This is the best choreo ive evr seen this past few years in kpop. Idk but I think this is the first Tutting choreo ive ever seen in Kpop. Thos choreo feels complicated especially when you are singing at the same time.
I totally agree with Monroe! You can hate SM as much as you like, but you can NOT deny that SM brings out amazing qualities of works regarding their artists. Always giving us great songs, amazing (and unique, at least for Kpop standard) concepts, and SM always thrives to be the first in every aspect of Kpop industry. Tell me, which other company's group that has done tutting for the whole choreo of their song? Which company has done online live concert for the first time since the pandemic? They did it first with SuperM, and then their other groups. And SM artists are some of the most talented and most versatile ones in the industry. Even SM senior artists are (some of) the firsts to actually pave the way to international recognition of Kpop artists, waaayyyyy before there was social media that some recent groups are benefitting from. So yeah, SM can be such a**hole to some of their artists, but in terms of quality, they're freaking amazing. And if I was an artist, I'd want to be signed by SM, and only SM.

Naughty is currently the ONLY dance choreography in Kpop history that has Tutting from start to finish (going back from 90s era of kpop up to present.).

Check out "Move" by Taemin (Is that how you spell it? I can't remember). "Stay tonight" by Chung Ha has some tutting esque things in the choreo as well. Also Seventeen has some incredibly hard choreos as welll
When Monroe said she wants to get signed up by SM I literally had goosebumps like what she’s saying is so true. When u think about it, SM is not sticking to the norm. They always want something different. And being a musician, you would want to experience that.

What's crazy is after MONSTER came out, me and my brother went through a Red Velvet marathon and Irene and Seulgi have ALWAYS been together. We found an old song called Be Natural from about 5 years ago and they're SO IN SYNC!
Yes they trained together for a really long time so thats why they decided to be a unit, bc they rly know each others styles and fit well. The SM founder Lee Soo Man rly enjoyed their Be Natural cover (originally by SES) from predebut so he encouraged them to do a subunit. He knew they were gonna be a hit so much that he constantly asked the creative director to direct this unit, even tho she didnt want to, but she gave in bc he was so persistent and it led to monster 🥺 he just rly loves them and tries to support them the most
These girls have done EDM, Pop, Folk, Reggae, Ragger, HipHop, Ballad, Techno, Bossa Nova, Jazz, Doowop, 90s, 50s, Disco, Soul, to their signature and bread and butter RnB. You know it, Red Velvet has done and got it. SM has been innovating when it comes to music
You’re right Monroe, SM’s dancing and especially their vocals are light years ahead of the rest of the groups in k-pop. They invest so much money and time into vocals and choreo that the result shows. Even their “weak” dancers are still exceptional. Same with their “weaker” vocals as well. SM is a terrible company in terms of managing their idols, but they are the number one, the best, untouchable when it comes to the quality of their idols. No one. I repeat NO ONE can touch those vocals. Exo, Girls Generation, Super Junior, NCT, f(x), Red Velvet all of them are the gold standard in terms of vocals. I’m not saying that other groups don’t have artists that have incredible vocals as well. There are plenty, I’m just saying that one or two good vocalists in any given group doesn’t top an entire group of excellent vocalists.
In kpop industry, veterans will always say that SM trainees are on another level. Its always mentioned in different talk shows. They're not just looking for visuals, they should have talents. Even producers of different companies, they always mentioned that SM groups are blueprints for their group creation.
And the fact that SM never send their trainees to any survival shows tho. The training and lesson life of the trainees at SM is probably already like a survival show to them. SM is on another level. Like you said, the quality of the idols are untouchable. Yas 💯

Seulrene are my biases This was the subunit Reveluvs have been wanting for years. Ever since their duo dance version Of Be Natural, before there was the official Red Velvet version ft Taeyong They have also performed multiple times as duo at RV and SMtown Concerts. So I knew their chemistry would be amazing for a subunit When SM announced this, I had never been so excited for a debut
so basically: if red velvet doesn’t win best dance with naughty and song of the year with psycho at MAMAs 2020 all the reveluvs (including me) are throwing a fit.
I honestly think they might not win, I’ve realised that it’s mostly about how big a fandom is and it will most likely go to BTS or maybe Twice. We all know mama rigged😭
it was the same with ONCEs and Fancy in 2019, however BTS hasn't released another complete success like BWL in 2020, so I think they have a chance, but their new comeback might win SOTY if it's really good (also cause it's BTS)

We shouldn't care about awards when we have this perfect piece of art in our hands, they deserve the best I know, but that doesn't mean everyone would or should see the queens they are as we know, SM don't need awards or anything cause they know they're the best and the whole industry know that too, they gonna keep up doing amazing jobs like these more and more even though the results aren't the most lucrative or famous on the market

You’re right Monroe, SM’s dancing and especially their vocals are light years ahead of the rest of the groups in k-pop. They invest so much money and time into vocals and choreo that the result shows. Even their “weak” dancers are still exceptional. Same with their “weaker” vocals as well. SM is a terrible company in terms of managing their idols, but they are the number one, the best, untouchable when it comes to the quality of their idols. No one. I repeat NO ONE can touch those vocals. Exo, Girls Generation, Super Junior, NCT, f(x), Red Velvet all of them are the gold standard in terms of vocals. I’m not saying that other groups don’t have artists that have incredible vocals as well. There are plenty, I’m just saying that one or two good vocalists in any given group doesn’t top an entire group of excellent vocalists.
In kpop industry, veterans will always say that SM trainees are on another level. Its always mentioned in different talk shows. They're not just looking for visuals, they should have talents. Even producers of different companies, they always mentioned that SM groups are blueprints for their group creation.
And the fact that SM never send their trainees to any survival shows tho. The training and lesson life of the trainees at SM is probably already like a survival show to them. SM is on another level. Like you said, the quality of the idols are untouchable. Yas 💯

We shouldn't care about awards when we have this perfect piece of art in our hands, they deserve the best I know, but that doesn't mean everyone would or should see the queens they are as we know, SM don't need awards or anything cause they know they're the best and the whole industry know that too, they gonna keep up doing amazing jobs like these more and more even though the results aren't the most lucrative or famous on the market
Sm usually doesn't care about wins (ex: they can send 2 of their artists on shows at once and just watch who's gonna win; or remember how nct's most successful comeback with Kick It was released together with bts)
