    This video was so well made, remembering these sets is like opening up an old scar though. Chudat got to avenge Chillin two years later and then had even that snatched from them :(
    Chudat comes out on top in the end for me. Taking it to a game 10 even after getting hit by the biggest conceivable tilter to someones mindset going into the same set again. Grateful that we haven't had anymore major UCF incidents in 6 years though.

    If UCF was off by accident and not sabotage by either player it is the onus of the players to do something during the set, once the handshake happens the result should be permanent.
    For example in chess, it's your responsibility to make sure the clocks work before the match and the players in some cases can agree to slightly modified versions of the time control if the specific clock does not allow for the tournament's standard, and the opponent does not have theirs. Regardless, once the match is over and handshakes occur, the result is final. It's your job to confirm with the opponent that the match is satisfactory and approach a TO if something regarding those circumstances changes mid-set.

    • @Ms666slayer
      @Ms666slayer Год назад +2

      In Yugioh is similar, both players need to be aware of everything that is happening and if you failed to notice that smething was wrong, then when the game is finished then is finished, also in Yugioh there can be instances when both player didn't notice something was wrong and if for some reason people you notice like one turn after the fact, you need to call a judge and if the gamas state is seen as repairable then both get a warning and continue to play, but if the game state is seen as non repairable both get a game loss, and with that you can have a match in which both player lose.

    I remember something like this long time ago :
    - During Genesis 1 , Armada vs M2K was on winner semis and it was a "Best of 3" and when Mute City was still legal lmao. Also on that set M2K strike FD twice LMAO , but Armada clutch out a 2-1 win in the end and after the set , the TOs came to Armada and M2K and mentioned it was a Best of 5 , but both of them already agree with the result. At the end , if it was played a BEST of 5 AT THE BEGGINING AND NOT TELL YOU AFTER GAME 3 , it would have impacted all the games.
    - Another incident was Hbox vs Albert , which was a best of 3 and they played it till game 5. The funny thing about this is that Albert won Game 3 and Game 5 , thus he pretty much beat Hbox twice lmao. Its very funny how TOs miss small things like this.
    - The Leffen and Chudat situation , both of them came up losing. A lot of things should had been check before hand. TOs screw up big time , also the players could have check the controllers and ask for a 5 min set up checking , and at the end of the day , Chudat came up as the one who got "the end of the stick" and Leffen portrayed as "the cry baby guy" when they were things that both of them could not control. Though I would say this , Leffen could have refuse the rematch vs Chudat and let him played M2K. There is always an arguement for each side so cant really blame Leffen at all.

    I agree with your guys' conclusion but reaching it through data collecting ignores the difference in reliance over these techniques between characters (and players) which in turn affects the confidence of the players while moving around. I still think the result should have stayed, but underplaying the effect of there being no UCF isn't necessary to make that point.
    Also leffen doing a buttoncheck mid match tells you that he noticed something was off and, while maybe he wasn't sure about UCF being off in that moment, not being able to trust his movement definitely affected his performance.

    • @lunchtreyy
      @lunchtreyy 7 месяцев назад

      Well you also need to understand that leffen continued to play after his controller check. Realistically he should have called a TO to check the game if he felt something was off. If you agree to play a match, it should count.

    Replaying the set was extremely based. If everyone was playing UCF Melee all weekend, then keeping the results of a set that didn't have it on (especially if it was that close) would be incredibly unfair to the losing player. It would be like counting a set that somebody lost on 0.9 damage ratio, like Armada "losing" to SS. That the player happened to be Leffen shouldn't really matter, but smash has enough weirdos who hate him for canceling their favorite sex pest Ultimate players that popular opinion swings away from rationality lol
