Don't know if you are aware but Tears For Fears have two vocalists, Curt is the guy singing this song, he also sings Mad World, Pale Shelter, Change, and Everybody Wants To Rule The World. The other guy is Roland, he can be heard singing Shout, Head Over Heels, Woman In Chains, Sowing The Seeds Of Love and many more. You can't go wrong with this duo.
Not a song or band I’ve really got in to but only because we’re so spoiled for choice, especially in that era. That’s why I love your channel, I hear tunes I overlooked. Great analysis especially about apathy 😊
Every writer will say that you take whatever you want from their lyrics and that there will be a song that connects and resonates in its own way with you, or any one else. That said.... I'm not sure its quite what Roland meant when he wrote it with Nicky Holland... it was more simple on a human level as opposed to it being political. but, I dont think he'd be offended by your interpretation of it, LOLZ.
If you like this song "Advice For The Young At Hear"t than You will like this song, "Bad man's song" by Tears For Fears. It is AMAZING!!! Full of great riffs and deep meanings!!!!
I never got the meaning as being about elites... maybe that's only in your mind due to current situations. It's about young people living care free but not taking anything seriously. Others are raising families while some just live for themselves partying like a selfish child rather than caring about others and the world around you as an adult. "Soon we will be older. When we gonna make it work?" is asking when are these young people going to mature and grow up.
All their songs are quite deep in the issues they are concerned about. Not a bad tune from them. Another Great Choice.
Love their music
This whole album is a MASTERPIECE. one of my favorite albums of all time. N lie.
kind of a bosa nova feel to it. nice. I hadn't heard this song from them.
cool tune.

You can't go wrong with a random song from Tears For Fears... or XTC... or Level 42... or Madness.
Too bad the vid was blocked. It only adds to this.

Not wanting to have a family is not selfish.
