@@DanLiveTTV the OBS visibility part shows and hides and element in my overlay that says “ads coming soon” I have recently removed this, and you can easily just disable or delete that part.
@@DanLiveTTV you should only need to select one for ad running the ad midroll event fires about 5 seconds before that, but has nothing to do with this video
thank you so much for this! i used it for the first time today and it worked really well ❣i'm excited to customize it with some things to make ad breaks more interactive
@TheIronNoodle yeah I stopped using the hill myself as well honestly, something changed and it’s not working well. I just took it out and added the time back into the delay. Still looking for a good chat-based replacement, if you come across any.
Thank you for explaining this very clearly. I recently made affiliate and I want to grow my channel but scared to activate ads in fear of people not wanting to follow or sub. This seems the least invasive so I’m going to give it a try. I’ve been to channels where the ads are extremely heavy and it’s not great.
Hey there! I'm a little unclear why you chose to go with 90 sec ad every 30 minutes vs 3min ad every hour, I know in the video you stated that the 3 minute block would work if all you cared about was the revenue share and not disabling pre-roll ads, and maybe this is something that has changed recently, but I have seen that 3 minutes of ads disables pre-roll for the next hour. Is there another reason for going with the shorter ad length that I'm missing? And thank you for this helpful video!
Yes, at the time of making this, you could only disable prerolls for a half hour at a time, so 90seconds every 30 was the best choice. Now, as long as you hit 3minutes per hour, you’re good. I personally moved to 2 minutes every 40.
A few reasons - 1) when I made this video that option did not remove prerolls for the full hour, only 30 minutes. 2) I feel like 3 minutes is too much all at once, while 90 seconds results in no noticeable viewership dropoff
As a speedrunners ads are a nightmare. Running a short game (20 mins or so was easy to manage). Now I run a longer category (50-60 mins). Which makes running ads kinda scary if I'm about to pb
This is next level content! Ads are a problem but not anymore, streamers need to do little effort to not be affected by them. Instead they complain, but not anymore, people who dont do this are missing the point. excellent job as always

I'll be making a new video for handling ad management soon as there will be a new trigger coming soon that makes this whole process much simpler. for now, you can wire an action to the ad running event as described in this video by adding a trigger to that action. i have a video about this change from events to triggers here: ruclips.net/video/j69T9GoFMy4/видео.html
Disabling ads I’m not sure, but yes I still use this method today. I no longer use the mini game in between, so I’ve adjusted the delay a bit, but it still works!
Hey chief, are your Twitch ads getting ridiculous lately? I followed your tutorial to the T and it works fantastic. However, now recently, it has went from the 90 seconds to 5 and 6 ads! I know they changed some stuff recently again and I went back through ad manager again and streamerbot and it is all exactly as it should be. Just curious if you or anyone else is experiencing this. I mean I understand ads but they are getting stupid throwing 5 and 6 at us. 🤣 Hope all is well your way! Take care.
@@Phlare I asked my wife to watch for that and she did confirm the ads were on the shorter side. There were more but shorter. So I do agree with your assessment 100% 👍

Ok I have been using this and for some reason it just doesn't work anymore even though it's enabled? Is there a reason why it all of a sudden stopped? It was working fine until like 2 days ago.

Phlare I've got a question does twitch automatically run these ads at the 30min interval or do i have to run them, I'm slightly confused because of the "Twitch message(I'm typing ads in 2 minutes...)" part in the Ad Management Timer action
The beginning of the video goes over the settings for configuring the twitch ad manager to run ads every 30 minutes for 90 seconds. They run automatically.
@@Phlare Thank you for clarifying that, I do apologise for the stupid question, I tend to overthink when I'm doing something new and easily confuse myself xD
question....why is the source visibilty set to hidden at first the visible at the end? And do I need to make 2 actions like you did? the import code only has 1 action
Yeah, the code seen in the video is my personal version which is much more complex than I wanted to get into for the video, though I’m happy to go through it. The reason the source visibility is set to hidden at the beginning and visible at the end is thst the source in question is a text source that says “ads coming soon” So at the end of this action, after an ad runs, and then after the 27.5 minute delay, the source is shown. Then, when the ad actually runs again, the action fires again and the source is hidden while ads actually run and during the next 27.5 minutes
Yes, in my main working code I have separated the actual stuff like playing the sound and sending the chat message and firing off my chat mini game - into a separate action that is called as a subaction set to “run immediately”
The reason for separating this out is that I eventually intend to separate out some logic based on whether the ad was a scheduled ad or a manually fired ad.
0.2.3 will feature all new triggers that make this all a whole lot easier and I’m working on a video for that. For the time being this all still works, the only difference is that the action needs to be asssigned to the ad run event using a trigger instead of the old way
It doesn’t rely on a timed action. It fires off the the ad run event. That said, that event is not firing right now due to changes twitch made to the API. Streamer bot 0.1.18 will fox and is in beta
