What shop did you get your parts from I have two of these no9 (s) one on steel and one on air ride tires that need rims both need Many other parts as well (they were neglected) I also have a new idea four bar needing a seat with bracket, and a new idea l62 hay loader needing wheels I won't be working on the horse drawn hay equipment yet but I would like to save the name/location of the shops that have parts . The reason I'm not ready is because I am,,, after helping run my family's horse show at Hendersons arena in Jackson Ohio- the buckeye summer classic,,, going to be going to, Albright saw to get my 1888 frick size 0 circlemill up and running. It gets first priority because I'm building a hay loft barn and building the mill/upper level shop with the lumber from it my intentions are to start a carriage shop I even bought a buggy wheel tire machine from the auction of Steven stutzman's dad's shop and Steven has been a great help and introduced me to the suppliers of the carrage parts in northern Ohio what I want my shop to be capable of doing is building/restoring all manner of horse drawn equipment including the ground driven implements

Wes that sounds very interesting and you definitely are in the right part of the country to get something like that going. I get my parts from Vernon at Farmers Equipment and Repair in Baltic Ohio. 844-701-9146. He has a huge bone yard out back with pretty much any kind of equipment parts you may be looking for as well as a new inventory inside. Very helpful guy, Good luck on your projects and endeavors and thx for watching! Dave

The groove in the ball on the sickle is actually factory. It's put there so that oil can run down into and around the ball.

@@bdradley1 yessir. I have spent hundreds of hours on a mower like that, literally know them inside out😄 Love em tho!

@@benhawk44 I have a few hours on them and I mean a few. Its always someone else and always operational so I've never learned all of the idiosyncrasies associated with them. As I go through mine I totally get them. I will finish the restoration on it in the fall when the humidity dies and then post an updated video! Thx Ben

Nice rebuild. Where did you go in Ohio? Holmes county ?

Thank you I appreciate it! There will eventually be a video of the finished product. Yes I go to Holmes Co twice a year, it’s addictive there. I have befriended some Amish that let me stay with them. I knew nothing about the area or anyone there the first time I went. I’ve only been going there about 18 months but have made many great connections and friends. Thx for watching! Dave

Did you ever replace the guards? If so where did you buy them? Can you still buy the knifes or do they need to be made? I just bought an IH #9 which looks identical to this. Thanks

Still working on it. You can get whatever you need from Vernon at Farmers Equipment in Ohio. Hope that helps.
