hey NewRetroWave. I'm looking for fonts that are EXACTLY like those you've used for your logo (especially for the RETRO and the WAVE). Actually, I want to make a logo in a 80's SF style. could you help me ?
This was my son's favorite music. He left me in May 2017. I sit in the dark, close my eyes, and just cry as I listen to this. I miss him so much. This brings him to me even just temporarily.
Don't even know what to write. I just imagine in 10 years or whatever it will still be hard to just be happy without feeling weird/bad. I hope you will live a good life!
Klayton, or any of his aliases, is one of the only artists where I straight up cannot listen to one song on any of his albums. Not a single one. I have to start with the first song and listen through to the last every time I listen to one. My ears won't allow me to take in any less than 100%. I hope he's proud of the art he produces.
Me too, well mostly. I had to take a break re-listening to this video release yesterday and come back to it today as I have people living nextdoor that don't like loud music too late in the evening after they've gone to bed.
RUclips recommended this to me again. Just like 7 years ago I got this recommended. What a time. It made me fall in love with synthwave and also Celldweller. I miss those days
This album is an absolute masterpiece. My favorite album of all time. Every other album has some songs that you might want to skip over, but in this one, every single song is amazing.
And how faithful the cover is! He wouldn't stop at the word "cover" if it wasn't perfect in recreation, and tuned into music that made it better than original.
I thought the vocals were familiar. I like Celldweller as a concept, I liked his direction overall, pretty creative stuff. BUT I just couldnt get into their music. I felt it sounded as if it was created for the sole purpose of popularity and though the image of celldweller was pretty original, the progressions throughout his songs were mundane, albeit confettied with synth work. I much prefer his scandroid work over his saturated dub coked out electronic alt rock music he had going on for celldweller.
Somehow, I instinctively knew that Celldweller had something to do with this. I actually prefer this to Celldweller even though I do like Celldweller as well.
4 years and six months ago I found this video by random and fell in love with Scandroid (and Klayton's other music right after) and Synthwave. How time flies
This cover of Shout still impresses me. Klayton's voice sounds so similar to the original. He did a great job there! This album will always be one of my favorites of all time
It's nice and simple: this album sets the standard. Once you've heard it, anything else is measured by comparing it to this stunning work. This is both a blessing and a curse, in my opinion, but given how easy it is to play again and again it warrants to be set as a favourite and needs to be a go-to when not certain what else to listen to. Outstanding work!
That 'Shout' was something epic. It made me feel like a totality of all possible electric energy in the universe that can travel at instant whenever, wherever in a disco style.

I had the exact same reaction. Didn't realize it was Klayton until I looked at the details AFTER listening to the whole album from beginning to end. I've been a huge fan of Celldweller for a while now, especially Klayton's darker, more eerie tracks like "Seven Sisters" or "So Long Sentiment", and his lyrically profound songs like " Louder Than Words" or "Jericho". I fell in love with Scandroid without realizing that it was the same person! That only makes it better!
so freakin' cool a retro band that actually has vocals, which is a big plus for me. i also like how they have a narrative and do a little world-building with their story. and they come up with some pretty cool sounds

Phenomenal album. I was given the album and a matching scandroid t-shirt as a gift back in 2017. Still reminds me of driving across the country with this as the only CD I had in the car. Listened to it multiple times a day, everyday for 2 weeks.

eartianwerewolf As long as you've got the shekels (or maybe credits) to shell out to the corporate overlords come the cyberpunk future I reckon you could buy a bot programmed and designed however you want. Weird shit being more expensive, probably.
You just gotta find the right girl. Y'know, one who's into circuits and chrome servos. =P There are about 990,000 unmarried females about your age on the planet right now. The odds are in your favor if you take the time to look.
I can't believe it's so many years ago since like 2016 that I found this artist and with it all the other projects of Klayton and also a whole bunch of other cool stuff like The Anix, RAIZER, Blue Stahli and the whole syntwave and electronic metal genre. Bless this man! Funny thing is that I found this video through a cyberpunk inspired trance music mix originally.
*****"Celldweller" is Klayton's primary alias and musical project. He has stated in interviews that Scandroid is not a name he wishes to tour under, and it was intended to be his "love letter" to the 80's, and not meant to fully represent himself as Celldweller does.
You saved my life, in bad times and sleeples night i sang your songs in my mind and now here i am, feel free to make a song from this comment, still the truth tho. ty man
I love this mix when I'm coding. It just feels like you're dropping into some surreal, dystopian future. Makes my imagination light up like you can't imagine. I also have the Mohawk guy as my wallpaper on my iphone and I get people commenting on it all the time. Beautiful art, beautiful mix. You got yourself another sub. Love your work, keep it up!
This album is so moving. It return myself each day I listen it. Infinites thanks to you flippin' SCANDROID guy, you're so real. I cannot describe how your music Is perfect, but it is for me these days. Thanks thanks thanks to NRW for this. All my love.
Nick did the first few tracks with Klayton on this project. He then left the Scandroid project to focus on Varien. The EP he did with 7 Minutes Dead were scraped ideas for Scandroid.
***** Well, Klayton kind of does. I can't say about the CD version of the album, but the cassette copy that I own says the following: "All songs written, produced performed & mixed by Klayton (Celldweller Music - ASCAP). "Salvation Code" & "Datastream" written by Klayton and Nick Pittsinger." This same information is on the Bandcamp page for the album. I also kind of wish Nick's contribution to the project was more talked about in interviews with Klayton, but it's incorrect to say that he was not credited to being involved in the project at one point.
Really? I always saw it as Pittsinger. That's what he goes by on Facebook. At least, since the last time I saw any sort of post from him, which was probably a month or two ago.
During this entire soundtrack, I am dressed up in Tron gear and somehow skating on lazers through a pixelated landscape, blasting Space-Invaders-esque pixelated nightmares with energy beams from my eyes. Effing awesome.

That's some new type of music? As somone who likes 80s dance and newer vibes I find this amazing. Klayton is simply awesome. This alter ego of his rocks as well as Celldweller.
Каждый раз думаю, что Клейтон достиг предела своего совершенства, и с каждым новым его проектом вижу как ошибалась. Каждая новая работа - приятный сюрприз, открывающий новые грани его таланта. А простыми словами FUCKING AWESOME!
Klayton has other projects too: Circle of Dust and I Will Never Be The Same, the first is kinda rock and the other a type of metal if you're interested.
Daym. Datastream's got me feelin good, over here. You were amazing doing Celldweller projects, now you do awesome Scandroid stuff. I love your style. :)
This album is dope as fuck, why isnt this a thing, man? Solid sounds, powerful beats, great vocals, why arent we funding this? Never learned about synthwave until today and man its a ride. I. Am. Hooked.
I think cyberpunk is too cyber for it. Doesn't have that retro touch to it. Embraces dehumanization of humanity more than digital dreams of future that came true.
@@hotlinemiammary The moment you comment on a Varien track to mention he should collaborate with Klayton, only to discover he worked with him in Scandroid Yay new musics!

Totally Cyberpunk! :)
I can see CD Projekt RED composing Synthwave for Cyberpunk 2077. I swear the genre was made for Cyberpunk
Scandroid should make the soundtrack for that game!
That's more or less accurate. It really came from Carpenter's reliance on Synth in films that all had gritty sci-fi elements.
James Cameron should be mentioned too. I don't know where Darksynth would be without the Terminator 1 score.
True!
I'm so happy that nearly 3 million people know about this project of Klayton (Celldweller)

(the whole album does tbf but that one especially)
May I suggest checking out a Mashup involving datastream called "accelerated datastream"?
@@kaden-sd6vb hey! Thanks! Just checked it out and added it :))
Каждый раз думаю, что Клейтон достиг предела своего совершенства, и с каждым новым его проектом вижу как ошибалась. Каждая новая работа - приятный сюрприз, открывающий новые грани его таланта. А простыми словами FUCKING AWESOME!
I love that voice. Kept thinking "the guy sounds just like Celldweller"
Well, duh. It is Klayton singing. F yea
"Singularity" makes me think about the Blade Runner ost ! ;-) love this album
I remember when this first came out i listened to the entire album like 20 times i love this masterpiece i love you klayton❤
i have such a synthboner right now.
This album is dope as fuck, why isnt this a thing, man? Solid sounds, powerful beats, great vocals, why arent we funding this? Never learned about synthwave until today and man its a ride. I. Am. Hooked.
I falled in love with Aphelion!
this is my new fav. channel on yt.. found so much good music thanks to you ! I bought so many albums on bandcamp tonight
Really hope Cyberpunk 2077's soundtrack is anything like this.
Absolutely agree
Hell no, man, these tunes are way too bright for Cyberpunk's setting.
FlyingTritons I didn't say I hope Cyberpunk has these tunes. I said I hope Cyberpunk has tunes anything like this. They are not the same thing.
I think it will be more dark and atmospheric, but perhaps BloodDragon 2 would be perfect with music like this.
I think cyberpunk is too cyber for it. Doesn't have that retro touch to it. Embraces dehumanization of humanity more than digital dreams of future that came true.
I LOVE your music, dude. This is the kind of stuff I've been looking for all my life, I think.
I really like Klayton, he's so talented.
My favorite album to listen while programing!! this music is so good!!!
I was thinking this sounds a lot like Celldweller, then I googled and understood :P
General rule: If it sounds like Celldweller, it probably is Celldweller in another form
@@hotlinemiammary The moment you comment on a Varien track to mention he should collaborate with Klayton, only to discover he worked with him in Scandroid
Yay new musics!
@@HoboWally Or if you want scandroid to collab with celldweller. lol
