That intro with the garage lifting up got me super hyped up that I own the exact same car! Same color, same year, same model, same everything! Our cars are basically twins! With that said, I've owned mine since my best friend passed away in 2017. It used to be his and I bought it from his family after he died. He always wanted a K20 swap in it so I feel obligated to do my best to make that happen. I want to modify this car exactly the way he wanted, and fortunately him and I have practically the same taste! No mods yet, still bone stock. Have kept it in my garage covered up since 2017. Haven't had extra money to throw it's way but that's finally starting to change! My daily is an S4 Audi that I love, but the EF is so sentimental to me for obvious reasons! I treat the EF way better than I treat my S4!
I found a 1990 Honda Civic Hatchback all original, the owner stated he got a new truck and just parked it and never used again . sitting for 11 years towed in home and started fixing it. After cleaning out the fuel system and replacing many parts the Honda kicked right over and started up. It's a great car and plan on doing some performance upgrades next year. Till then it's a daily driver !!!
That is awesome ride, and soooooo clean! Absoultey love it! Very few survivors like that which haven't been completely distastefully modified like most other Honda SI Specimens. I love the rooster part - we are usually dealing with barking dogs in the neighborhood and just play on it as you did. Hilarious and well played! I also like that you are taking the approach of leaving it as-is to preserve it original, rather than totally re-doing it. After seeing you use Klasse again, I'm definitely getting around to buying some now.....if I don't forget....:)
I have more expensive cars but man this thing brings a lot of joy! I absolutely love driving it, and you can drive it hard on public streets without going to jail, which is nice. Ceramic coatings are BS. I
SI ef... god... how many ways to go. d16y7 swap, lobe delet vtec cam, built motor, spend the extra on straight cut gears and a lsd/suspension and you have the best driving car ever....
a few years ago i got a crx si but the button was rusted and i sold it. it was nice but needed work, the price on these shot to the roof i paid maybe 2 grand.
Beautiful EF! IMO, this is a perfect B18 car. No Ks, this car is too light. The direction you're going is also perfect. Wish I had one still. My wife's Base model is long gone. Outside of a Integra Type R, possibly the best handling Honda of the D-B era motor cars.
Oh... and re: integra being best handling.... that was "stock". Given the size/weight of these cars and similar/identical suspension geometry, I'd have to say an EF with aftermarket suspension should be able to outhandle a Type R integra. IMHO the EF is the superior chassis once you consider modifications.
@@addvancedgarage yes. And, I agree the EF with proper setup and a small power bump would be slick AF. I had an '01 GSR. It had good power but lacked something my wife's EF had. Loved my GSR the most.
Thing is definitely clean as ever. GC's and Koni's are a winning combination. I had them along with some camber plates on an E30 I built a long time ago and I was definitely satisfied with them, especially for the $. You'd definitely be hard pressed to find one that's anywhere near as clean that's not all molested. You're absolutely correct about the posers (more like ricers,) that love to put a big obnoxious fart can with the stock tiny ass exhaust, a short ram (warm air) intake with no heat shield and don't forget the dumb ass tow hook when they don't track the car, speed holes in the rear bumper and a ton of stupid ass stickers. That's the majority of the ricers/ Honda owners. LOL sad but true, so you were extremely lucky to have found this chassis in this condition.👍😎
@@addvancedgarage It doesn't sound obnoxious like some do, at least not in your videos. I'd throw a Magnaflow or one of those Vibrant 'stealth series' black ones. They're both good quality, don't sound shitty and the packing won't blow out. Only really makes sense if the rest of the exhaust is a decent size/ mandrel bent, etc. Headers are wicked cheap and a good upgrade too. The DC Sports, Skunk 2's, etc are made well, fit good, and most importantly- make power. There are definitely plenty of tasteful things you can do to that thing.
