"Psycho" is among the VERY BEST Kpop songs and MVs of the last decade. Wendy's injury right after the comeback prevented it from getting the attention it deserved at the time, but I think now it is definitely in the "S tier" of most fans…

This was classically un-fair of the universe and life in general that Wendy got hurt at all (she's a sweetheart and does not deserve to be hurt like that). Of course it affected the entire group so much!
The idiots at that show... Somebody said they kicked out all the ReveLuvs from the audience even though they had bought legit tickets. Those fans could have watched everybody else perform, even knowing that RV would not be there because of the accident...instead they got ripped off. I don't think those tickets were refunded either. That place had PROBLEMS that year! That show should have been shut down entirely because Wendy is not the only person who got hurt, she was simply the worst of all the cases. The entire stage had everybody falling down. Those execs needed to be fired. I'm still mad.

When Han said she felt like she wanted to cry at the end of psycho I was happy to know that this really is just a universal reaction to this song and M/V combined. The visuals mixed with how the final hook comes back in after the bridge and the repetition of "Hey now we'll be okay"/"It's alright".
And in Peek-A-Boo I swear Joy on that table with the pizza house takes me out every time and when you both focused in on only one of those two things, it was comedy gold. Joy do be looking like that but also Pizza House???? lol

Btw, the lyrics of Psycho "Hey now we'll be okay" was very timely because Wendy was severely injured shortly after the comeback and was out for a year. The song seemed to be reassuring fans that everything will be alright.

Peekaboo was indeed a Halloween comeback and SO fun I was living for them leaning fully into spooky. So glad you guys are seeing Psycho the mv is like so intertwined with the song for me bc it's incredible. Also when Han said "I feel like crying," I was like YES. That part always overwhelms me, I get emotional every time in the last bit.
Psyco was the first MV i whatch from RV and i was so shock about the quality of the video, the visuals, everithing. that was the moment i started listening to kpop music.

If you guys want SUPER campy weird and fun kpop, Orange Caramel is definitely the group to check out. They're a 3 member sub unit of the girl group After School, and their MVs are just so weird and so fun. Like in one MV they're human sushi?? In another they're battling over table tennis??? Iconic.

Despite not liking the deep wubby sound in Red Flavor, it's one of my favorite Red Velvet songs. The chorus is just so fun and Wendy's moments in the bridge and outro are legendary.

Also the song might be hitting harder from MV because the streaming version of the song is actually different from the videos. This was because the MV version instrumentals was too intense and that it's not good for streaming on repeat so SM changed it for the streaming version of the song

Red Velvet Always brings a little bit more attention and recognition in the way they're voices blend really well with the production of the beat
sometimes it goes without saying how iconic Red Velvet's legacy is. All mini, full album and music videos are what most kpop can't achieve, it's pure excellence. no offense to others. I'm a fan of several groups but I can be honest, they are chic and know how to deliver even what we didn't expect. “Psycho” will never be surpassed by anyone in the industry, maybe not even themselves.
Red Flavor is about their youth. The lyrics is about them growing up from tiny sprout in to a 'ripe' fruit. So basically the ripe fruit are them, they were interviewing themselves. If you see the moving headlines in the mv, they were talking about their childhood.

Peek A Boo Theory : ever heard of peek a boo game? an urban legend scary hide and seek game with evil spirit, the rules of the game are the player must hide and not get caught by the ghost from midnight until dawn, and prohibited to get out from house while the game occur Red Velvet is actually doing a soul exchange ritual (notice when Joy sit on the table full of candle and then the pizza boy sit on it later) so the theory is Joy was dead, and they hunt many pizza boy as the sacrifice to resurrect her with peek a boo game they have done this many times (notice a lot of shirt displayed while they trying to catch the pizzaboy) and they train how to kill with weapon (axe, crossbow, knife, even they displayed SMG on the wall), and they look for victim by tempting the victim, notice the first one to try seduce the pizzaboy was Yeri, but it doesn't work, and then when Irene try it, the pizza boy fell for her the pizza boy actually manage to not get caught by them, but i assume that he was trapped by them, they celebrate his winning (while he didn't win yet because it wasn't sunrise yet) and give him a poisonous jelly, and when he ate it, he forgot that he played the game, and he halucinating that Red Velvet helped him to escape from the haunted house so when the time he set off the house, he broke the rule that the player must not leave the house until sunrise, so when he called 911 for help, Irene, the one who invited him to the house followed and killed him, and then they have a new displayed shirt on their house 🙂

Psycho is just Top 5 Kpop songs of all time. It’s an ANTHEM. A masterpiece. Fun fact the sound of the MV is different on spotify version. Spotify is more chill less trippy wavy bass parts.

For Peekaboo, in addition to murdering the pizza boys, they're like using them as trophies - in the scene where they're chasing him through the house you can see other pizza delivery shirts in cases on display.
Throughout the MV the moon is changing and they're practicing their rituals leading up to the full moon (hence them firing the crossbows and stuff in the garden, the opening scene with Seulgi and Irene). In the scenes where the girls are leading the pizza boy out of the house, you'll notice it's different girls each time, implying that they each take turns pretending to "help" the pizza boy every time they take a new victim. ;)

psycho is the best red velvet song for me, when they released this song i honestly thought it would gain a lot of daesangs as best song of the year for sure, i love it that much. everytime i listen to psycho i have this kind of nostalgia feeling, especially when 'that' accident happened, after that, psycho always give me a very very bitter sweet vibes that makes me wanna cry yet i have a smile on m face.

So, basically, my main theory for Peek-a-Boo MV is that RV is a group of murderers who strikes only at the full moon (hence the big moon in the beggining and the end). But the thing is, just like predators, they like to play with their prey until they kill it, so thats what they do. They order pizza one time, make the pizza boy meet and be interested in one or more of them (prob Irene, Yeri and Joy in the MV), and then they try to sinalize every time he goes to their house that something is wrong, until they finally convince the pizza boy that they are good and the others are evil, run with them (just like in the end of the MV), and when he is finally getting away, believing he is safe and with the girl he saved (which in this case was irene) she leaves the car and kill him, completing the hunt.

The low voice sample in Red Flavor is actually just that. "Red red red flavor. Red, red red red flaaaavoooorrr."
Putting gems on pizza & building a house out of it demonstrates that the girls have _no use for pizza_ as food. They just collect it, in the process of collecting what they really want (for sustenance?)...pizza boys. Implying vampirism at the very least. One brilliant design element is that their costume sets _never quite match._ There's always _one_ member who's different...plaid dress when the rest are solid red, solid blue when the rest are rainbow striped, glittering when the rest are solid black, etc. Also, the member leading the pizza boy's "escape" after the jello game _changes_ every time the camera cuts. All 5 are standing on the porch as he runs, _who's leading him?_ Gives everything a hallucinogenic feeling.

The fruits in red flavor are their representative fruit and yes Wendy's is blue fleshed orange. If you watch closely they're acting like the fruits, how Irene im a big red hat while the watermelon was being wrapped, the kids were in the rain when they water the small plant, Wendy dropped when one orange fell, etc
Psycho was supposed to be THE song that would propel them towards rivalling Twice or even Blackpink in popularity. And it shoukd have. I'm still angry at SM for what happened next.

OH MY GOODNESS YES YES!! I am so glad that you guys reacted to these finally, and I knew y'all were going to to psycho for these songs/MV's (pun intended) they were all amazing and so iconic- I'm so happy that you guys got back into Red Velvet also sorry I've been very busy but I'm going to watch the rest of your reactions later! Okay Red Flavour was SO GOOD it was PHENOMENAL literally everything was so cute and so catchy (if someone was high while watching that they'd be flipping out- also we got Irene with bangs and pigtails, Seulgi went crazy she was just Amazing, we got red hair Joy, we got blonde Yeri, we got a brown with highlights Wendy who was pretending to skate and that was super cute not to mention the vocals- and we got an insane rap), the only problem with this era was that Wendy went on a HORRIBLE diet called the Yoyo Diet and it basically is where you are weight cycling it's where you rapidly lose and then gain weight- sorry it's not the best description so if y'all want to you can look it up and SM was very strict with her there is a video sadly that shows Wendy, Seulgi, and Taeyeon eating ice cream and they were staring directly at Wendy and you can tell how scared she kind of was and it was upsetting (another thing is that she also went through another diet when she was younger before debut I'm pretty sure and she would drink a smoothie every morning and then do 10,000 jumping jacks again don't quote me on that). Peek-A-Boo was so freaking iconic and Yes that song and Zimzalabim are our cult songs, not to mention it was just fantastic they legit killed a man with rainbow outfits on- at 9:00 dude that mad me laugh so hard Kess: "GET OFF THE TABLE" Han: "Is that a house made of pizza?!" That was amazing- and at 12:04 took you long enough y'all and I believe that Seulgi's said Love is Love I think, again this whole song was just fantastic (and Yeri's hair was phenomenal she did have it in Bad Boy but yes she looked amazing). And Psycho was just WOW it was again ICONIC it's not my favorite song by them but I see why people love it so much (and it deserved a win espeically after Wendy's injury, not to mention Solar was actually the one who found her) because it really was gorgeous (not to mention Joy legit said when she grabbed Wendy's hand she was talking about how they were a couple in that scene), also the Dance was just fantastic (all of them were) and it was so catchy I legit sing it all the time not going to lie, and at 17:52 this WenRene moment was WOW like Irene looking up with her bright blue puppy eyes and then Wendy looking like THAT (I have seen many reactions and not many have reacted to that Wendy scene and I'm like HOW she made my jaw drop)! Anyways I can't wait for you guys to react to more Red Velvet such as more Music Videos, B - Sides, Live Performances, Covers, Dance Practices, Moments, and of course Ships! Peek-a-boo is perfect too. I think they’re a girl murder cult… like something out of American Horror Story. I never thought about the “peeping Tom” thing… though I think he was just a unlucky Pizza dude who wanted them to come to the door and pay for the pizza.

I love to see their reactions, they are so authentic and I love to see how they enjoy and live the videos and music of kpop, I would love for them to react to GFRIEND is a third generation group that was like competition from red velvet, black pink and twice is the generation, they are from source music from the same company as lesserafim, unfortunately the group separated due to the end of the contract and the members are now in other projects, for example the group VIVIZ are the members of gfriend who joined in a trio. In 2019 towards Christmas time I was making my Top 20 songs of the year and I was sure about Twice's Fancy being my #1 since the summer. This song came out just before Christmas or on and it quickly became my #1 song of the year. Wendy's injury was crushing and really pissed me off big time. It still feels like as fresh as if it came out yesterday.
There is something so unsettling yet warm within Psycho that I can't place.
OK Guys! Me again. I love all 5 of this group but Wendy is my favorite. She is totally wild when she gets going (behind the scenes videos). If you didn't know about her accident, I was so scared for her but she has recovered completely and is as good as new. Selugi and Wendy traveled to Austra by themselves and it was a fun two days. I hope you guys catch their video.

The story of Psycho's MV is actually really interesting. Essentially the members are being tricked by Irene and throughout the MV you see that Joy knows what Irene is up to and is trying to tell all the members and then the scene where Irene pricks her finger is her indicator that shes losing control. By the end you see the members running around Irene and the lyrics go "Hey now ill be okay" and then Irene goes "Psycho" indicating that she regained control of the members.
