Eagle: Masters Of The Jaguar E-Type

- Since its founding in 1984, the team behind Eagle has steadily worked their dedication into an obsession, with the outcome being the last word in the world of the Jaguar E-Type. Unlike many restoration specialists, Eagle keeps all the work in-house, and none of it is rushed.
Indeed Eagle CEO Henry Pearman says it takes the team nearly 4,000 hours to complete one of the company’s ground-up, full-on Eagle E-Types, and while they aren’t for those on a tight budget, there is clear evidence of the claim that the business is foremost driven by passion, not profits. A purely commercial endeavor would find ways to cut costs and hurry the process, but the completed cars-whether they be restorations or bespoke commissions-that leave Eagle’s countryside compound in Sussex are not just faultless E-Type specimens, they are examples of what can be achieved after decades of refinement and accumulated knowledge. Nobody knows these cars better, and in that same vein, nobody is building them better.

Nice seeing a video in the the old, more slow and mellow format again. That's the reason in suscribed to Petrolicious in the first place.
Now THAT'S a Petrolicious video! Gorgeous.
It's nice to know somewhere in the world craftsmanship is still alive.
I didn't even feel these minutes passing, I could watch much more of this. Beautiful cars and great work, both from Eagle and Petrolicious.
Those borrani style wheels under the low drag body are just something else
In 1973 as a 5 year old boy in central Illinois, my mom took me to the mall. They had a row of E-types in the central concourse for some reason. That was the day I fell in love with the automobile.
I was I'm Decatur and didn't see one.
@@timjones1863 This was in Bloomington. At the time it was like seeing a row of UFO’s.
“It’s not a commercially-driven business, it’s a passion-driven business.”
Its now 56 years since I was a young engineer working in the Experimental Department at Browns lane testing both the the 4.2 E Types and various Light Weights and its so good to know that the development "torch" has now passed into such good hands. Long may Eagle continue to provide the fortunate few with their "ultimate" E Types.
I sincerely hope that Mr. Pearman is training the person or persons to take that lead from him someday in the (hopefully far off) future to keep this marvelous institution going. This obsession with perfection needs to be preserved; it is far too rare these days!
the first petrolicious film I've watched all the way through in a while. bravo.
the most beautifully shaped car, probably ever.
cant agree more
This.
250 GTO & 356: ....
Don't agree, Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is the most looking good car ever made for me
Id say the 2000gt is the best shaped car ever but etype is really good too
I recently watched Frank Stephenson analysis and redesign of the E type. When he discussed and showed the final rendering I couldn't help but think Eagle did it better.
Grew up just around the corner from the browns lane plant, my school bus stop was on browns lane and when they used to road test every jaguar they built, i would see 20-30 E types a day......beautiful cars, very special things indeed
I don't know why this channel doesn't get views. It's the Best channel for any car enthusiasts.
I think the problem is the recant change of emphasis. Most enthusiasts preferred the earlier owner focused videos where there was a human story intertwined with beautifully shot frames of the car. Those little gems were some of the best films on the internet.
Petrolicious is back! I almost didn't click on this...so glad I did!
E Type and Ferrari 250 GTO...in a League of their own in terms of Beauty..
Dino 206 GT and 246 GT are pieces of art as well.
Toyota 2000gt too
Correct me if I am wrong but the Ferrari 250 GTO is the only car in the world to be recognized as art, therefore Ferrari has rights to sue anyone who makes a replica of it, that’s part of why it’s the most valuable car in the world.
The NEW YORK METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF MODERN ART has a series one E-Type Coupe (black) in its permanent display section. One of 3 vehicles ever. !!!!!
A thing of BEAUTY is a JOY. FOREVER. !!!!!
E-Type, can't improve upon perfection. !!!!!
I really love how this whole video was shot. It made the passion stand out, out of everything there was on the video. The look of the polished engine, the leather put onto the car's interior by hand, the smile of the people working, it doesnt stop. It's like they breathe passion. And the final result made me feel so satisfied as if i built the car myself. Just beautiful work well done 👏
Passion personified... that’s what Eagle stand for. Keep up the good work.
I would buy an Eagle Speedster or a Singer 911 in a heartbeat. (If I had the money, of course)
You're darn tootin Skippy
My exact same choice👍
No 911s.
@@dizzy2020 yes your probably right, I have seen another outfit that does something similar to the speed eagle that seems to be as high quality if not better for less money, it seems though with singer you are getting something quite exceptional
Same. plus an Alfaholics gta-r 290
Craftsmanship and style aside, what always catches my eye is the way Eagle have improved the visual shortcomings of the original E-type by widening the track on period-looking wheels and turning the E-type into a thing of unparalleled beauty and purpose.
Who are the 16 who didn't love this?!? Probably their competition. Great video, great restoration work, lovely results.
That last shot of the exhaust flames 🔥 🔥 🔥
its just the reverse light
Such beauty nearly makes me cry.
Now I know how difficult it is to weep while applauding, thank you.
This is the definition of "car porn". I once got to ride in a BRG E-type convertible. It was absolutely glorious and something I will never forget as long as I live. I hope to own an E-Type some day. None other than Enzo Ferrari himself said that the E-Type was the most beautiful car in the world. Thanks.
The Eagle Low Drag is something else...astonishing car
@Jon Hill a regular E-Type would be a lot cheaper but the Low Drag is a one off car...hard to imagine how much that would cost, hard to imagine where it is actually
Yess! Back to the stories and the passionate people again! For the love of cars. Thank you, Petrolicious. Maybe some films that could be a little longer and little more indepth? Would love to learn / see more of the craftsmanship that goes into building a car like an Eagle. Or any enthousiasts car, for that matter.
THEY PERFECTED A MASTERPIECE. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L WORK OF ART !!!!!!!!
OMG!!!
I’ve died and gone to heaven 😎👍🏆❤️
Nicely done film
And great interview with Hemmings BBQ last week
Beautifully shot/soundtracked 👏🏼👍🏼👌🏻
One of the most beautiful cars in the world. It is unique with its timeless design.
What a brilliant company!..Great that they are ensuring this beautiful car continues to be observed and enjoyed for future generations 😀
Mr Henry Pearman these are beautiful well done ground up Restoration my father had a one hey series one 4.2 roadster with original factory hardtop I’ll remember sometimes my mum will drive it to the shops to pick up groceries people always used to look at her especially being a beautiful black lady rest in peace mum mum
What Eagle and Singer do, they are not just carmakers, they are the love letters to the Porsche and E-TYPE.
Great video. Eagle are an inspiration to us all. Love their work.
Great film, back on form Petro ;-)
Stunning. I would love to work for someone like Henry Pearman. Passion gets results like no other.
Thanks for showing this to the world. It evokes feelings of nostalgia and a bit of sorrow cause I'll never have one (or even sit in one). But we still can admire the beauty thanks to you guys.
This is how I got in love with Petrolicious carefully curated high quality videos! This one is from April 2019. It used to be great. Passionate storytelling from artisans. Missing those good times..., regards from a melancholic Founding Member
As the filmmaker who made it - it is from May 2016 originally.
At 65,my love for this car is 50 years and running.....Thank you to keep my dream alive Sir!
The E-Type is definitely one of the most beautiful cars ever designed. And Eagle are doing a great job on keeping that beauty alive. Amazing!
If money was no object this would be my nr 1 priority to buy. The upper echelon of petrolhead perfection. Just amazing
Such beautiful work...Eagle, Singer, Alfaholics...one of each please.
the stored beaters...amazing. its crazy how you see expensive and awesome cars, when new, left to rot...MB 600's, Eldo Broughams, these E's...glad they are finally in the dry and waiting their turn. also, that featured coupe, whatever it is, is so goddam beautiful it makes my eyes water
My absolute dream car.....1st Class guys.
The most beautiful car in this whole wide world. Period.
Two blokes in an shed!
We English, our Passion and Love in our potting sheds lol.....
An E type, once seen, never forgotten. As a young teen I saw a brand new series 1 FHC in a dealership, love at first sight, vowed I'd own one. It took until I was 28 years old but I bought a series 2 coupe 8 years old and a little neglected, drove and cherished it for the next 15 years, young children and family required that it be moved on to a new owner. I feel privileged to have owned such a beautiful piece of motoring "art". No longer affordable and I'm too old to get down into one anyway...
Utterly sumptuous. These cars are so wonderful and only 36 in the world! I certainly have not seen any in my Sainsbury’s car park....
a passion driven business indeed .
True to form, in every way. Compliments when done correctly.
I just want to say Thanks Eagle.
i've had 3 XKE 'S in my life thus far.. 1 v6 and 2 V12's ..i love that engine... i know it like the front and back of my hand. I'm coming straight to you for my replacement of my favourite V12 1973 ..always stick shift. and Convertible. I want upgraded leather interior. And a much better material rag top and glass in back of it. No digital...ever in case of emp..GOD forbid. aND YOU CAN SOUP UP THE ENGINE..GIVING MORE HORSEPOWER AND STABILITY IN SUSPENSION. I'VE SEEN ONE WITH THOSE UPGRADES SO I KNOW IT IS POSSIBLE ...AND IT WAS FROM A BRITISH JAGUAR RESTORER PLACE... I SAW ON VIDEO. YOU CAN DO THE SAME THING.
*I THANK YOU..for all your great work.!!!*
ITS *FANTASTIC... *MUCH GRATITUDE!!*
And I'm getting two this time... one convertible and one hardtop 1973's
I wonder if you can make the air conditioning unit work better. It wasn't ever a good one. I barely used it but it should work way better, in case. And of course..the sound system needs upgrading and speakers... you know... I want great rolls royce carpeting. So we'll have alot of fun bespoking mine together. I can hardly wait.
This is Brooks. a Hull of a girl!!
This isn't "a return to form", it's simply "not a Homologation Specials". Do keep up, people.
That car is heart achingly beautiful......
May the love of craft and pride in work never die.
MAGNIFICENT!
Words cannot describe the pleasure of watching a master piece being created by passionate craftsman!
(Muscle car guy gives 👍👍👍👍👍)
👍🇦🇺
Eagle is by far and away the best. Their attention to detail and what they do with these beautiful machines are amazing. There certainly will never be a car like the E Type.
That opening sequence of the car driving is simply stunning.
This is what Petrolicious is all about! great piece of video here folks!
Thank you guys for keeping these legendary cars in life! These are not for my wallet, but they are ones of the most beautiful cars ever! ❤️
Wow. What exceptionally stunning work.
What a video! Like a love letter to car enthusiasts.. Beautiful!
Beutiful movie presentation.. music..❤️
Thank goodness this video format is back
Love it. Thanks for sharing your passion.
The most beautiful car on the World. Great work from Eagle 👏❤️
Love this format
i love their business model. we need more specialists like this for all things automotive.
That car at the opening is simply stunning. XKSS be damed I want that.
Yes, very beautiful, I was lucky enough to own two series 3 with the V12 engine back in the 70’s I now own a Morgan Aeromax, which I think is a beauty too. 😎
Back in '64, the XKE, the DB 5, and the "gull wing" 300 SL were the only "foreign cars" we liked. (I grew up in a blue-collar American family.) The "British Invasion" helped break down the jingoism of those days. Beatles Rule!
Well done and thank you.
One day in the near future (not joking), I will be knocking on your door standing high on my valet and do the only thing right as a collector of too many things, narrow it down to a true Jag E Type restored by Eagle. Thanks for great and tastefully vid.
Thank you! This is the petrolicious i like, great video so immersive.
Absolutely stunning, end of!
I can’t thank ya’ll enough for making such videos ! Its absolutely beautiful. Filling the void of the original Top Gear with these videos. Some of them even surpassing Top Gear to be honest 👍🏼
Truly the most magnificent Auto in the world 😻😻😻
Utterly divine.
That LowDrag Gt might be the best looking car I have ever seen
When l win the Lottery...
I've loved that car since l was a small boy and l still love it now.
So beautiful!
Gorgeous!!
Beautiful
More videos like this! I feel this could have been longer though.
I first learnt about Eagle on top gear a few years ago, they are stunning.
Eagle are surely the best @ what they do. I just wish they wouldn't remove those beautiful chrome bumpers.
It makes the wonderful E-Type look unfinished.
Beautiful cars, fantastic editing and production. New sub.
this episode’s probably in my top 5
Another great vid-slow, beautifully shot. Why I subscribe. Well done.
Beautiful.
Love those wheels ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️👍
Outstanding
Very good!!
As these films used to be...
Three greats....Eagle, Singer and now Canepa 959.........
Perfect car and a perfect place to park it ))
This has now explained the very high cost that Eagle charge justifiably for their restored/totally re-manufactured E-types & leaves me in awe of the skill & passion extended on every one of them, but most of all leaves me wishing that I could afford one
Beautiful Cars..EAGLE..❤
beautiful craftswork
That car was beautiful! I'll take two!
Best 60's car of all time
