Great video! I think I'll build one with my new build! I might use two metal L brackets to rest my red sea led on rather than using another price of wood.
Great video, love the comparison shots. I'm toying with adding more light to my system as well. (Lit by 3 kessils). I've actually had good luck putting a black box between 2, so I'm either going to go with 2 more black boxes, one more kessil or T5's. It's been many many years since I've had to change a bulb so I'm not sure I want to go back to that...
Average Reef Thanks! T5s are a hassle but they're well worth it - you can't beat T5s for growth.

am new in this hobby...i keep seeing T5 light...is it the same with our regular T5 florocent light tube?or aquascape light tube?
No idea what regular T5 is I'm afraid - the bulbs for marine are a specific spectrum though if that helps.
How many watts you recommend for 50 gal tank? Planning to use t5 because reef light is so expensive and i'm a begginer 😊
4x 2 foot T5 tubes will do nicely

Just used a bit of sturdy string
Can I ask what schedule you use on your LED and T5?
Leds ramped to 80% from 11am to 10:30pm. T5s were on from 2pm to 8pm.
