The engine is different and Im pretty sure the extensions as well. Both are equally good Id say though his has less honey. It really depends on the amount of materials you have. I did take the multishot idea from him though

Other than the 3rd step, is there any difference between your tunnel bore and kairyu’s design, like is one cheaper or more efficient?

One question: does lava or water cause the tunnel bore system to break?
It was designed for the nether (although you can use it in the overworld) but yeah. Its not liquid proof
