OMG's these folk are tremendous. As a 50's baby, the 80's started with me out on my own solo, starting a career and raising my daughters. THIS! This sounds like how that decade felt. Retröxx, you nailed it. Bless you.
2017 I happened across synthwave on JimTV's channel and didn't know what it was or who the artists were. He didn't credit any artists in his mixes, took me several months to eventually figure out what I was listening to thanks to youtube recommendations.

This genre is what the old Amiga "Soundtracker" module music evolved into. I can hear echoes of Ackerlight, North Star, 4-Mat, Chris Hülsbeck and other Amiga greats in these pieces. It really takes me back to the demoscene of the 80s where I cut my teeth on computing. The old crews would be most impressed by what the younger artists are producing in the genre today.
YOU know what's up. You're 100% correct. I still go back and listen to a lot of the old demoscene tunes, especially 4-Mat's works, and everything about Synthwave feels like a natural extension of that age. Listening to mixes like this makes my soul scream at the skies with a mixture of loss and hope.
@@heyimharlz Trying to make my Atari 520ST sound like an Amiga made me the man I am today! (edit: it was scratchy scratchy but I did squeeze The Final Fight 7v out of it)
I miss the 80's. Driving home from work at night with this music blasting and cool wind hitting you is a whole different vibe. Just something about 2 wheels and synthwave is perfect.
The channel usually does. This is quite unusual. It was released just a few days ago. Hopefully, they'll come back and list the tracks in the description.
*GLORIOUS 80s!!!* Indeed, the FIRST decade that enjoyed the widespread start of consumer tech. BUT was still early enough that most things people needed to do, work for, sweat for and enjoy --- were still very "analog" and simple. *Like for example using the rotary phone and calling your crush (and hope no one eavesdrops on the shared line) then strategically sending hand-written perfume-infused love letters via snail mail and hoping the postman (or a suspicious father) won't intercept and open it before your crush could.*
This one is also 🔥. I play this while playing cyberpunk 2077. It's so good. Even npcs and me walking to the beat and rhythm. Driving cars with a glow. It's just awesome
This mix is so good. The quality of these tracks are so much better than a lot I have found out there. The guitars are perfect. Great tones, riffs, and production. This contains some of the absolutely best Synthwave/Heavy guitar combo I have found on the Internet to date. Thank you!

Yes, the 80s are eternal, but this playlist doesn't sound too much like the 80s. Synthwave indeed is inspired by that decade but ultimately a contemporary sound.
47:30 starts one hell of a song! Slow at the beginning but once it gets going its damn nice! There are others that are really great but this one specifically stood out to me. Thanks for another great music mix!
Just wanted to comment that your work is becoming more and more relevant in the times of cheap derivative music and AI-gen content. We need curators like you so much. Keep up the good work! 👍
80's synthwave mixes saved my life! I love watching toy restoration videos, but a bunch of those are also ASMR videos, and I can't stand those because of my misophonia, so I played this mix, and I finally could watch certain restorations I had in my feed for days!
Ugghh youtube, stop knowing what I like. I was listening to some retro synth and this auto played next. These guys are instantly on my favourite list. Retroxx - I'll remember them. Must buy stuff.
This would go well with a spaceship shooter/schmup type of game. There's a large indie scene for those type of games, consider reaching out to a developer.
I remember when DeLorian got busted and the company went bankrupt. There was a year or two you could buy one for nothing!! A couple of grand, brand new! Then Back to the Future came out and they began to grow in value. I wish I had one.
There was some music on this channel once that got removed, not sure why probably because of copyright or some other reason. Problem is it was a few years like 3 years ago. All I remember is the thumbnail had a dystopian city building I think with an old car like red or purple. Would really like to find that mix because it had what is probably some of the most amazing music I have ever heard in my life. Would not mind paying for it if I knew who the artists were.

why does 80's music style works so good with futuristic stuff ??? i dont get it its amazing

The song at 47:24 hits me hard and I don't know why. Helps me gather my roots, which reach back to both English and German Nobility.
I've listened to so many synth playlists, but this one is by far my favorite. I'd love to have this whole playlist downloaded! ❤

I really enjoyed this mix. There is a nice throwback to the early 2000 EBM scene.
Top notch my friend , coming from someone who was 13 in 1980 and 22 in 89. Nailed it.

5:23 is VERY inspired from the saint seiya soundtrack (check the song 'can't say goodbye - dragon shiryiu theme' - it's almost the same notes)
