If you wanted to piece together a retired Lego set, you can because Lego makes the instructions available to anyone. If you can't afford Lego pieces, why couldn't you piece it together from an alternate brick company? If some company went through the trouble to source their bricks, print out the instructions, and sell it to you at a good price, is that really ripping off Lego? Let me be clear, I would never buy a Lego duplicate set that is currently on the market but anything retired seems up for grabs to me. Curious what other people think?
