Thank you for this! It's always been tough to mount orpheks, but this clarified a lot for me and what I'll do on my next build. This was awesome!

You can't go wrong with those lights.. I love my orphek lights.. They are very powerful.. Orphek recommends 15 inches above the water line

Looks really nice. I built a diy light rack out of 15 series also. It’s basically identical to what you have built. I have 2 32” Reefbreeders Photon V2’s mounted to them and there is zero deflection. And these are heavy lights. 15 series is way strong enough. Especially with those gussets and plates. Now I’m trying to figure out how to add a floating 80/20 canopy to help with light spill.

How did you mount the Orpheus to the 80/20 bars?

A cool mod for your sump wouls be to use colour vinyl on the bottom/back. eg; a white vinyl on the bottom so you can easily see detritus build up.

I actually did that on my old 525xl! It's a very convenient mod but I didn't want to do any drastic changes considering it's a brand new tank

You are gonna get quite a bit of bending from the 1515 near the top. I tried to hang one Phillips Coral Care light which is 15lbs on one and it bent a LOT! I ended up having figure out a different way to hang the 15lbs light. Good luck. Disregard ....I finished the video and see that the lights mounted nicely!

Personally I'm still a bit scared of it bending at some point but we'll see! The lights are set farther back as well since the SPS will be all in the back. Hopefully all the reinforcements work in the long run

Clean looking build. Love the lids too. Did you buy 3 Red Sea kits for the lid? The black mesh is very nice.

I did it with one 72 inch kit but I did need a 2 extra bars from my LFS. Also had to buy a few extra corners and the clips that lay on top of the glass
