I can't get enough of the clouds on these TimeWarps!!
This video was exactly what I have been looking for, absolutely perfect, THANK YOU!!!
This video is so helpful. Greatly appreciate taking the time to include the settings for each scene. Real. Useful. Real useful. Thanks.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL footage! I just got my Hero 8 for shooting B-roll for my RUclips videos, and your work here is not only inspiring but also helpful because you clarified the settings you used. This is going to really help my content become that much better, so thank you very much!
The night lapse with the stars is so good
Thank you. That was very helpful. Much better than some guy over 16 minutes saying "This is what I am going to do"
that last sky of stars 😍
Last one is AMAZING
Excellent time lapse videos ! My favourite was the beach sunset with stars at the end amazing !
Thanks 🙏🏼 And that is my favorite one too - Didn’t know it was gonna turn out that good when I set it up either.
Beautiful video by Gopro 8
I recognize a lot of that scenery. Nice vid!
Wow that airplane shot was sick!
Wow !
beautiful camera work !!
I would love to visit all those places -thank you!
Wow it's hard to believe the image quality from such a small sensor! BTW it was nice to meet a fellow RUclipsr last night. Good luck with your channel. Hopefully we'll both continue to grow on the platform!
Very nice videos bro.. I can imagine the effort you have put to capture these all❤️❤️❤️from 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great video. Really useful demonstration of Time Lapse and Time Warp settings. Thank you. 🤘
Excellent shots and examples! Happy I purchased it now.
Thanks for the video. I just upgraded my Hero 6 to a Hero 8. Can't wait to incorporate timelapse, timewarp and Night Lapse into my hiking videos.
stunning capture.
Beautiful
Will gonna try all of this on my GP8!💚
Tell me you’re from Oregon without telling me you’re from Oregon. Nice video!
Love the central Oregon aspect you used here for Smith Rock and off the Cascade Highway! I live here and always enjoy seeing good. scenic work done. Thanks for sharing tips and settings as it h=gives me ideas as a new GoPro user
Glad I could help you get started - though I feel like most of the credit goes to Oregon for being such a beautiful state.
As an Oregonian, I recognized a lot of these locations. Beautiful shots!
Would really love to know the location at 0:50 and 1:55. Reminded me a lot of Zion!
@@Evmeister88 :50 is Smith Rock, near Redmond, OR.
And so is 1:55 :-)
Sweet! Thank you David!
Thanks for putting in the settings, headed to Zion and Bryce hoping to put this info to good use. 👍
Awesome video. Great work.
para el modo night lapse video uso aplicacion de foto y después los unió en un programa?
Detailed settings for the last video please? The star one...iso min iso max? White balance? Colour... sharpness etc?
Nicely done!
Outstanding!
Nice shots of Oregon! 👍🏻
That was super rad!
Great videos. You filmed all our favorite spots !!! Smith rock, the Gorge, Mt Adams....
3:31 there is no night laps Video in my gopro 8.. only timelaps photo available! Can you explain plz?
To get Night Lapse video follow these steps:
Timelapse Mode > Night Lapse > The little “pencil edit icon” > Select Format > Make sure it’s set to video
That should get Night lapse video working for you. Sorry if it’s not that clear - hard to explain in words. I imagine someone probably has a tutorial video on this too.
@@DigitalTechReviewsTips thanks for reply, format is set as Photo & it can't be changed (not editable) anyways thanks again
Hmm that’s odd. Maybe could be your micro SD card isn’t fast enough to handle all the data?
@@DigitalTechReviewsTips I'm not sure. I'll give it a try once got new SD card. thanks for info.
Wonderful time-lapse video!
Fantastics!
Good work Team 👍 with GoPro 8
Beautiful - and great info !
how to rotate your camera while taking timelapses?
very nice view..
Good stuff!
Ein Traum
How are your rotating your camera while taking timelapses? Just turn the tripod w/ the GoPro manually at certain intervals? Looks very smooth. Thanks
Can't wait to use it, it's seems very hight quality
Great video dude!! One question, how can you move the shooting angle so steadily at 2:56? Is it a GoPro feature? Or by moving tripod?
Loving the video!!!
Never tried a gopro until the 8 ...its a very advanced little cam......many hidden features...
Hello there. i have gopro 9. I love night time shots. especially star shots. This device gives me peace and an incredible image, but when I make the video format "photo", on which program can I convert them to video, please? This is very important for me.
To make a timelapse out of the photos you can use iMovie or Final Cut Pro X for Mac or a video editing program like Adobe Premeire. I think even Photoshop can be used to make Timelapse’s though it doesn’t play them back well.
However, why do you need to have the timelapse output as photos? I love being able to have my GoPro output the timelapse as video cause it’s so much easier and still great quality.
Outstanding video compilation!! Just picked up the Hero 8 Black. You stated in your settings/editing that none of the footage is retouched or recolored. What color profile did you have the 8 set at? You did all the post editing on a PC?
Standard color profile. Default settings (except for some of the stars ones which I manually cranked the ISO/shutter to the max cause it was so dark).
Edited on a Mac (not sure if you meant Mac vs PC or PC vs Mobile?) using FCPX but all the “editing” really entailed was arranging & slightly trimming the clips to align to the music.
Nice Shoot, location and subject good, not so bad for a gopro ;). I've done some timelapse test with hero7black, it's not perfect but it's a small device, and settings are not fully possible (aperture for example).
Very good, thanks for sharing! Apart from 1 min interval and 30 sec shutter, what was your ISO min and max for night lapse video of the stars? Also, what was your white balance setting for the stars footage?
awesome!
Thanks!
Thanks for the video..I will try out these settings
Most excellent - thank you!
Essa última filmagem da noite com as estrelas foi com a gopro mesmo???
Beautiful and informative... thanks !
Amazing video
With clear explanation
God bless you
My son!
Thanks :)
very nice
Amazing Video !!
Please can someone tell me how to shoot this quality of timelapse on smartphone, please
Hello, I couldn't open my GoPro Hero8 TimeWarp videos on my Computer and edit programs, Why have i this problem, could you help me ?
It might be because it’s using the HEVC codec to record the files. Older computers have a hard time with that compared to H.264.
does anyone know what crane did it use in recording nightlapses?
Wow! beautiful....
Thanks for sharing! Is there any mobile app that will convert a hero 8 night lapse sequence? Every one talks about the Quik mobile app by GoPro but i don't think it can edit a night lapse sequence
If you use Night Lapse video you don’t have to convert it. If you recorded the Night Lapse using the photo mode (which takes and stores a photo for each frame), you’ll have to resort to using a computer - with either photoshop/premiere pro or a dedicated time-lapse maker app - for stitching them all together.
Looks very nice. Do you know long will the gopro last on time lapse mode on for example a pic every 5 minutes.
The effect where the camera is panning while time lapsing is that a post filming affect or the actual camera moving?
The actual camera moving
Hey nice video, have a question regarding the night lapse, if want to take a sunset for example from 4 pm to 8pm do you recomend me to use nightlapse since the beginning or should I use normal timewarp then switch it to nigntlapse? Settings in auto of course
That’s really a tough one and it’s hard to give a definitive answer, but the general thing to know is that regular timelapse more will hit a wall at about 30min after sunset (it’s slowest shutter speed) where your image will just get darker. Nightlapse on the other hand can go all the way up to 30sec shutter speeds if needed and even crank up the ISO to 3200 as well.
Because of this, I’d usually go with Nightlapse if I ever plan on recording past sunset.
@@DigitalTechReviewsTips thank you for your answer
Extra cool thankyou.
Hi, should i set my gopro iso at 100/800 for night/star gazing as your last part of your video?
I actually usually experiment with manual exposure night photos to fine tune ISO and white balance and then set it to the same settings in night lapse. But those settings are a good starting point.
@@DigitalTechReviewsTips TQ Digital Tech for the information.
Great movie, thank you
The one thing that would make it better is including your locations.
Wait, one more question pls! How you change the 4:3 night lapse ratio to a 16:9?? Very curious to know it
Simple. Under the shooting settings go to Resolution which will give you the option of 1080p, 1440p, 2.7k or 4K. 1440p and 2.7K use the 4:3 aspect ratio so just select one of the other two (1080p or 4K).
Insane footage! How long were these time lapses for??
Very nice time lapse video. Greeting from Germany new friend👍❣️
Gorgeous
Been to every one of those places
Really Nice :)
But how did you stop the time warp and came back on a normal speed?
If you tap the touchscreen on the HERO8 while doing a hyperlapse, the little hyperlapse icon will change to world icon (for real world time or something) and the video recording will slowly change from Timewarp to regular recording (no audio tho). Another tap on the screen will bring it back to the Timewarp.
How did you export your 4k GoPro files to RUclips to look very crispy? I have a GoPro8...the quality look crisp on the gopro app. However, when I try to upload it to RUclips, the quality is very grainy and blurry?? Help!
Are you uploading from your phone? A lot of people transfer the footage straight from the GoPro to their smartphone (which losses a lot of video quality) and then upload it.
My footage went: From the camera > A computer (technically an external hard drive) via the micro SD card > Edited in a Final Cut Pro X 4K timeline > Exported at 4K using standard compression settings > Uploaded to RUclips
Hope this helps!
I love that videos :)
great content
if i want to record the sky, i choose timelapse mode right?
Well done.
Nice timelapse video. Like😊
Great video..... but I would like to know long to film each of these segments?
Really depends on the shot but the math is pretty straightforward:
(Length of clip x 30fps) x (shooting rate/60 secs) = Time it took to film
So...
For the second clip (which is 9 seconds long, with a photo taken every 5 seconds) the math would look something like this:
(9 x 30) x (5/60) =
(270) x (1/12) = 22.5 min of actual filming
My brother love his gift
Good video! Thank you really helpful 👍
Do you often use the auto button? You never see how fast it is right? I think for car time warp 5x is perfect and walking i always chose 15x. What do u think is better. Auto or manual?
I was playing around trying the “Auto” speed for Timewarp since GoPro just added it with the 8. After using it a couple times though I think I’ll probably stick with manually choosing the speed myself.
Hey, I have a question. How you do the vertical movement if the accessory only goes horizontal? Really great vid mate
Glad someone finally noticed this! It's actually pretty simple but kinda hard to describe in words (I'll do my best).
Basically, all you do is mount the device on a ballhead tripod and tilt it out at 90°. Then, attach the GoPro to the device using a GoPro right angle mount (like this: amzn.to/35okJEg) so that the GoPro won't be sideways and voila!
Hope that explains it clearly. I'm thinking of doing a video all about different tricks to get better timelapses and hyperlapses with GoPro's so I'll include this if I do.
@@DigitalTechReviewsTips Ha! nice way to do it, I had no clue before º-º
Magnifique
Why is that timewarp 4k from bicycle looks so washed out? Cuz original video before uploading on RUclips looks clean. Anyone knows how to avoid it?
I just bought the hero 8 and i see that timelaps is automatically set to video but it is also possible to use raw photo. Which is better, and what are the different uses?
You’ll undoubtedly get better quality using the photo mode, however this requires you stitch all the photos together in post using Photoshop, Premiere Pro or some other similar application. This is the only way you could do it until the GoPro 5, and since then I’ve never used the photo mode except for when doing night lapses.
The short answer is: unless you plan on doing a lot of editing in post or are shooting for a film/TV show (something that will be viewed on a bigger screen) Timelapse Video will satisfy your needs and be way easier.
@@DigitalTechReviewsTips Thank you so much! Great video btw
Epic at 1:00
Red Dead Pixel at 3:28 to the end ??
Yup, good eye. I had to return my GP8 to get a new one. Oddly only showed up when ISO and shutter were at the max.
timewarp seemed to be smoother in some videos, but timelapse seemed better in other places?
Yup that’s pretty much it. TimeWarp utilizes Hypersmooth to stabilize the footage but sacrifices a little quality. TimeLapse lacks the stabilization but in general has better image quality.
@@DigitalTechReviewsTips wow thanks!!!
WOW !! thanks
Wow, nice video my friend. Greetings from Germany 👍😎👍fly save Buddy
Do you think the nightlapse video on the hero 8 is better than the osmo action?
I haven’t actually done a nightlapse with the Osmo Action, but I’ve been disappointed with it’s quality in most other areas. The advantage it might have over the GoPro 8 is the ability to save the nightlapse as both JPEGs and Video.
@@DigitalTechReviewsTips any chance of you doing a nightlapse comparison between the hero 8 and the osmo action and posting it on your channel?
Nice 👍
0:25 if auto speed handled by gyro them it not matter on airplane lol its same as smallest speed
cool
