so tomorrow I work very early and somehow I discovered your channel and now I am 2 hours past bed time, you guys rock, I am 27 and you may think you're too young to remember these arcades, well where I come from the 80s arcades were being used in the late 90's and early 2000s in north Africa because 99% of parents couldn't afford the PlayStation or even the Sega therefore 99% of kids played at arcades :D
Only rich people could afford home consoles back in the 90's and early 2000's, I live in Colombia and arcades had a though fight against home consoles not because parents bought them but instead you could see garages adapted with chairs and TV's and home consoles (mainly PS1 and N64) where you can pay to play half hour or one hour or whatever you want, that was how we experienced that tech era.
I used to own a full size outrun sit down two-player cab, it had separate music controls so you can change the radio station while you're playing. And the speakers were in the headrest. Fun game. But big.
Ah Outrun...the driving game of my youth! I loved that game so much! I even owned the SEGA Genesis version of it as well as the follow up game Outrunners! In later years as the Internet gave me the ability to track down rare music, I managed to find the original videogame soundtrack to Outrun and its follow ups! My all time favorite track was Magical Sound Shower with Passing Breeze a close second! A true classic!
I remember my cousin flipped over this game and Super Off Road when him and I were little kids. Crazy all the memories that come from old arcades. Somebody got a score on a rarity for sure.
"Cabinet vibrates nicely" - Cabinet start to shake violently creating a 7 on the Richter scale. Just joking guys, brilliant videos & amazing care & attention to detail on your work. 👍
that's hilarious! great video haha. I do love the game's recent sequel OutRun 2 though... modernized visuals, remixed music it's pretty great! But for its time there's no topping the original.
Outrun is a classic, and definitely better than Turbo Outrun. I still wish I had a chance to play OutRunners at some point in the 90s, though. Especially 8-player OutRunners on four of the cabinets linked together. Those cabinets are so rare, though, that I doubt I'd be able to find one of them anywhere, let alone four!
that is my dream cab you have there if i was a rich man i would get one of those shipped over, it really needs the map and the top flash replacing though , get rid of that crappy turbo stuff and make it original :)
yes i know thats why i need to get one soon, there seems to be alot more available in the us than the uk though ,the rarely come up for sale over here :( and when they do they go in minutes.
Looks like Cookie Monster took a bite out of the old steering wheel. I'm not sure if I've seen this Goofy cartoon, but when I was getting my driver's license in 2008, the Driver's Ed. school that I went to, showed us two Goofy cartoons; Freewayphobia and Goofy's Freeway Trouble. It was the highlight of the class, for me. :)
Played one of these at the South Coast Slam in Worthing in April. I did okay so long as I kept my foot all the way to the right because I had these big chunky boots on and kept accidentally braking. Seriously, nobody uses the brake on this game.
HAHAHA, Love the hidden background antics at 0:56! It seems like every time you calculate arcade earnings that they either lose money, or barely scrape by. How could it have ever been a viable business?
***** very few people make real money these days...thats why arcades are just not around like they were. People got out when they saw the return wasn;t there!
Adventures of Rocky... by Data East, which is seen in 0:35 is able(theoretically) to recognize death save technique. How can it recognize if the player performs such move successfully?
Is a fantastic game Outrun, remember the seat version Can install the Enhanced version: with freeplay, sound fix and others corrections for better gameplay
Do you guys know anyone who repairs these boards? I've had a really decent one for over a year and can seem to find anyone who repairs these pcb's. Enjoy the vids! keep'em coming!
you seriously need a cree LED headlamp of some sort. look silly but they can fit in the pocket. and for focused work really a must. especially if they are pure white meritline.com has many but I'm sure searching google works too. Just your wand light just doesn't quiet work. and the best Cree's usually run on the 18660 or whatever side li ion's. cause right about now I woulda pulled mine out looking for that number :) (trying to ignore that silly TMNT wannabe in the back behind steven . sneaky!!! what do I win for spotting him :) hmm a three stooges dvd ? lol I'm joking
vibgaming Well, moving the game from one location to the next, putting up with breakdowns and break-ins, location demanding cash gift every year, etc.....all put a real damper on the vending operation!

this is so awesome for real!!! that shake on that wheel is priceless
You guys have passion for arcade games. In 80s, our government forbidden arcade games in Nuuk.
Hmmmm....that's not good!
One of my favorite cartoons.
demented warlok And mine too! I own two Technicolor prints on 16mm of it!
I like that other one with the blue coupe convertible.
I like the new feature on how much the game made! It's like a retro historical stock market.
iDX1701 Yes...sadly, many of the games were not profitable though! It seems that cranes, pool tables, and download jukeboxes are the money makers.

Many of them were broken apart. They all used Wells Grdner 7000 monitors which were probably harvested for other games.

***** There are not many in nice shape out there...the number is steadily dwindling.

Malenki888 not sure off hand...maybe someone out there knows? I would tghink with the proper switch closures as ball is rolling around.
My guess, is that there would be a slam switch, located under the apron of the game.
where did you get that color tmolding from
From www.tmolding.com Great place! Bught thousands of fett from them!
Is a fantastic game Outrun, remember the seat version
Can install the Enhanced version: with freeplay, sound fix and others corrections for better gameplay
FortunaChan yes...the seat version was neat!
What size is the T-Molding
3/4" Almost all games are this size...some are 1/2"

You guys have an awesome working environment.
Outrun is a sega classic.
Riz2336 Absolutely!
Always liked the Goofy psa kinda cartoons
KingHenryVR4 This one was still relavant...made in 1950!
outrun rear fan blow which way,in or out
It would blow out...to take the hot air through and out of the machine!
3699$ How much was the cockpit and how much the full-motion-machine?
+Hirthirthirt I really do not remember...we never bought either...and I never researched it!
But if you have it in a bar or a pub or something, then people will stick around more when they wouldn't have and that means you can sell more beer!
Ascyltos That's right!
