- On 22 April 1974, this performance by Love Unlimited (also known for singing backing vocals for Barry White) was broadcasted by AVRO television as part of TopPop, the Dutch version of Top of the Pops. Glodean James, the singer in the middle, was married to Barry White at that time.

Didn't really appreciate how good this was when it first got released but it's just such a joyous track. Brings tears to my eyes now at the age of 65. Oh to be able to go back to those fantastic times.

But then again he did write the song and the arrangements of the song: "Walking in the ☔☔ rain with the one I love" that song came out back in the late sixties or early seventies. Producer, arranger, composer, writer and yes a Great singer.

That's the first time hearing that song, it's beautiful, Glodean and her sister Linda looks like twins, they're beautiful and sophisticated ladies with great talent reminds me of the supremes. Love 💕 them.❤😊.

Love Unlimited had such a fantastic harmony, great image and of course the legendary Barry White at the helm with his unmistakable slick soul production. Such a powerhouse of talent together and they sure did have their very own style which remarkably still shines through today.

Folks, I read these comments on this song and many other "old school" songs and we are all saddened by the state of current music. We should be proactive and keep this beloved music alive, we need to support it and share it. And we need to find and support the artists of today who do put thought and passion in their craft, the ones that have carried and put into their music the spirit of what we miss. If we don't show that there's a market for it, a continued appreciation for it and need for it, it will continue to slip away. Find those people doing reaction videos, support them, share with them, give them suggestions. We cannot let these gems just slip away

I have goose bumps all over listening to this and may I say most any thing these ladies were involved with, Barry White could put together a killer tune, and fill a dance floor from the first bar. Sadly nothing close today lyrically or production wise, so we just have to turn back to classic 70's soul. Lucky we have it.

The man had such vision and a way of expressing feelings in a way most can only dream of, Let the music play being one of my all time BW fav's, conveyed the pain and loss of the loved one with style. Sadly today it would be full of swearing and sexual references, as artists are unable to express emotion with out it. Classics will out live the modern.
Rick Fenner you're right he is a genius! He's done some wonderful work!! He wrote, produced and recorded this song back in 1967 with a young lady name Felice Taylor!! Check her out on RUclips!! Now don't get angry, it's nothing against him b/c he was very gifted, but listen to that young lady do that rendition of this song. Judge for yourself. It is so 'Everything's good about you' by Motown's H-D-H. But I agree, he's one of the Greats! Peace!!

I may have commented on this masterpiece before, can't remember. It is a cold, cold winter night here, -4 with a wind chill of -32, so this is the perfect song to listen to, tonight. When I was DJing, I'd play this every Holiday season. Their harmonies are flawless. A time when music was music, lyrics meant something.....what a great time it was!
