When you see how many VFX shots you have in post: "I'm gonna need some tech support."
the VFX looks feature film quality. I didn't even realize the last shot was CG
This has better CG then some Hollywood blockbusters, well done!!
Jason Sacks true
true and sad
Extremely better than those CW shows ,
I mean, he used to work at Pixar and quit to create this project so...
@@shaunfernando5349 It's not sad. He was an artist at Pixar. He quit his job there to create this "his passion project". So it makes sense.
There is so much I wasn't even aware Blender is capable of doing. Well done once more!
Too amazing, while watching the short-film never imagined so many are CGI.
It's on par with high level movie production.
0:18 My face when I am sneaking a 2am snack.
These breakdowns are so fascinating! Would love to see more!
This short film is amazing! From the VFX, to the world building, to the acting, it was all amazing! Very well done and I look forward to more of your future shirt films :>
And don't forget Jude Law!
Man I just love films about shirts
Weirdly enough, I realized that it was done in Blender because of the abundance of empties, and the fun little circle with the four arrows.
With weird observations out of the way, this is *awesome*. Knowing that the shot where he enters back into the building is CG does make it slightly visible (I think, maybe I'm just imagining at that point), but I definitely didn't notice when first watching the short film.
This is some outstanding work, and I do want to see a feature length movie - no pressure :)
Me: Cool rooftop set location!
Colin & VFX Crew: Nope, that's a completely green room with just the actor.
Me: Well shit, now you're just showing off!
At 2:25 even the actor is CGI.
Nothing new.
Houston Helicopter Tours no fuckin shit dumbass this is an independent project
I wonder if this would have a better chance being picked up by Netflix as a series or a full fledged film! Great work.
been wanting to see this for a year
Am I the only one who watches these VFX breakdowns and BTS frame by frame? Really great video, love the short film!
1:08 wait, what?! Foam is simulated?!/1/1
C4D 1min simulation
@@CharlesLijt This is all Blender though.
Jasc Random yeahhh blender team 😂
Maybe it's not simulated, there is no need to do so. You can do this by hand also. But if it is, that's a really great job :]
Outstanding job Colin!
I hope Netflix picks this up so they can fund this project! Its honestly amazing
I love these types of films. VFX has really allowed for some insane storytelling from people that would never have had the chance before. The quality of the VFX is really solid. Believable, grounded motion of the camera and drone thing. Excellent lighting. Love.
Me: Oh man that's a cool drone shot with the CG model.... WAIT WHAT THE WHOLE SHOT IS CG INCLUDING THE ACTOR??!!
Absolutamente profesional. Que gran trabajo y que gran corto. Merece una película. Gracias
very amazing vfx it's very detailed and I love how you got Jude law.
Amazing. It is really hard to guess which elements are real and which are CG when you watch the movie before this breakdown. Like of course the drones are not real. 2:10 But oh my god the fog, the entire background, the stairs, ... and at 2:26 even the actor himself.
Next level boss🙏 love the details Thankyou for sharing techniques and breakdown
So much detail its downright impressive, congrats to you and the team for intergrating the vfx so seamlessly 👍
This really does inspire me to start using blender again !!
so impressive.
Colin, I just saw your short, which, well there is nothing short about this. Extremely well done. The set up to make a feature is awesome. After about 20 years in the US, I am now in France where there are some amazing incentives to shoot films (short or long). I would be thrilled to collaborate with you. Bravo!
Everything was so detailed! Great job 👍🏽
This has to be the show of the year!
Wow the roof was full CGI. I honestly couldn't tell when I saw the movie. Congrats!
Very impressed by the film, you can feel the passion behind it from all involved. Looking forward to see more from you in the future.
Great job and thanks for showing this VFX Breakdown.
I completely forgot this was a Blender project. That brings so much inspiration!
Wow, incredible workflow!
Thanks for sharing it with us, I`m a 3d animation student and learning Blender for a couple of months and this one is really inspiring and motivating me a lot.
We all support you for your next project.
Thanks for showing us all of this💯😎👍 incredible work
Professional-grade production. Hats-off to Colin.
Great stuff Colin - I like what you are doing here
Real Question: How can I do what you do?
I’m sure I don’t need to start with the greatest equipment. I’m advanced with a couple of adobe programs. But why that cgi/ the modeling is nice.
I’d like to get an answer on where I could start
Tutorials are a good place to start! Blender is a free 3D program and there's a ton of free training on RUclips and beyond. Start small and be patient, keep learning and pushing your skills. www.blender.org/
Amazing work👏
Awesome!!
Love everything about this movie, congratulations!
This is how you make a film! Amazing!!
Blender is such an incredible tool!! I have no idea how you guys made this look so good though!!
Great job
I saw this just for the first time and didn’t even know this channel. But I definitely subscribed after watching and learning from this. ☺️
We need a part two!!! I love these 😍
Quality production and post-production.
awesomeness
The amount of talent
I've honestly always wanted to know how they do the VFX breakdown videos, like swiping over the pre-comp renders, plates, and what is actually seen in the film. Awesome stuff!
Really awesome work! We need more of such short stories and breakdown!
Keep it up bro! Best wishes!
Just Amazing!!
incredible
Aw! That's fascinating!
This is really great work and a cool story as well
Amazing work!
So much to learn from this break down!🖤🖤
I'd love to watch a behind the scenes of how you did the VFX! Salutations from freezing cold and wet Ireland ☘️💪🏽👀👍🏽☘️
This is ingenious!
The film is AMAZING!
thats what I called David Fincherism
Amazing,
Well made
Hey Levy, loving the video (and the story of getting Jude Law in your short film!), I'm in the middle of writing my next short and planning on putting a small dose of sci-fi in there. How did you plan/shoot/get the shot of the computerscreens in there? Are they all cgi? Thanks for any feedback!
You deserve more than 16k subs
Corridor crew need to get on this!
Amazing!
As a cg artist, this is fucking amazing and honestly mind breaking
THE FRICKING PORT THING WAS SIMULATED? WHAT?
You guys a truly Blender masters! 👏👏👏
just a suggestion at 0:22 , you could use 3d printer to print that "reference prop marker" . you can print in "vase mode". it print only the shell. it will be little bit flimsy, but accurate enough. vase mode use the least amount of plastic(cheap) & fastest. you can export it using blender to stl format. but,the 3d design must be solid not porous . for lower budget just use "3d pen"
Well done playa this was a nice insight!
but how did you get the really smooth orbiting shots in the rooms in the first few examples?
@Rakeesh Kolokolo but its moving over furniture and theres no room for it,you cant see any track etc. Unless the rest of the room is cgi as well and theyre all just empty rooms, but id have thought he would show a composite of that cgi if that were the case.
Well done!! I love it!
Thanks for the break down 👍
wow. simply... wow
Craaazy omg!
There’s nothing I want more than for Hulu or something to pick this up and make it into a mini series.
Wait! Does this mean the emp-disc was a practical prop ? If so are there any behind the scenes of that thing’s tests?
That was awesome, good job with the VFX.
very cool
Which camera did you use for the spinning shots?
Awesome work! Can we see more walkthroughs of the nuke scripts plz? :)
Wow 😲!
how much time do you spend on sth like that?
Sensei...!!!
amazing
That's quite a lot of roto in the beginning right, with all those delivery 'boxes', also that key with the boys looking towards the building looks like a nightmare, why didn't they put a light on the green screen?
Fantastic insight into what's possible today ❗
The jolly through window scene: wouldn't it be faster and cheaper to film on location and just add some extra objects?
Jakub Waligórski there was never a building, it was CG. How can you put trackers without a physical building?
THAT IS SO FUCKING INSANE
wow!
just amazing, for me it would take days to make the model itself
Hi there I'm studying blender for the last 3 months and my goal is to do vfx , is there any courses or tutorials to help me achieve this ?
sooooooooo goooooood
Hi colin I'm from India I like your vfx editing level
Amazing! More
Good stuff
@Corridor Crew must react to this!
fucking impressive!
Friken wild
wow just wow
와...그냥 CG로 다 해버리는군요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Blender? Nice.
