I grew up with them and most were friends from early childhood baseball. Kiko was one of those friends I knew from early childhood. I was even mistaken for his brother one time and got roused by the cops. I'm glad I never joined either gang... I fist fought when I needed to and navigated my way to survive RSP. I've seen a lot of crazy shit that I would like to forget. I'm from the south bay right next to Pedro and have spent thousands of hours there. Love Pedro! It has deep Italian and Croatian roots (started as a fishing village populated primarily by those 2 nationalities), but there have been tons of Hispanics moving in for decades as well. Thanks for pronouncing it correctly and showing some love to our little gem of LA :) BTW, Pedro is damn near a 1 gang town that has been historically controlled by Rancho San Pedro, which is locally known as RSP. whatever you called it, SP locos or whatever...never heard that term. No one uses it. Over the last 15 years tho dodge City Crip has been growing and getting bigger, whereas RSP has been hit with some heavy state and federal raids and indictments, which can be found online easily. Raised in San Francisco moved to San Pedro for college. Pedro was tough, my friend got pressed for a sharks hat and they found a 4 year old girl shot dead in a dumpster a couple blocks from our dorm. The public housing reminds me of sunnydale SF, though sunnydale wayyyyy worse and a lot bigger. It was the Mexicans and Cartels that ran Pedro in 2008 when I was there all the black gangs were in Harbor, Wilmington they beefed pretty heavy.

Raised in San Francisco moved to San Pedro for college. Pedro was tough, my friend got pressed for a sharks hat and they found a 4 year old girl shot dead in a dumpster a couple blocks from our dorm. I got kicked outta Long Beach school district and the only school where I didn't have any enemies was San Pedro. Sorry to say, DCC weren't running nothing- they were only like 20 deep. RSP was like 50-60, Santa Cruz was like 15. DCC were quite, no loud and boisterous like insane or 20's. This was in 1992. I lived on 15th and Pacific and Young Crowd held it down tough right there!
