- Hello everyone! Today I'm going to be reacting to Strong Convictions from Petra. What'd you think of my reaction? What'd you think of my review? What should I react to next?

Best band of all time love them
Awesome!
Their first album came out in 1974,
and the award for coolest dad ever goes to....
yes I've been that busy I've only just managed to finish watching this video 😂
this was great!!! also I didn't expect to relate with your dad lol about having divorced parents and not having a real relationship with a father, definitely not what I expected to get out of this video but that was actually comforting 😂😂😂 I also like this video bc I have no idea what it's like to be close to my dad, so when I see other people do stuff like this with their dad it kinda gives me a peek into what that life might look like lol.
Great song!!! The lyrics were definitely deeper than what I was expecting. I think I've heard of Petra before but never bothered to check them out. This song definitely has a great message
I have all their CDs
Awesome . Thanks for sharing. I saw Petra tour this album in London. It was epic. I am waiting and hoping for this to be released on vinyl sometime soon. 😁🙏
Glad you enjoyed the video! I can imagine that Petra would be great live!
I love this! Petra was one of my favourite bands growing up, and much of their music still holds up today. Some amazing musicianship!
Yes! Since the filming of this video (over a year ago tbh), I've heard more Petra and they're really great. Considering the music you make, I would not have expected you to be a Petra fan tho lol.
My favorite band saw this album live back in the day
That's awesome!
You seem to be feeling better, praise God. Love this father son reaction to classic Petra I particularly had no Idea of this song by Petra even though this song has a good message.
🙏☝️🙄☁️👑
Being honest, I think lyrically speaking Petra has perhaps the best messages of any band in Christian rock/metal. Pointed commentary aimed at the church and culture alike, challenging thoughts, and great encouragement. I grew up a metalhead but Petra is still a mainstay. I'm around your Dad's age so I actually took my kids, who are younger than you to see Petra on their 50th anniversary tour this year. They love the band.
As for the band, they are a band of eras. Their sound notably shifted through the years, staying true to themselves in the rock vein yet somewhat matching musical trends. I actually like their earlier stuff with Greg Volz best but the albums with John Schlitt (this album included) are fantastic as well. John's era has the more hard driving tracks like Mine Field, Defector, Seen and Not Heard and Jekyll & Hyde (title track from their most hard rocking album).
Great reaction. Good music goes beyond generations and biblical truth is ageless. Petra does both.
Here a link for Rex Carroll playing live at the Cornerstone Festival. I was there for this concert. He starts with a guitar solo called "Fool's Gold" then goes into "Working Man's Blues".

I refer your Dad to the albums "This Means War" and "On Fire". They preceeded this album and are worthwhile listening!
Yes those albums are ba all the way
Always really enjoy these father/son videos! Such great conversation and analysis. Fun video where you dad recommended the song lol. I've owned several Petra albums but not this one however so I was unfamiliar with this particular song. Good lyrics and catchy tune. Great vid, thanks! Hope you get back on track with stuff and will be interesting to see how you've redone your room/setup.
i seen PETRA live wake up call tour
now Convictions needs to make a song called Strong Petra
Ha lol, I noticed that soon as I read the title lol
Lol I was thinking about that while typing the title
your dad is cool. Listen to him. I wish there were many who had his conviction.
Petra was founded in 1972 first album 1973
Best part of this album is Dale Thompson (Bride) on backing vocals.
I didn't know he did backing vocals, that's really cool!
I'm starting to like this band more. I hadn't heard very much outside of their album beyond belief, but I've been watching a few reactions to their songs. It's got me thinking maybe I should listen to some More of their stuff. Cause i'm really getting into it.
Awesome! They're a great band!
Here is a song to check out. It is called "Working Man's Blues". Rex Carroll is the artist. He is the vocalist as well the guitar player. I have enclosed a link for you. He was also in White Cross and King James.

3rd cassette tape that i owned.. 2 usd lol
All give you another album to do a reaction video to and two songs of that album the Petra album is not of this world and the two songs are occupy and blinded eyes
Awesome! Thanks for the recommendations!
Hey. Feeling better? Good.
Luckily, I am a Petra fan...
And it's not even the "good" Petra. This is the point where long time producers and writing partners Elefantes were exchanged for Brown Bannister (Well known for Amy Grant and one very excellent Whiteheart album, _Freedom_ ). Founding member Bob Hartman had since the beginning written most the songs (20 years going by the time this album released).
Where this album excels though is its presence in the dynamic range is a good album to test speakers with. I slew many a pretend subwoofers with this cassette.
Not sure if you do requests? Your dad talking about Newsboys reminded me of the song Lost The Plot. One of my favorite songs by them and little different sound for them and I love the lyrics! Just thought I'd share it!

Awesome! I'll see if we can react to this one!
a GREY shirt????? this is an imposter. this is the adopted son!! WHERE HAVE YOU KEPT THE REAL METAL777?!
This was actually me from last September lol, so in a way it is an imposter
@@Metal777 oh wow that is a long time ago
This is from my second most-favorite Petra album, Wake-Up Call. But I feel you picked the "worst" song to review from this release. You should look into the classic on this album like "Praying Man," "Underneath The Blood," and "Good News."
