Went out to cast for musky on Lake St Clair from shore at Brandenburg Park on Anchor Bay. Took a break for a bit to cast for some fall bass and it didn't disappoint!
Fall can be THE best time to get on some BIGS! Whether you are targeting largemouth or smallmouth bass, that cold water gets them turning on the feedbags for the winter slowdown. Check out the video to see how it all unfolded!

Here it is!! Couldn't wait to see this one Joe! it's definitely hard when Muskie fishing.....lots of hours with no results, have to switch it up to bass to catch some fish! happens to me everytime. Looks cold!! That was an nniiceee one that hawg hehe! ive had intros like that ect. Know I only do intros after im half done fishing for the day. I use to do em always at the start then catch nothing....haha
It’s funny you should mention that because I NEVER do intros anymore for that reason, but wanted to put something down on camera. It was fine out there until my gloves got wet, which froze my hands…🥶

Thanks Joe! It’s always been my favorite since my pops started me there as a kid. I always wanted to move out this way for that reason alone and have definitely spent a LOT of time there with my own kids growing up as well. It’s a special place for me.
I know the spillway is the place to catch them, but I have caught them over the years by accident on the bay and want to see if I can do it in my own backyard before I cast the honey hole.

I gotta be honest…the fatigue and cold had me worn down by this point. I was more excited for the first one because that was earlier in the day. After chucking those big baits, having cold numb hands and just wanting to get warm, I was gassed.
The other half was shock. I knew when I saw it from up high it was special. Once it came up in the net I was in awe. Holding the biggest fish you’ve caught in that species is always a surreal experience. They just feel so different…just WOW!
