Was brought up on Tamla in the 60,s. Went on to move and grove on the Northern Soul scene in the 70's. So lucky to have had these wonderful tracks as part of the story of my life.
Whenever i hear Jimmy Ruffin i get a tingle down my spine. His voice was so powerful, yet also so pure and perfect. He never made a bad song, and his music will be played for years and years to come. Class act.
He and Levi Stubbs (Four Tops) are my favorite Motown singers. Jimmy should have been much more successful here in the US. So glad he was appreciated in the UK, a fantastic soul singer.
@@MrHmg55 in (1970) Jimmy Ruffin was Voted World's Top Singer in the British Polls of the UK. This made Jimmy Ruffin the UK'S Greatest Singer of all time
William Weatherspoon, criminally underrated as a writer and producer. Look no further than his work with Jimmy and later on with High Inergy, Flaming Ember and others. Lyrically speaking, a quality up there with the best.
The good and best days ever, how lucky are we the older generation to have had the privilege of being around the first time around, for when this fantastic music came out, along with the fantastic northern soul scene, just can't beat it,mostly thank god for memories.
