Mike I think your concerns are fair and valid, truth be told that if we never had dog, bought and lived on the boat for a while, I wouldn’t be going to get a dog to join us, I probably wouldn’t get any pet, it just adds so much more complexity to an already (at times) complex and stressful undertaking. But he’s here now and part of the family and we just couldn’t imagine life without him.
@Post Toasty Fascinating, but doesn’t that reduce the distances you can go from the coast or the idea of an Atlantic crossing as, if I understand correctly, some dogs will only relieve themselves on land👍
Been watching a lot of people farming in Portugal. Right now they are having problems with a poison procession caterpillar that nests in pine trees and is very dangerous to animals. They shed their hairs and they can do real damage to pets. All of these farmers that have dogs are really concerned. Just watched one this morning "OK Portugal" where they found a similar caterpillar on the ground and showed what the nests look like in the trees. When they come to the ground, they link their bodies and form huge trails. I don't have a dog and I never heard of Alabama Rot. Please keep Hank safe. I know you will because you love him. We viewers love him too. Jane, Philadelphia
Great that Hank is ok. I had a similar panic with one of my dogs with a really sore and weeping lesion on his hind leg. Antibiotics and wait and see was the order of the day and thankfully it cleared up. Alabama Rot is very serious so thankful Hank is ok. Hope you got some more sailing in with your mate. Cheers guys. I meant more generally that martial arts was the hobby. I’ve was a ‘life long’ martial artist, from 7yrs old up to about 35. I ended up competing in all kinds of competitions in all kinds of locations, and this was about the end of my career, a one off cage fight that I did to raise money for a local hospice, which took care of a couple of people I knew who were taken far too young. This fight took so much out of me, the training alone was so gruelling, I picked up some injuries from it that I’ve never recovered from, so apart from a handful of Jiujitsu (pyjama wrestling) competitions after, I retired from competing not long after this.
It doesn’t have a face on it so we hardly use it, it’s forever getting frozen solid. We have a chest freezer which is far more usable, honest, Gov 🙏😬⛵️

Love your calm channel! Hank is a the best! I know its filmed a long time ago, but it does seem like that lifejacket on your spirited crew is backwards, you can get major winded if the webbing is on the outside of the bladder when it inflates. Said with Love and safety in mind! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Peter, I’ll need to go back and take a look at that again. I think as soon as we had a non sailor onboard who we were responsible for, we actually did become far more safety conscious than perhaps we usually are. 😬🙏⛵️

We have seen them a couple of times over Christmas, we’re big fans of theirs so we didn’t film anything, it was cool to just hang out with them and get to know them better. If we can get our tent work done before they go then we very well may do something with them 😁⛵️🙏
