Just installed purchased kit for our 2002/2003 cross over, Ford E150 on 9/30/2024. The kit was missing 3 flat washers noted at set up. Took us about 3 hours which included setup and clean up- two hour job? Brand new drill bit broke! The shock has a rubber boot which rubs a bit on other steering parts - We used a longer zip tie than provided and found two holes to pull back a p/s line out of rub area. All in all, a good vid and install. Results: Smoother with in town driving conditions and definitely better on freeway with less constant corrections. Tires installed May be part of problem but I installed a damper on my 86 E150, and had similar positive results. Thanks for the great Vid and product kit.
I ordered the Fox, order processed and arrived in less than a week. Packaged well and all parts there. Installed today, the difference in steering is noticeable right away. Feels less loose. A bit of a hassle with u-clamps fitting over tie rod and into bracket but rest of job went well. All done on creeper in driveway. Thanks Jeremy
The proper way to locate the holes in the frame member is : 1) clamp the plate to the frame 2) use the proper transfer punch to mark the hole locations 3) drill a pilot hole 4)drill the proper size clearance hole for the bolt. 3/8 drill is not the proper size for 3/8 bolt!
I have an 06 e250 I just put new inner and outer tie rods on and the ball joints are just fine but I get up to about 72 73 I get the shake in my steering this is a new van to me is that common for these Econoline vans that have a little rough staring. Thank you.
Hi Jeremy, I had the same gas steering stabilizer installed in my 2021 E450 motorhome with 10k miles. Now, I get a constant pull to the driver side, even after a front wheel alignment. Any thoughts what could be causing the pull to the left?
My '94 Chinook E-350 with the 460 has a factory steering stabilizer. Do I still need the extra brackets or will the factory mounts fit? Thanks. I've been watching your vids for awhile and have started subscribing.
Cool I think I could install this….however I want whole grocery kit so I think I’ll leave it all to the pros……I’ll be making my appointment later this fall.
My E450 has a stock Ford steering stabilizer and has a bracket that isn't in your video and it also looks smaller than the Fox. Do you see any issue with simply reusing the stock bracket and location of the factory stabilizer?
I see you also sell a King stabilizer for the same application, any preference? How much more of a hassle is it to drill those 3 hole with stock suspension in place? I have a 2022 Jayco Class C.
Hey Frank, Due to FOX being on a global backorder, we decided to collab with Bilstein as another option with how popular our steering stabilizer kit is. We also offer this with our King shock. There are price differences as well. All of the shocks have had really good feedback from customers, but some customers prefer to keep with FOX or want a more affordable option such as Bilstein.
@@MrIgottap My ball joints, though still decent, are going to have to eventually be replaced. Would installing this shock be a hindrance in knowing when I should replace the ball joints, or a good option for better steering in the meantime?
Hey Anthony, absolutely, we do have the diesel option for this kit. We have the FOX shock version (this is on backorder): weldtecdesigns.com/product/wtd-ford-e-series-fox-steering-stabilizer-kit-diesel/ and the Bilstein shock version (currently available): weldtecdesigns.com/product/wtd-ford-e-series-bilstein-steering-stabilizer-kit-diesel/

I have a 1992 Ford E350 and my frame mounting bracket that I received from you does not look like the same part as in your video. It does NOT contour like yours. I know this part goes on the passenger side. Can you help? Please advise. Cynthia Songco 925.324.2692 This is the part I need to install so I can get my rig on the road. Thanks in advance.
Just grab one from an e450 school bus or ambulance.. The holes are already drilled in your vehicles frame, you will need to tap the proper thread into place. (Location of pre drilled holes is passenger side, just where the stabilizer is close to the frame.
Cuts down on some of the slop back and forth in your steering. It can also mask other problems you might have so check you’re ball joints and tie rods first to see if they need to be replaced.

Jeremy, how about a steering stabilizer for the Chevy Express van?

The SS is not causing the drift, typically you need more caster on that side, Try that and let us know.
Nice Stuff, is there a protective boot for. The shock shaft ?
We can add one if you would like.
And the Bilstein shock I received had a boot cover.

No, sorry this will not work on the Quigley 4x4.

Think of this as a shock for your steering reducing the feedback you will get through your steering wheel when driving down the road.

It's not that hard with the stock suspension on it, We do have a new kit coming for all the RV'ers out there that don't want a 4/6 lift kit.
Will it work with a lifted Quigley van?
so in the video you show us that your using a FOX stabilizer but on your site your selling us Bilstein whats the difference in the 2 different brands

Not a “fix”, but a mask. Will also hide failing ball joints as well.

NO, Typically we do a weld on mount for the diesels because they have a larger oil pan that comes really close to the FOX shock.

It is a shock for your steering reducing the feedback that comes through the steering wheel.
