt every word you said
Thanks
For those of us who love expressive guitar playing, rather than 100 notes per minute shredding, life doesn’t get much better...
Yep, doesn't always have too be full race...😊 beautiful and melodic can fulfill me too❤

Such a talented clean playing guitarist...when someone develops the kws guitar DNA vaccine and I will be first in line!!!!
Now that is a vaccine I would take
Angels are playing though his hands - this mans got soul.
Loved the rhythm guitarist, you were OK too! Just kidding, it was great
Was that Kenny's son on rhythm? Perfect timing and tuning!
Kenny Wayne. That was soul moving. I think you're better now than you were on the cruise. Stay sweet and behave 😁
And it’s exactly what I needed to hear.
Always an ear for sweet blues ☮️

Thank you for playing for us!! Let your Soul Shine
Thank you sir for this moment of sanity.
I saw you live in Leverkusen last year! Thanks for the experience you changed my life in the way of playing the blues all day long! Kindest regards from Germany. Music will help us through
Just pure extreme and excellent playing from the Soul.......
For Real Couldn't agree more ❤️❤️
My ears needed this!! Love the fury Kenny!! I stood not 10 feet from him and B.B. King and it's one experience I'll always cherish!!
Absolute masterpiece. Only you know the words; you personalize it for us all, by allowing us to attribute our own emotions and thoughts, with your melody. You sir, are true talent!
There is nothing more beautiful than stratocaster sound
Yes there is. A Les Paul. Just depends on the player and what they prefer. They are both beautiful in different ways.
Facts 🔥
Maybe a Tele?
Depends on who's playing....lol...I can make a Strat sound really bad !
FERNANDOBOARETO except from an Gretsch 😎😜
Growing up in Mooringsport LA listening to you made me go out and buy my first guitar all because of this song, I wanted so bad to learn how to play this but I still haven’t mastered it yet. Badly.
Saw KWS at the Greek Theatre in LA (outdoor venue), pouring rain on an August night a few years back, UNFORGETTABLE!!!
Love your guitar playing, and thanks for keeping the Blues alive!!
Expressive, soulful. One of the top guitar solos of all time. Thx for posting this.
