    *Galactic Odyssey: Love and War*
    1. *Peace & Prosperity:* In the distant future, in the year 3XXX, humanity has evolved beyond their singular home planet, conquered the solar system, and begun pioneering the stars. In doing so, they learned that they're not the only ones. Through conflict, time, and effort, co-existence was established. When lightspeed is no longer the universal speed limit, the galaxy is a small place, but despite that, there's plenty of resources to go around and all intelligent life in the Milky Way has been well-intentioned, so far. On this peaceful day on the home planet of humans, Earth, a cheerful young man, Duke Daring, enjoys a picnic with a woman he quite fancies, Alotta Love. Little did they know how quickly such a day could turn...
    2. *Invaders from Afar:* Until this point, no one had ventured out of the galaxy to search for life, and likewise, no had ventured in... until now. An impressive ship envelops the sky. Messengers come down stating they're from Andromeda, the nearest galaxy to our own. Their galaxy was chaotic, with many resources depleted, but it's been recently unified under one banner and their message is simple: Leave if you want to live; The Milky Way is ours now.
    3. *Preparing for War:* Given little time to comply, communications were sent to others in the Milky Way to see if they were in a similar situation. At the same time, a draft was implemented for the impending conflict. Both Duke and Alotta reluctantly joined to protect the peace they've known their whole lives. Most people could already pilot a spacecraft, though Duke had attained the highest certification, so their short time in training covered the weapons systems and combat maneuvers, though it wasn't too different from VR simulations they were familiar with. Duke and Alotta spent their final leg of training in the spacecraft carrier orbiting the planet.
    4. *First Strike:* They were supposed to have more time, but maybe the enemy knew they weren't going to leave without a fight, or they were just lying from the start. The Andromeda Assault begins! The first strike is intense and chaotic, with an impressive fleet of all sizes and capabilities taking part. The recruits are given emergency orders to deploy all space jets before the carrier is taken out. Hearts racing, the recruits realize this isn't like VR at all.
    5. *A Love is Lost:* In a flurry of ships and laserfire, Duke and Alotta fly in formation side by side. Their first combat, nerves are high. Duke wants to confess his love to Alotta, but doesn't want to distract either of them in the moment. He decides he'll do it when things settle down, but war isn't always so smooth. It happened in a flash. Alotta may not have even realized until it was too late. No words spoken, her jet obliterated, no goodbye, no confession of love. Duke is in disbelief. He screams at the war-torn sky, not even knowing where the shot came from, with tears in his eyes, almost hoping he would be next.
    6. *Unyielding Rage:* Regret quickly turns to rage and Duke goes an a one man assault with complete reckless abandon. The team leader radios Duke to get back in formation, but he smashes the radio and continues in his crusade of destruction, leaving nothing but scrap metal and explosions in his wake. It isn't long before the Andromeda Assault is halted, but they claim they were only the scout fleet and that the true force of Andromeda has yet to descend upon them. Duke is happy to hear that, since his triumph over the fleet that killed Alotta brought him no closure or satisfaction; Rage still welled up inside him.
    7. *Emptiness:* Despite Duke's constant violation of orders, his skill and accolades earned him several promotions as more and bigger fleets continued to attack; This isn't a time of peace where appearances and decorum can take priority over actions and results. Duke took them, as long as he was able to continue to pilot. Wave after wave, Duke faced them all with no fear, but as time went on, his rage began to fade and there was nothing to replace it. He realized these endless fleets would never satiate his need for revenge and that he alone couldn't end this war; Duke was an empty man, carrying out the duties he no longer cared about to bring about a peace he felt would never be achieved again. When a man falls so low, can he ever smile again? Can anyone help him out?
    8. *New Alliance. New Hope. New Love?:* It took some time, but every civilization in the Milky Way has finally been able to convene. They have all been fighting similar battles against other waves of Andromeda Fleets, but now, in a brief lull as Andromeda reforms for their next attack, they too have reformed and created the Galactic Warriors, an alliance of all their fighting forces. Among one cyborg civilization, a beautiful yet deadly looking cyborg warrior, Hope Moore, is excited to meet the Ace of Earth's forces. Her image of him is quickly shattered and she is angry to see the sad state he's in. Despite this, she requests to work to under him and see him in action. His performance on the battlefield does not disappoint, and neither does hers, and the two naturally while working together begin to talk and share their past. Hope lost her love in the initial attack on her world as well and the two bond over that. She slowly restores Duke's faith in complete victory over Andromeda, as the Galactic Warriors now rival the Andromeda Assault Force in size and unity, and the remaining fleets have grouped together with The Flagship. This means the next battle could end it all, and this time, the Galactic Warriors will attack first!
    9. *Laser Assault:* For the first time since the war's start, Duke felt nervous and excited, the light back in his eyes. He saw both the chance for true victory and vengeance. Intercepted communications revealed The Flagship was headed by Capt. Calamity, one of the top brass of Andromeda's Council, and the man who orchestrated and spearheaded this war for the Milky Way's resources. The Warriors hit them hard and fast, similar to what they did to Earth, but this time they controlled the chaos. The Assault Force was formidable, but it takes an overwhelming force to conduct a Siege on a galaxy. Now that the odds have evened and the Warriors controlled the nearby planets, supply stations, secret bases, etc., the victor was obvious. The fleets destroyed and The Flagship looking defunct, Galactic Warrior Command ordered all ships back so that they could use the survivors as a bargaining chip for peace talks with Andromeda. As always, Duke disregarded orders and entered into the flagship. Hope followed.
    10. *Final Battle:* As they enter the ship, Hope connects to a functioning relay center and sees that the survivors will attempt to use some escape ships nestled in the center of The Flagship, then detonate the main engines in a way that would cause a supernova-like explosion, threatening several nearby solar systems. She tells Duke where to find Capt. Calamity and goes off to find the main computer and stop the explosion. As Hope gets deeper into the ship, there are more working security features and grunts who've stayed behind to defend against the intruders, but Hope is one her people's greatest warriors with a samurai-like mind and a deadly arsenal hidden within her half-machine body; She makes her way with little effort. Duke doesn't get far before seeing an imposing figure waiting for him. It's Capt. Calamity, a fierce looking fighter who is more machine than man. The two begin to scrap. Duke is more than an ace pilot, with a hardened resolve, hand-to-hand combat training with some of the Galactic Warrior's strongest fighters, and a suit physically enhancing him. The two throw haymakers but neither will fall. Duke realizes that Capt. Calamity is just as angry at him for foiling his plans as Duke is at him for killing Alotta and bringing war to his world, but Calamity, while hotheaded is still pragmatic. Realizing that there is nothing for him to gain, he throws Duke across the room and heads towards the escape ships. Before he leaves, he points at Duke and declares, "This is only the beginning". Duke quickly retorts, "No, attack again and it'll be your end". Calamity leaves with an eerie laugh.
    11. *Victory:* Hope meets backs up with Duke, who's breathing heavy on the floor. As he gets to his feet, she tells him she stopped the solar-system level explosion, but they should still leave the ship in case of smaller ones. He tells her of Calamity's escape with that empty look in his eyes, but she holds his hands and brings him closer to her telling him it's okay. It will take years, even decades, to orchestrate another attack from another galaxy, giving them plenty of time to prepare for, or pre-emptively stop, it. Victory is theirs! Duke embraces Hope!
    12. *New Beginnings:* Peace has been restored! The galaxy celebrates. Duke and Hope both retire. He takes her to Earth and they go on a picnic. They both pay respects to their lost loves and then look ahead to new beginnings. Both can't help but smile from the innermost depths of their soul, something they haven't been able to do in so long.
