Lamar scrambles 8.1% of the time. He's 12th in the league in scramble rate. Josh Allen is 13th with a 8.0% scramble rate. What is staggering though is he's 30th in the league in rush EPA among quarterbacks. His rushing EPA per attempt is 0, and he's like 130th in the league. In other words, we do a lot of designed runs which are ineffective on average, and he's nowhere near as effective as other qb's at scrambling because he's indecisive in taking off. He only leads the league in rushing because of the volume of design runs he has.

I dont care about run yards or even attempts. It's all about 2 concepts - taking more high percentage plays, and using the threat of run to create conflict. I don't want to see a deep cross to a covered Agholor on 3rd and 2. Throw it if it's open, but if not, scramble for the first. Don't throw screens to throw screens. Throw screens to beat blitzes. Use levels on waggles. Tempt the backer forward and bloop it over his head. Need to see more guys stuck in no man's land. If they stay back in coverage then blow by them.
If Lamar starts to take what the defense gives him, finding the perfect balance of passing and running when needed, and not worry about the haters respecting him as a traditional QB, he will be absolutely unstoppable. Lamar deserves a ring just as much as any QB, but if he doesn't change his way of thinking , hes only cheating himself. Look at the end to last years season
