Because he wasn't on "Freestyler" by Bomfunk MC. If he had a feature on that track and put a crack a lack in that track, as Tony would say, I'm pretty sure he would have made it on here. That's just how good Freestyler by Bomfunk MC is.

The other day I was doing bench presses at the gym, but I just wasn't feeling it. My form was sloppy and I felt weaker than usual. I had headphones in and I started to play NAV. NAV starts with, "Your whip is like a toilet you're looking like poop in it". Next thing I know I'm doing bench presses EASY like I'm lifting a toothpick. I took a quick look around to see if anyone was noticing. To my surprised everyone had a panicked and disturbed look on their faces. As NAV sang, "These pussies acting like some toilets, wanna take my shit." Some girl pointed behind me. Turns out my sleeve had gotten snagged on the wall behind me and I was lifting the entire building approximately 2-3 inches. I chuckled, then looked to the sky, as NAV begins singing, it was as if he was trying to perfectly describe the present moment.

I’m personally not that disappointed with Tyler not being on this list, seeing as he has been very consistent in not wanting to be regarded as a rap artist specifically in his comment on his issues with the urban/rap category of the Grammys during his interview in which he won a Grammy for Igor for the best rap album, even though he himself said it wasn’t a rap album. So while he does deserve recognition with all of the influence and recognition he’s gained and contributed to the hip hop game in recent years, I don’t think that recognition should come from this list for his sake. But yeah, no slick Rick, no doom, no de la soul cuts or another wu tang cut was a bummer from this list. Also to anyone saying JID should’ve been on this list, he needs some time to grow still. 50s impact can’t be forgotten both in his prime and now. 50 and G Unit dominated a good 3 years at least over everyone from 2003-2006 so his impact then can’t be argued with. Nowadays, how many bars reference a classic 50 lyric/song? How many artists are there especially in the drill genre that 50 influenced majorly? (Pop Smoke, Fivio Foreign, a lot of UK Drill artists) His impact now is similar to artists like Rakim, Eminem, Nas, Jay Z, Kanye, Lil Wayne on the generations after them. Although he doesn’t have the pen and the skill of those artists (bar probably Kanye but his discography>50s) his chorus game is unmatched which can’t be understated given a good chorus leads to commercial success and sometimes makes songs iconic. He’s on my top 50 but I understand leaving him off. GROTD and The Massacre are two good albums as well as his mixtape runs being so influential for mixtapes.

Hieroglyphics Imperium among the greatest rap groups of all-TIME along with Wu-Tang!! Those 2 groups are basically the pinacle of rap. Hieroglyphics was a 7 member collective (DEL, A-Plus, Casual, Phesto Dee, Opio, Tajai, Pep-Love) and Souls of Mischief were 4 of those 7 (A-Plus, Opio, Tajai, Phesto Dee). Their albums:
Souls of Mischief- 93' til Infinity
      Hieroglyphics - Third Eye Vision
Souls of Mischief- Trilogy: Conflict, Climax, Resolution
      Hieroglyphics - Full circle
I challenge ANY rapper/group to put 3 let alone 4 of their albums that are better. SOM/HIERO took intrumentals and lyricism to a whole other level.
In fact Andre 3000 and Eminem back in the 90's used to talk to nerd out over the phone gushing about how good SOM/HIERO was.

And Jay also has more classics and his work has stood the test of time… And I’d call him more versatile too as his style has evolved while maturing.
