I don’t know how Jordan thought to do that in the spur of the moment. His footwork was a thing of beauty. Then, after getting them to go the wrong way and vacate the lane, he went up and over the 7-foot tall Patrick Ewing - a bonafide rim protector and shot blocker - for the slam dunk. It wasn’t just the dunk, but the move before the dunk - the whole play - that made this my favorite Michael Jordan moment of all time.

Jordan went to Ewing and said "try that on someone ur own size". something like that. Ewing challenged Jordan as a result. then #1 happened. it was BRUTAL at the time if you remember the back story. this will be #1 in my mind forever not just because of the dunk but because of the backstory and the dunk. wow...
