Aw I can't believe I missed this. This has been so fun to listen to. Your sense of humor is refreshing, I really appreciate it. And wow, huge achievement for your eldest son!! I remember my first times at camp (I think). I don't remember much except being terrified and that it took me till literally the very last day of camp to get used to the place and start liking some of the things. Huge virtual high-five to your boy for getting through camp all on his own, and equally major kudos to you and your wife for making sure you are there for your kids always.
It is so great to hear about your son’s increased confidence, such clear evidence of the results of great support. Back when I was in Primary School my first school camp wasn’t until grade 4, the next school camp was in grade 6.
Watching Orion scratch his head is better then what's on tv nowerdays ! Sutch a bullshitt of repeats of shows, singing and cooking contests , films and series , Harry Snotter i can't stand anymore ! . Last year they repeated Harry Snotter seven times , my 🤯
Back in the day I remember going on a school camp in 5th grade and think that was the only one I did in primary school. The high school I went to sent all the years off at the same time with each school year going somewhere different. Year 10 was going to Canberra and you had to still wear your school uniform every day when they were taking you out to do the touristy things.
Motors and cars with broken fire pipe's , or people who are constantly flying like a busser flies near me and constantly say everything they see or hear or do at that same moment ! Realy very anoying ! Gets me freakt out ! Just the f*ck up i would scream but i'm at my work .
Watching the video after the fact. When you were talking about sending an autistic kid away from their parents and everything that's safe and familiar, I was immediately taken back to being a little girl and the time I stayed away from my family for a little while. I was like seven, I think. Of course, back then, we didn't know I was autistic. I just learned that in the last few years. At 51, I'm still reduced to the scared little girl when I think of that time.
The last place I lived in (also the place I grew up) was near an air base. Your reaction to the annoying whippersnapper guy was me everytime a plane went over while I was filming a video. Im glad I'm not the only one who finds those annoying outside noises disregulating and frustrating. I did not cope. It sent me into a meltdown everytime.
I’m fairly certain that I’m Autistic. I’ve always had gut issues. Ever since I was a young child. I’m almost 30, been diagnosed with ADHD. I’m self diagnosed Autistic. I’m going for another neuropsychological evaluation. And I’m going for an Autism evaluation as well.
Bugger. Gotta miss that one. I'd rather watch, but... Lawnmowers are my main sensory processing disorder seizure trigger (without which i'd likely still not know I'm autistic ~ so am oddly grateful for). Does it stop completely at some point during the recording?
It does, it only lasts a few minutes. He yells out the window twice (rather hilariously), and after the second time, it stops. I actually couldn't hear it through the video until he opened the window in his office, but other people could.
I can not do landscaping sounds, I half wanted to get up and get my ear defenders, just from watching the video. I really wanted to hear your story though. I'll just havve a meltdown after. 😂😂😂
Don’t worry Orion. I scratch my head all the time because it is unwashed and I am high support needs and often have no energy to wash myself. Gas powered lawn equipment is a form of genocide, torture, and violation of human rights for those of us with sensory sensitivities. I am suing my city for this.
@@patriciazeigler6840 Especially if hair is long :))) Step one - take off ANC headphones. Step two - immediately develop severe sensory overload from loud noise, put ANC headphones back on and forget about head washing :)))
