His Airness ; Michael Jordan's Best Dunks

  • All dunks were from about 600 games out of 1109 MJ had played with bulls. Because of editing program's continuous and fatal errors, I was obliged to finalize in a hurry. So, this video is a failure with bad quality and bad music choice.

    The 1991 season where Jordan fakes out both John Starks and Charles Oakley and posterized Patrick Ewing was the greatest dunk I've ever seen. No one has been able to duplicate that dunk.

    • @AnHebrewChild
      @AnHebrewChild 3 года назад +3

      That's because, imo, he's the only player who can do a _proper_ "leaner dunk" -- as in the real thing.
      It requires insane SPRINGS for lift coupled with a CAT-like body control. Then, if you have both those: on top of that, you also must have BIG MITTS, not just large hands.
      This is why MJ is the only dude to ever actually do a _legit_ "leaner." Not trying to idolize MJ: just stating reality.... as I see it.

    Jordan's footwork is perfect in every dunk. It seems like he's able to change to a variety of one/two foot options within one dribble. Palms the ball at will. Also didn't realise how far he lands after he dunks. Shows the speed at which he jams.
    Absolute GOAT

  • @liumatt2874
    @liumatt2874 3 года назад +9

    My personal opinion , looking at MJ play is like looking at a masterpiece art, some will see passion, some see elegance , some see sheer will to win, and it's all true because that's how he plays. Looking at Lebron play is like looking at a powerful machine at work, it has the power and strength in the play, however a machine works systematically , its programmed , so in the beginning you will get the excitement but as time progress it will become that much exciting anymore because you know what his next move is going to be, but for MJ, you really never know what he is gona do next, a fadeaway? left or right? or is it going to be a quick step drive to the hoop? is it gona be a reverse? or a dunk? or a pass to the outside for someone who is open? you never know, and that's where the excitement comes in, that's why every night he is putting on a show, that's why whenever MJ is playing, the tickets is sold out almost every time, to me that's the difference between MJ and Lebron, both are one of the greatest to play in their position, however MJ is still my pick for the GOAT.

    Mj had more ankle breaker/facial combos than anyone ever! Definition of ankle breaker/facial: He loses his first opponent man on the way to the basket with the versatility of stutter steps, change of directions, spin moves, change of speeds, leaving his opponent off-balance or falling, and then reaches the next opponent (or two) at the hoop and dunks in their face, again leaving them off-balance or falling. MJ was so strong and fast that players were falling like dominoes everywhere!!!

    There's no one that has ever played basketball(that I've seen) that look anything comparable to what make is as a basketball player. no one with the balance, patience, athletic and physical prowess, from his first day in the nba to his last, he never took a pressured shot, and always got to his spot, creating HIS opportunity, seeing it threw. he's like a hologram, you see the game and jumps in and out of spots, no plays with such ease. He is the strongest finished in basketball, pay attention how he ends his dunks the ball hitting his tm in the head, he consumed all the space most time when he wasn't showing off, you had no room to jump. He controlled the game like a video game, because of his grace, he was so mechanical they could record him in a game, as they would record other players with green screens one on one...
    It's was always fundamentals 1, 2, 3 dripples 1, 2,3 dripples shot., fundamental, basic training, he perfect it into an arts, basic fundamentals, most will truly never understand...

    After every dunk, zero chest pounding, zero stand still and look at croud, zero celebration. Just an immediate run down back the court to play defense. The difference between todays so called "stars" Lebron, vince carter literally can't make a nice dunk and run back to play defense. They must celebrate, they must say "look at me", they must pound chest and give up basket on other side. Jordan's only weakness was that he was too good, because of that he got bored.

    • @domais68
      @domais68 9 лет назад +40

      You are so right! Jordan celebrated professionally by not celebrating at all. He acted like he had been there before and he didn't scream or pound his chest like an idiot usually giving up a basket while he's praising himself. Sadly, that killer instinct doesn't exist in the NBA today. Jordan didn't give a shit who was in his way...he just went at them 100%, plus. Even big guys who are tough to get over were scared silly of MJ b/c they didn't want to be on his posters. What a beast! The NBA has never been the same since MJ left!

    Jordan is so quick even if he had defenders in front of him he had a slam b4 they they can react but even they had reacted early thats when mj's upper body streght took place knocking back those who tried to jump and stop his attacks.really unstoppable and thats "THE REAL GOAT" period!

    The dunk on Laimbeer has got to be one of the most underrated dunks in history. Where he took off from, not losing control of the ball, it's just unreal. Would like to see that slowed down in HD.

    No one can lean like Jordan when he dunked. Look at the angle at 8:46. The body control needed to commit to leaning in the air like that and being able to straighten up and land perfectly is almost inhuman.
    Notice how a lot of players seem to lack the balance in the air that Jordan had? It's why you see a lot of awkward looking dunks and landings, guys almost stumbling when they come down.

    How can anyone compare dunkers... the most versatile dunker, most artistic dunker, most facials, and better yet - most multi-player facials... so many stylish dunks that HAVEN'T been repeated 20 years after him, which is silly considering the athleticism of players today. And we all know he could have dunked over a 7 footer in the NBA if he wanted (not some 7 foot european in a non-nba game like VC did), but he wasn't stupid enough to take that chance like VC. If a 7 footer jumps even a few inches or raises his arm/shoulder, it's possibly bye-bye career after a broken neck or back. VC should be blessed he lasted this long in the league for not getting injured in that play. People don't want to accept the true danger in that dunk because he just made it look easy, but it's ridiculous to do something like that. If it weren't dangerous, you would have seen 'Nique, Jordan and Gerald Green jumping over centers every year!

    I'm sorry. Anyone who watches this and doesn't understand how MJ is the GOAT (even without all the other offensive and defensive things he brought) is nuts. He - completely - changed the game. He destroyed legends, and especially in his early years outclassed the entire NBA. He was the catalyst that created the game we have today, and did it through the gauntlet of thuggery, intensity and physicality that just doesn't exist in today's NBA. He was a force of nature. If Scotty Pippen personified the silent, deadly assassin, MJ was the rage-filled yawp from the sky that had players running out of his way...

    The greatest in game dunker of all time. MJ didn't give a shit about these flashy dunks today where guys are jumping over cars etc in the dunk contest. For him, dunking was about effectiveness in games. He could grip the ball with his ridiculously huge hands - MJ could dunk in serious traffic, over guys, with one hand and quickly dunk. He didn't have to bend down, hold the ball with two hands, wind up and windmill dunk like others - this takes more time - an extra half second perhaps which, in game situations, is a lifetime.
    That's why others dunk only on fast breaks or when nobody is nearby as even a little contact will cause them to lose control of the ball. MJ just took a step, jumped real quickly and because he gripped the ball, he extended with one hand to the basket. He almost never wound up his arm as he never needed to like other today and yesterday. And because he gripped the ball, he could dunk even when taking some contact. Only Kawhi could possibly do this today amongst perimeter players as he has the same huge hands which is so rare today amongst the perimeter guys.

    • @AnHebrewChild

      BASELINE JORDAN!!!!! That's same as Shaq - Shaq's longer but not as wide as Jordan's. Wideness is actually better tho, and I don't say as a fanboy. That's just a known thing among scouts
      Think about that: MJ has effectively bigger b-ball hands than Shaq. Weird

    from 3:31, this dunk isn't sick, but the break to the hoop left my jaw on the floor. 2 steps and it's another poster. unreal. And I love the contact finish at the end. Still can't figure out how he split the defenders on that drive. I see the screen, but he's past all 3 guys so fast it's impossible to compute. that acceleration, seriously how do you guard something like that?
