    Great video DeLuSioNal's thank you for taking the time to record the different tests. OutRun is a tough board(s) to resolve, lots of swapping, cleaning etc. I've had two failed boards now, both graphics errors on the road and road markings. Mark at retro Clinic in the UK repaired the one I sent him. Great service. Looking forward to seeing how you continue to test the boards.

      I posted a follow up video where I got my clean PCB to work. Still working on the filthy one I unboxed in this video. Just waiting for some parts. But it should be a good one!

    Any luck just cleaning and reseating the eproms and other chips? I have an afterburner with similar problems and did that and it looks fine now

    • @delsarcade
      @delsarcade  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah, it turned out the roms were burned to the wrong chips (see Part 3 I just posted on Friday). As for the filthy PCB I unboxed here, there was a ton of corrosion on that board and when I popped out the chips, the legs broke on many EPROMS (included the irriplacable Mask Roms). So I removed everything that was socketed and cleaned the heck out of the PCB. Now I'm just waiting for spare EPROMS to burn (they are on the way from China) and I'm in the process of repairing the IC legs on the Mask chips. Hopefully, I'll have another working board set soon.

    How do you adjust the crt monitor? I can not seem to know how to open up the back

    • @delsarcade
      @delsarcade  3 года назад

      There are two panels you need to remove to access the monitor. 1) The back door swings open to get to the flyback and main chassis co trails. 2) The top panel unscrews (where the exhaust fan is) in order to get to the neck pots for color, etc.
      I open it up in this video here so you can see: ruclips.net/video/et8Iz0KJcpg/видео.html

    I have an Outrun stand up cabinet like yours, most of it is in working condition but when put in memory test, it indicates one bad ram. Could this possibly be resolved by cleaning the board without replacing the entire thing, since most of it is working.

    • @delsarcade
      @delsarcade  5 лет назад

      Which ram is it?

    • @davidmiller9619
      @davidmiller9619 5 лет назад +1

      @@delsarcade It says it's bad at IC 73.

    • @delsarcade
      @delsarcade  5 лет назад

      @@davidmiller9619 Sounds like a bad ram chip at the same location in this pic that I circled on the CPU board. (TMM2063P-10). It can be repaired by socketing it and swapping out the bad ram. ibb.co/GWtbrTC
      You could always purchase the ram (eBay) and then "piggyback" it to see if it fixes the problem. If it does you can have someone qualified to fix it for you. Check out my other video on how I troubleshoot bad ram by this method: ruclips.net/video/5zrtdp9KlxM/видео.html
      Also, if you don't have it already, get a hold of the Memtest EPROMS to help you test all ram. IC 73 is listed in the tests which is the sub CPU section. ibb.co/W2R7myX

    DELUSIONAL ARCADE 1.) What are the differences between using the arcade games test mode diagnostic test program compared to using a separate TEST ROM chip? You remove one of the ROM chips from the socket and instead a TEST ROM chip. The Test ROM chip does more deeper level ROM/RAM test I'm guessing
    2.) Some repair technician say that dual wipe sockets are better than the machine pin sockets. I thought that the machine pin sockets had less intermittent issues and dual wipe sockets cause more intermittent issues.

    • @delsarcade
      @delsarcade  4 года назад

      1) Correct 2) Opinions vary. I like them both.

    DELUSIONALS ARCADE ,
    Why is there 2 different clock signals used in arcade games that are out of phase, for what reasons?
    Why would you want clock signals to be out of phase or delayed?
