I encountered a very angry motorist while filming a train going through a PUBLIC railroad crossing today! He chose to think that I was taking pictures of him rather than the train directly in front of me! He tried giving chase afterwards, but fortunately I was able to make the getaway when he wasn't able to U-turn for 1/4 mi down the road and had to wait for oncoming traffic! I think he also called the cops on me b/c he was pulling his phone out while passing me, but I don't care. I was on a public sidewalk!
I used to live by BNSF's Fallbridge subdivision in Washougal, WA. One night, I was taking photos of a BN train at the 6th street crossing in Washougal. After the train passed, I got confronted by two women who had a young girl with them. One of the women asked me if I was taking pictures of the train. I said yes, and the women walked away. But they came back and started doing things like pretending to take photos of me and my little pickup that I was sitting in. They pretended to write my license plate number down, and just generally acted like I'd done something wrong. Kept watching me. I didn't understand why they were doing that, but I eventually got it off my mind. It was later when I got the photos back, and I saw that they were in the pictures with the train in the background. A few weeks later, I found out that the house I'd been parked next to had been used for a meth lab. These women must have thought I was with the police, or a neighborhood watch and was taking photos to turn them into the police. Stupid. I'd never seen these women before in my life, did not know anything about them or that house. But, honestly, they would not have had to worry about my being there taking train photos if they had not been doing things that are illegal.
I can't go trackside where I live in Brownwood and having to deal with noisy people asking what I'm doing by the tracks and having to ignore everyone nowadays cause of the people where I'm at.

I'm a recently retired loco engineer (driver) here in Australia and I use to wave and toot railfans every time I drove past them and the majority of my colleagues still do
Texas Special, you're right, I have to admit though, it was amusing to see your inner railfan lawyer come out reference property lines and privacy laws
Goodness me, I hate when people are like that. I’ve never experienced it myself, but I know what situations like these are ridiculous as seen here. Railfans are just minding they own business enjoying documenting trains, and people come to disturb them for whatever dumbass reason like this. As you stated, as long as the railfan KNOWS they’re in the right, they’re ok.
i wasnt railfanning, but was parked on a public street waiting for my granddaughter to get off work and security came out , and told me i couldnt park there because it was private property , i corrected him and stayed where i was
Sad when people have nothing better to do with their time, but infringe it on others who are minding their own business. I feel sad for the daughter, who has to be raised by her, it's not going to go well.
I had my boy with me on this chase and the location before this, we’d spent about 45 minutes in the sun waiting for the train to pass. Where we were parked in the video, we were under the shade of a tree. That’s why I parked on that side of the road
I treat others how they treat me. I was laughed at whilst filming trains at King's Langley, and they got the response "you're not perfect are you!?'. They soon stopped laughing. Train enthusiasts do no harm to anyone.
Jeeeez!!! What is going on with all these confrontations!?? And this is also in Texas? WOW!!!! Just…wow. I can clearly see how angry that lady was at the end of this video.
Literally had this experience once but at TVRM While try to get a shot of 4501 but then they start complaining about the shirt I’m wearing that’s apparently too offensive to people
What is it with these people that can't mind their own business? I'd have done exactly the same with that Karen and told her to F off and mind her own business. The police should charge her with disturbing the peace and for harassing that man.
lmao the same shit happened to me in Romania, except that i was at a railway station and someone who pretended to be a ”security guard” (even tho he didnt legitimize himself in front of me) told me im not allowed to film the station cause its ”state owned property”. and to add to the ridiculousness, the stationmaster sided with this dubious person and even wanted to talk to my dad on the phone. so really, i feel the pain. it would be the cherry on the cake if someone unironically told me ”why cant you enjoy this hobby from home?”.
I've seen videos where the public has been attacked and threatened by railroad employees from the opposite side of the road from where the tracks are, just for videotaping trains. And they call the railroad bull out, or the county sheriff, and get people ran off the public road, which we pay taxes on, because of it. Why can't railroad people understand there are actual railroad enthusiasts out here?
@@jamestonybrown1712 They know who you are, they’re afraid of losing their jobs because a manager watched your video of them and saw them break some obscure rule in a rule book about 6” thick. They can and will take those train crew’s jobs from them for the most minor offense.
Apparently, not all Railroads are alike. I am a Retired BNSF employee, and this is BNSF's policy: "BNSF appreciates its railfan photographers and thanks them for their interest in BNSF and its trains. For safety reasons, BNSF can't grant access to its property for photography purposes. Photography of BNSF operations must be done from a safe location outside of railroad property. Encounters between BNSF police and photographers are generally casual in nature and not documented unless there is a criminal violation or circumstance that would warrant further law enforcement action or enforcement. BNSF Police reinforce guidance on this issue to officers in the field so that continues to be common practice. We value the support the rail community provides to our officers and rely on their continuing understanding that the intent of any contact by police is part an effort to further the safety of our railway and the communities where we operate." If you have a bad interaction with a BNSF Employee and you are not on property, turn them into the nearest Trainmaster.

I had a situation one time and I was standing on the city side walk and he claimed I steped on his property
I can't go trackside where I live in Brownwood and having to deal with noisy people asking what I'm doing by the tracks and having to ignore everyone nowadays cause of the people where I'm at.
Holy Karen!!!
Freedom of speech freedom of the press
I had a some old dude in ste Genevieve claimed to be a “former police officer” and he told me and my brother to get the f**k off of his property, we were standing across the road from his house and the car was parked somewhere completely elsewhere, my little brother started crying because the old man told us it was illegal to stand less than 20 feet from the tracks, he must have had some whisky good lord I will live to see this jacka$$ again and give him a taste of his own medicine
Correction it's actually 15ft
Wrong its 30 ft
@@rc391995 ok well then he was wrong 😂
@@ditchpatcher doesn’t it depend on the RR?
I am actually going to have to print a paper description why I am filming, just incase if someone ask me why I am filming. I am sensitive about my voice/face being exposed on the internet.
What town is this near I’ve been trying to catch some trains on the Cuero sub for awhile, you should check out West Point,Tx if you haven’t already, it’s a great active place with three different Subdivisions!
He’s been to West Point before. It’s a good spot.
Now this is a wild karen found rare in sticks 🤣🤣
must have a boring life......
@@rearspeaker6364 wtf that mean your an !d!0t
At least the friendly engineer made it worth it
I don’t know what the big deal is videotaping trains I’ve done it for as long as I can remember. I can see if a person was in harms way but it’s not the case
I know there are "whistle signs" but the engineer of that locomotive was horn happy. ...and it was cool to hear the blast of those Nelson's !
I wear a helmet and reflective vest. Blinky yellow light on top of the truck sometimes. And then just ignore them.
The road is public access from center to 33 feet out from center of the road.
Your description of the wife got my sub 🤣🤣
Dealin with a karen lol
just after the 2 min mark were that a gun being shot? if so time for the police to get involved.
No gun was involved, if there was, I’d have been shooting back with mine. And yes, the cops did get called, and the Karen’s didn’t get their way.
WHAT IS THIS LOCATION?
WITH WINTER IN KANSAS I MAY SOME WINTER DAY COME SOUTH FOR A FEW DAYS!!
Just south of Yoakum, Texas
@@TexasSpecial91 HAMPLE RD??
@@rossbryan6102 Boyd Road I think.
Geez. Some dude procreated with that creature? Don't drink or do drugs, kids!
a gov't bigfoot experiment gone wrong.
i wasnt railfanning, but was parked on a public street waiting for my granddaughter to get off work and security came out , and told me i couldnt park there because it was private property , i corrected him and stayed where i was
Sad when people have nothing better to do with their time, but infringe it on others who are minding their own business.
I feel sad for the daughter, who has to be raised by her, it's not going to go well.
Woman was definitely a stereotypycal Karen.
I'm surprised Karen didn't ask to speak to the manager.
Know your rights and be polite. The rest is on them...
Surprising. Most cops are pretty ignorant about where property lines are and how easements affect them.
What the southern pacific did they say
You could get closer than that depending on your shot.
I had my boy with me on this chase and the location before this, we’d spent about 45 minutes in the sun waiting for the train to pass. Where we were parked in the video, we were under the shade of a tree. That’s why I parked on that side of the road
What is wrong by taking videos of the train
Absolutely nothing.
I treat others how they treat me. I was laughed at whilst filming trains at King's Langley, and they got the response "you're not perfect are you!?'. They soon stopped laughing. Train enthusiasts do no harm to anyone.
Lady got out of the shower for that 🤣😭
poor shower...........
Jeeeez!!! What is going on with all these confrontations!?? And this is also in Texas? WOW!!!! Just…wow. I can clearly see how angry that lady was at the end of this video.
Yoakum, Texas
Literally had this experience once but at TVRM While try to get a shot of 4501 but then they start complaining about the shirt I’m wearing that’s apparently too offensive to people
What is it with these people that can't mind their own business? I'd have done exactly the same with that Karen and told her to F off and mind her own business. The police should charge her with disturbing the peace and for harassing that man.
I always get " HEY ! what are you filming ???"
He is the one with an attitude!
Come to Altoona, PA
We are a train and railfan friendly town!
I'm a railfan too if I experience something like that I will call the cops as well because what she's doing is harassment.
Never seen cross bucks with a "yield" sign. It's funny, when you think about it.
Looks like a great spot, need a railfan meet up there now 😂
Need an army of people to go there, park on the road shoulder, take films & photos. Let Karen scream at them all.
lmao the same shit happened to me in Romania, except that i was at a railway station and someone who pretended to be a ”security guard” (even tho he didnt legitimize himself in front of me) told me im not allowed to film the station cause its ”state owned property”. and to add to the ridiculousness, the stationmaster sided with this dubious person and even wanted to talk to my dad on the phone.
so really, i feel the pain. it would be the cherry on the cake if someone unironically told me ”why cant you enjoy this hobby from home?”.
I feel sorry for that dog 😢
Great sounding K5LLA!
The best part about her is the dogs, thats the thing that balances out the crappyness
It's a shame you had to experience that with your son. Karens got to do what Karens do.
ur not the only one, when i go to anahiem people pull over because they think were going to commit suicide
They don't know who you are and jump to the wrong conclusions.
@@jamestonybrown1712
They know who you are, they’re afraid of losing their jobs because a manager watched your video of them and saw them break some obscure rule in a rule book about 6” thick.
Those managers are like small town cops that were the school bullies when they were young and got the cop job so they could continue to bully their schoolmates for the rest of their lives. They can and will take those train crew’s jobs from them for the most minor offense.
They probably don’t want videographers taping them breaking FRA/company rules while working
We value the support the rail community provides to our officers and rely on their continuing understanding that the intent of any contact by police is part an effort to further the safety of our railway and the communities where we operate."
If you have a bad interaction with a BNSF Employee and you are not on property, turn them into the nearest Trainmaster.
I would have to put Lawry's Aerosol in my budget.
It's sad that her uninvited voice and rant is heard over that of the scanner chatter...
isnt it easier to just say, "im filming trains because i like them! I even havea youtube channel, check it out :)" then being all sassy and protective? the dude was just curious...
omg bro I'm so glad this hasn't happened to me, sorry man. At least you got a laugh and 61K views out of it!
Karen's think they own everything and Karen's think they own the public locations.
at :07 seconds, your locomotive is supposed to catch fire too.
