NOW THAT I HAD TIME TO TAKE PROPER MEASUREMENTS:
Tyler binder (#FranklinCovey)
Classic size the way I have it filled-
10 1/4 inches top to bottom
8 inches side to side
2 inches wide
(Rings are 1.5 in this binder)
VS
Moterm A5
9 1/4 inches top to bottom
7.5 inches side to side
1.75 inches wide
(Rings are 1.25 in this binder)
Similarities:
Black pebbled leather
Good amount of pockets in both
Differences:
FC zips
Moterm has great functional large pockets
Weight: FC much heavier and bulky
Moterm light weight and fits easier in a purse or work bag
Structure: Moterm pliable , FC structured
Mental note:
A5 is a very common size in planner world so inserts and tabs etc are much easier to come about
FC classic is a more speciality insert because of the 7 hole system

Simple is best. I use FC compact with FC monthlies and notepaper for my weekly & daily lists. The line spacing of their inserts is too narrow for me.

Binged on your videos! Great content. New subdue!!
Welcome :)
I bought FC compact/personal wide Moterm binder, but think I need a larger classic/A5size. Iβm struggling to find Monthly dividers that I like β¦ I canβt find anything like FC β¦ but the 7 holes really screws up use of A5 6 ring binder. And i like daily β¦ Whatβs a girl to do?!!
Eeeekkk! An option would be to look at Etsy shops and ask the seller of any you like if they are willing to not hole punch (many are great with that) and then have the A5 hole punch at home and TADAAAAA divider peace ;)
What about Filofax? Where does it fit into the mix? Thank you for this video!
Moterm A5 is same size as the Filofax (my weekly inserts are filofax :)
I donβt use filofax (I tried in the past) was their lack of pocket space and the cost of them versus what I get in a Moterm made it difficult to justify
How do you store the Filofax or do you store them?
Hi Jen I keep them on a shelf but not in dust bags
FC binders are too huge and outdated and 7 rings are ugly. Moterm is much better. I've seen people just punching FC pages into moterm.
I canβt say I think their ugly because my Tyler binder my all time favorite because of the black rings ;) but Moterm is a winner for sure in my mind
How do you put FC inserts into Moterm β¦ the hole positions donβt work, do they?
@@loriallred4727 That was the trickiest part for me not tricky in a sense of logistically if that makes sense Iβm on Siri if this looks choppy but what I will say is I had to decide no longer to use my FranklinCovey inserts so I use A5 ones but Iβm using the Filofax inserts those are the ones that seem to work the best for me
@@ChooseYourPlanning Itβs so frustrating how Franklin is the only company that makes those 7 hole binders and inserts (other than At a glance) so it forces you to use their binders with the inserts. I really like the inserts but find the binders too bulky for me. Plus the big Moterm pocket is awesome!
