I have to say that I was shocked when I noticed how small the subway system of Toronto is. I have lived in Sydney and Melbourne on Australia and was impressed by how advanced their transit is down there!! On top they are also adding a metro line like in Paris (underground and yes it comes on top of the current transit that already exist in Sydney). On transit side, I am sorry to say but Australia does a much better job than Canada, even Vancouver! Now 2 years ago, I have been to Santiago de Chile! You know what??? They had 4 lines of underground trains! It is really not bad knowing that Chile is still a developing economy!!!!! Canada should do way better for wheee it stands now! It just shouldn’t be happy with “good enough” when it comes to transit! Even the French speaking Canadians in Montreal seem to be way better than Toronto in terms of transit system! And you know what is the worst or… the best???? Even AFRICA has some acceptable transit: ruclips.net/video/HuNRmsF26_U/видео.html
The bus and streetcar system cover most of Toronto anyways, and service is pretty good on those two. I would say Toronto is pretty good. Plus 2 new LRT lines will be opening in the coming years.
Love those spring loaded "death stoppers" between some of the train cars to prevent people from going between the train cars. Much cheaper than putting up anti suicide walls.
Believe it or not by 2031 under the current plans and if things go well, I did some measurements and found out that we will have 224 km worth of subway and light rail in Toronto (including extensions) Incredible!
Heh, I'm doing a project on my computer on expanding the metro & light rail system in Toronto. On my project, it will comprise 545.8 km of subway (or underground as we brits call) and light rail! And that is the subway and light rail excluding the Toronto streetcar lines! In fact, the system would have 15 lines in total (both metro and light rail) with lines extending as far out as Brampton, Mississauga, Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Markham!!!! This would make Toronto's system very comparable to Europe and Asia! This is from someone who wants to be involved in transport projects in the future, and especially during the coronavirus emergency forcing me to stay at home, I felt that doing Transport projects on my computer would be something very fun!
0:35 brings a Vancouverite who visited Toronto much joy

Pretty sure the T1s on Bloor-Danforth still make those sounds

I remember always hearing those sounds when I rode on the subway with my parents, and wondering what made them lol
Ah yes my favorite subway system i have been on this one countless times.
Cool this reminds me of the subway in new york

Your giving my brain a remix now of what to say you can stop talking about the subway
All the stations appeared to be really clean
The rocket is my favourite since it's so much shinier and sleeker than the old models. Lack of exposed riveting.
in comparison to all the countries i have been Toronto has one of the least developed subway systems. At least they can keep the stations clean
ricky weston Baltimore has a above ground subway that is even less developed it only has 14 stations
Yeah Baltimore is bad.
You don’t know the real struggle until you travel from Kipling station to Kennedy 😂😂
It seems like fun
Just dont go during rush hour, and st geroge, spadina and bloor-younge wont be bad
Can't Wait for Confederation line here in Ottawa!
Kareem Byam I’m enjoying Ottawa rail it definitely does Rivel the Toronto subway
@@matthewgregory8218 Me too, I also made a video of it on my channel.
I have to go from Pape Station to Spadina Station for work. much faster and you don't have to deal with Toronto traffic.

You should prob see Montreal’s metro system, a lot of people were impressed by it.
Streetcars cover much more. Also, we’re building several big new lines in the next ten years.
Trust me fellow commonwealthers we are trying. Just a lot of work ahead of us to get to our former transportation glory. We envy your systems
Ever since the day the g20-summit started, it appears that Toronto and Sydney, Australia are just as busy as London and sometimes Paris too.
David Mu Ottawa’s rail may actually trumph Toronto’s and everyone’s around the world with bing the busiest line

Nice trains! Nice video!
1:30-1:33 Do I hear a R110A propulsion???
Not sure what that is but can confirm that you will hear it when near a stopping train here in Toronto.

No line 4?
TTC yay
Its very similar to CPTM here in São Paulo

I thought it was as clean as Sydney but it doesn't seem to be...

Alstom
No it's bombardier

Having a flat-rate itself is a pretty great deal for the riders
Infinitely nicer than BART..
Bart is basically our line 3 Scarborough. Loud and old but very efficient

And
Emm me parece que se copiaron un poquito al metro de Nueva York, no se, digo jeje
No.. they didn't copy the NYC subway
