It is not a matriarchal society it is just a matrilineal society where only grooms go to brides home and women are the providers but not protectors. Men are still protectors here people always mix them up patrilineal is not patriarchy and matrilineal is not also matriarchy

Can you please make a video on the "sundhi community" They are huge (a very large community)in present day they are found in BIHAR, BENGAL, particularly ODISHA and northern parts of ANDHRA PRADESH!
What is more interesting about them is that..... They even disowned all connections with those who still followed ther characteristic occupation of the caste, which means they very strictly stopped following the occupation the in caste system, which even today is visible in their society! would love to know their origin story and all!!! Another very interesting thing i found out is that , the very common surnames among this community is "Sahu/sahoo" and surprisingly enough, they are found all over the subcontinent - in Pakistan they are found mainly in Punjab region North and east of Pakistan, in Indian they are mainly found in east india along with west and north india aswell very small amount in northeast , in Bangladesh they are found in the north-west region also they are a large community in Nepal and Afghanistan too.

I dont know why many people think Khasis originated from Cambodia, just because Khasi Language is linguisticaly related to Khmer. This is like saying Punjabis came from Norway because their language is of the Indo-European family.
The origins of the Khasis is still obscure and even DNA testing has not helped much in determining where they actualy come from. The reason is because they were a neolithic Hunting - Gathering -Subsistence farming sub group who broke off from the main Austro-Asiatic family about 60,000 to 45,000 years ago.
The Khasis are not related to Mons or Khmers in anyway except that their languages belongs to the same family. In that case, Munda, Ho, Oraon in Chota Nagpur plateau should also be considered as originating from Cambodia as their languages is also a branch of Austro-Asiatic group.
Wherever or whatever the origins of the Khasis are, its still a subject of study and it is still obscure.
The Khasis broke of earlier from the Austro asiatic people and the Mon and Khmer groups comes at a much later date, though they descended from the same Austro-Asiatic people as the Khasis.

Origin of khasi jaintia were from mon Khmer tribes of Kamboj/Cambodia or present Kampuchea of South East Asia. They were the first migrants of N. E. 🇮🇳India.
There were Tibeto-Burman people already in the East.
The Austroasiatics mixed with them.

Khasi: First indigenous People of Northeast india including Sylhet of Bangladesh.
Khasi peoples have settled in present day KHASI JAINTIA hills, SYLHET of BANGLADESH, NORTH CACHAR HILLS OF ASSAM eg: UMRONGSO, ETC, WEST KARBI ANGLONG DISTRICT, KAMRUP of GUWAHATI, ETC.
The khasi people an austroasiatic people have been pushed back by the tibeto burman tribes of Assam, indo aryans of bengal from their territories and have now remain island in present day KHASI JAINTIA HILLS of Meghalaya.
