      I wonder how Luke’s (thunderhead 289) carb cheater would do for this application. It could come in handy for applications like this possibly. It would be cool to see what it does regarding boost.

    Boost referenced power valve will fix the WOT lean condition. That way you can have lean cruise but throw fuel at it when boost comes in.

    22:56 love this whole bit "I'd NEVER do this" proceeds to do it 😂 also thought your idea of bolting the manifold to the header flange while welding was genius. Keeps it flat and will draw heat. Don't listen to the haters, you're doing great.

    I found your channel from junkyard digs! New subscriber. Also you are right about the 360 compression ratio. Its abysmal due to the stroke being less than on a 390. The piston sits a good bit below the deck of the block. Low compression means its prime for boost! 😈

    low compression isnt awful if you plan to boost the engine though. lower compression means less detonation under boost.
    not sure that wastegate will do much as it has no boost running through it.

    Seems like a sniper system for blow through may have been a better option since it seems the carb is a little bit difficult for you to tune.

    There's an oil feed restrictor fitting on my Hellion setup...the turbo doesn't need 100% of the oil pressure...I didn't hear you mention that part.

      He mentioned a Crown Vic as the "other stuff" for the truck. My bet is he's front end swapping it and most likely going with the 4.6 out of a Vic as well so he clearly never cared about the 360 as well as no one else.

    around 9 seconds to 60 is pretty ok for a stock truck

    What all did you do with the carb to boost prep it? Pulled 1 check valve? Do anything with power valves? An electric inline pump and regulator would save you lots of time/effort as well. And what sized line and fittings did you use for the drain? I bet the motors fine. Just sounds like a fueling and oil drain issue. Guys never read the suggested oil drain size and run into that all the time. Most need a ¾ ID drain.

      Running lean has nothing to do with an engine blowing. Running factory natural aspiration ring end gap on a boosted setup has everything to do with it, I reckon

    Now I wanna know how slow my 68’ f250 is 0-60. I swapped a 302 into it and threw in a mild cam. Honestly not sure that little 302 Weil ever measure up to the low end torque of an FE though

    So you're going to do a Crown Vic swap on the front end, huh? Nice! I do like your turbo set up. The only concern I'd have is, your spark plug wires being too close to the pipe. Maybe not? I think it would be killer if you eventually turned it into a short bed truck. Time to rebuild that tired old 360 into a 428. I'd repaint that front gravel guard and find a nice grill for it.

    I’m a diehard Ford man but a 360 is probably the worst motor Ford makes to turbo cause turning that motor over 4500 will be the death of it or if you miss a gear it’s gonna bend some push rods if it doesn’t have some all ready and at that kind of RPM it will start to collapse lifters and robbing some of the oil pressure for the turbo will make them collapse even faster and stay collapsed longer cause it’s gonna take longer for the oil pressure to recover. Get a good 390 and you won’t need a turbo and have all the power that truck can handle safely

    Quite love the build, makes me want to turbo my Ford 4.0 sohc though I know it will absolutely kill that poor little worn out v6. Also it probably didn't help that Kevin was fighting this engine or the previous one with a lifter and maybe the curse of that murdered it?

    Hey, unless you try a new method (welding the manifold heads while bolted to the old manifold) or a new trick, you'll never know whether its going to work or not. I'd rather make stuff on my own anyway.

    I had a 1970 Ford F100 that had a 360 with a 3 speed of the column , compression is up to where it's supposed to be it should be 10: to 1
    The smoke looks like gasoline it's flooded, lower your floats in the carburetor.

    I think you should stick to efi. Stay away from carbs. It's obvious it's a fuel issue every time you beat on it.
