Here is a quick peak of my plan! 10 Weeks to Thanksgiving: Kitchen 9 Weeks to Thanksgiving: Bathrooms/Bedrooms 8 Weeks to Thanksgiving: Bedroom (I’m tackling my child’s) & 3 small bathrooms 7 Weeks to Thanksgiving: Entryway, family room, and entry closet #2 6 Weeks to Thanksgiving: Master bedroom and master bathroom 5 Weeks to Thanksgiving: Playroom and toys (fun!) 4 Weeks to Thanksgiving: Gym and laundry room 3 Weeks to Thanksgiving: Spare rooms 2 Weeks to Thanksgiving: Kitchen-getting it turkey, pie, and all-the-fixin’s ready! 1 Week to Thanksgiving: Closets (if there’s time). And, prepping for company!
Wow! You do a lot before noon! Watching you workout is inspiring to me. I think it's great that you stopped cleaning close to when the timer went off. Great job! Take care, Linda 🦋
I like the idea of spreading out the holiday cleaning prep over 10 weeks -- sounds much more manageable that way! I don't think I'm quite that motivated, but you have inspired me to just do something, even if it's just a quick 15 minute clean-up or declutter. For the spices -- could you fit a label on the side of the lid? It looks like that would be a great place for the label to be visible, especially with the three tiers. Thanks for including your workout! A workout is helping to take care of and maintain the body, just like cleaning helps maintain the home. Good luck on your race!
Girl, I feel your pain! I make schedules like I'm still 20yo and can get things done quickly and then my 50yo self takes twice as long (or longer) to actually do the things. I have started keeping notes on how long it *actually* takes me to do things. It also helps me to tackle the things I dread because I think they will take forever because I know exactly how long I'll be at it. In my head I think cleaning out the fridge will take an hour or more, but I can usually get it done in 30 mins, which makes it seem more do-able. Maybe since you are filming and then editing, you could jot down how long its taking you to do stuff so that your schedule for future days could be more accurate. Also, would it be more time efficient if you reduced the intro time and did a voice over instead? I love the notes from editing Allie but I recognize that adds time and effort, and if doing a voice over you could say what the plan was and then what actually happened. Just a thought, given everything you are trying to accomplish I was just thinking this might be a way to save time (having never made a single video and having no clue how long filming, editing, and voice overs take). Oh, and decanting spices drives me batty because there is always a few that the original containers are more than fits in the pretty ones. I gave up and instead installed a rack on the inside of my pantry doors that accommodates cans and bottles. I have 2 doors and put a rack on each. 1 is just for spices and the other is for oils, vinegars, and things like corn starch, baking powder, baking soda, etc. Its not close to the stove, which stinks, but I can keep all my spices in their original containers and there is room to have them all in a line vs bunched up in a cabinet, so I can see them all at once. Best decision I ever made. Every kitchen is different, and it just takes time to figure out what works.
@@karenpage9383 tracking the time is super smart! I love that idea. And intro Allie really does have to get her stuff together right! She can just talk and talk and talk! 🤣 Editing Allie does get pretty exhausted trying to tone it down! I am hoping that I'll get more in the swing of things within a few videos! I have also thought voice over would be helpful! And it's funny you mentioned a rack for the cabinet! I tried finding one for this cabinet and it's a weird side, so I'm still on the lookout! It will come together.... eventually! Thank you so much for watching and sharing with me!!! I appreciate it so much! ❤️
@@PerfectlyInProgress I wish I could take credit for the tracking idea, but it was something I saw on another channel... maybe Erika Lucas? Not positive, but it has made a difference for me. Another thing that has helped on tasks I don't want to do is to tell myself I only *have* to do it for 10 mins. If its driving me crazy after 10 mins I can stop but usually I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and just get it done. And I totally don't mind the intro with you talking!!! I much prefer to hear the thought process than to actually see it getting done. LOL But its still a win for me if you did voice overs. I just know that it has to add time to the task if you have to stop and talk to the camera, and then time added to the editing to find music to fill the rest of the video, so maybe voice overs could save you a little time. Love your vids as is though too!
Oh, I'm so glad your racks worked out for your spices. I asked for some for Christmas and they're still in the box. To be fair, we haven't been home much since February. Yes, my 73-year-old self still underestimates cleaning times, too! lol
@@3TXSisters I hear ya! I have some projects like that too 😉 On a bold day when I spotted new faucets I liked, I thought I could find some videos to teach me how to install them. They still sit in their boxes, neglected... and I have yet to even look for a tutorial. I need another day that I'm feeling bold again 🤣
